  1. Didn't look like a foul to me. I reckon we'll see this a lot with Tall Paul. He's so big that oppo players will frequently just bounce off him and get a FK for it.
  2. Better spell from Saints there. Leeds look like they can be got at if we keep the pressure up.
  3. Yep. Never any doubt that ball would quickly end up back with a Leeds player.
  4. Surely should be a yellow for deliberate handball?
  5. Yeah I think so. Can't grumble really.
  6. They weren't just random comments on a Twitter thread though, they were in emails sent directly to Potter himself. I agree with you that the 'threats' were probably no more than the rantings of a keyboard warrior and unlikely to have any substance, but it's not so easy to just ignore in this scenario.

    Booze

Pleasing to know it's still running. I grew up round there and used to love the train rides as a kid. I went to school at Bitterne Park and there was a teacher who taught CDT and tried to be quite pally with the students. He would sometimes give a group of us a lift down to the Triangle chippy at lunch time in his kit car. There was a video hire shop called Solent Video I used to use all the time until Blockbuster opened in Portswood and eventually put all the smaller independent places out of business.
  8. Well now that we've officially appointed a fellow Spaniard as manager, maybe that won't be such an issue.
  9. I changed my username a few years ago, but not out of any desire to make a fresh start and convince other users that I'm not the same person or anything like that. I just had personal reasons for not wanting to use my old username anymore. I don't doubt that certain people have been banned or stopped posting only to pop up again on a different account. Sometimes it's glaringly obvious, and I did find it pretty hilarious that AlexLaw actually tried for a while to pretend he wasn't delldays/batman. I'm sure there have probably been others who have been savvy enough to use a different posting style and evaded detection though. I do find it disagreeable however when some people make up their minds that a relatively new poster must be a certain former board user and relentlessly attacks them as if they are without any evidence to support their assertion. I've seen this many tines over the years. For instance, I don't actually believe that any of the recent newbies are actually an alter ego of MLG. His was such a uniquely rigid style of posting with not the slightest hint of subtlety or humour that I find it hard to believe he has the imagination to conjure up a whole new character to post as. It's not impossible that MLG was himself a fictional character, i guess. But if he was, then to maintain the facade and stop the mask from slipping over so many years and tens of thousands of posts is mighty impressive. There is nothing about any of the more recent posters that suggests to me they could be the same person though.
  10. And yet only a few weeks ago he was clearly our best CB. Something doesn't seem right there.
  11. It's even more puzzling when you consider what JWP actually did get sent off for at Stamford Bridge last season.
  12. The Last of Us is every bit as good as everyone says it is. It's more character driven than action, and Pedro Pascal is just so watchable. Really enjoying it so far. Also, S3 of Picard launched on Friday, and there is a clear departure from the previous seasons in episode 1. I love how they have successfully recreated the epic cinematic feel from the early movies in certain aspects of it.
  13. Like clockwork!
  14. There's a M Le Tissier playing for England against Italy this afternoon. Her name is Maya and apparently she's not related to Matt, although her dad Darren played with him when they were young.
  15. Was intrigued by JWP's post match comments about Selles, along the lines of "he's given us a familiar way of playing". Very telling, and a quite obvious little dig at Jones because nobody seemed to know what they were supposed to be doing during his tenure. What we saw yesterday was basically Ralphball but with the right substitutions made at the right time. If we can repeat this at Elland Road next week and show that it wasn't just a fluke against Chelsea then he definitely deserves to be offered the job IMO.
  16. I'm sure someone else must have made this comment already, but... Stuey returns from injury and starts - we win. Coincidence? I think not.
  17. MOTD highlighting Jack Stephens' outstanding performance for Bournemouth yesterday 😐
  18. Ah, OK. Thanks for correcting. Difficult to tell from the one angle they showed and I assumed it was AMN because it was in the RB area.
  19. Could do with Meslier having another off day. Can only imagine what the meltdown on here would be like if Bazunu had let in that cross/shot from Coleman.
  20. I was out yesterday for a kids birthday party so didn't get to watch any of the game live. Just watched MOTD and it looks like we were good value for the win with some really committed defending in the second half. Another great FK goal from JWP. Good block by AMN to prevent a certain goal but there were two other moments just on the highlights where he made a total mug of himself - getting out-muscled by the man mountain Raheem Sterling, and then jumping over another Chelsea player, missing the ball completely and leaving him a free run into the box. Perraud's reaction to stopping that shot on the line is one of the best moments by far of this shitty season. More of that please. Well done Saints and well done Rueben Selles.
  21. And aggressive?
  22. So what the hell is going on with DCC and Orsic then?
  23. Much happier with Marsch than any of Lampard, Gerrard or Rooney. None of those 3 have shown any real ability in management and have so far managed to get jobs solely based on their reputations as players. People wanting them claim they would command the respect of the players, but I know for a fact that's not the case with Lampard. At Everton he was aloof and distant, almost as if he just expected the players to respect him because of his own achievements as a player (and that's straight from the mouth of someone in the squad). I would much rather have a manager who has a clear pedigree in actual management than either of those three.
