Don't you just love how Bednarek always looks to blame someone else when he has been completely useless and left his man free in the box? No, me neither. Prick.

IIRC in 2005 we at least managed to string a few results together in March to give us some hope, and we went into the last game with a chance of staying up. And we also had the excitement of that Norwich game. Can you imagine this lot serving up a performance like that? Not a chance. Everything about this season is much, much worse. We've never once looked like going on a run of results, because we have by far the worst forward line the PL has ever seen. We might have got away with our defending this season if we had the attacking options we had in 2005, but we would need to keep a clean sheet in every single game just to stay outside the relegation zone all the time we are pinning our goalscoring hopes on the likes of A. Armstrong, Adams, Djenepo, Walcott and Elyounoussi.
-
Fixed it for you. There's just no creativity and no finishing ability in this team whatsoever. It's pathetic. We might have got away with our defending a bit more this season if we weren't so utterly incapable of even testing the opposing keepers up the other end.
-
Ah yes. I've blocked most of this season out of my memory so I'd forgotten about that one. I think my point is still valid though.
-
If that means them staying up at Everton's expense then bring it on. We're fucked anyway so we might as well indulge in a little schadenfreude.
-
I just don't understand how a group of highly paid, professional sportsmen can contrive to be so consistently inept, week after week. Every single time we've had a 'must win' home game against a lower half team, we've fucked it up. I mean, surely by the law of averages we could have managed to fluke a win in at least one of those games with a massive slice of luck and the other team being just worse than us on the night, surely? But no. We fuck it up... Every. Single. Time. You make your own luck. The reason we haven't had any good luck all season is because we haven't worked hard enough to earn it.

Everton losing 5-1 now.
-
Well that just sums up our season doesn't it.
-
Losing 3-0 now. Might have a read of GoT at full time to cheer myself up a bit.

Jesus fucking Christ. I've watched some horrific performances this season but this tonight tops the lot - worse even than that Forest game. We're being given a football lesson by Bournemouth. No intensity, no fight, no plan. Just a completely disjointed bunch of headless fucking chickens trying to make it look like they actually care. Without doubt the worst Saints team I have seen in 35 years of supporting them.
-
Think that works both ways. When they practice the attacking set piece routines they probably slap each other on the back at how good they must be, completely forgetting that when they come up against competent defenders they won't yield any success.
-
For someone who is supposedly so clued up about football, he seems to be alarmingly oblivious to the chicken and egg scenario here. The players need to give the fans something to cheer and sing about, but we've endured years and years of turgid, pedestrian shite on the pitch and we're so fatigued from it now that all we are able to express is frustration and cynicism.
-
And we've just lost to a team with one of them as manager. Wonderful.
-
Has it though? With the utter lack of commitment and intensity throughout the squad, and a total inability of our forward players to do what they are paid to do, how would it have been saveable with this squad? The only thing I think that could have been done to make any difference would be to bring Macca back in place of the hopeless Bazunu which would gave given us a slum chance of turning a few of those 1-0 defeats into 0-0 draws, but that still wouldn't have been enough come the end of the season.
-
Well at least Everton are losing at home again. Every cloud and all that.
-
Yep, me too. I feel so disconnected from this group of players that I'm not going to waste any of my emotional energy on them. When you look back at thecrelegation scraps in the 90s, we had players like Franny who were technically limited but put their blood, sweat and tears into trying, so even when we lost you could still applaud the effort. This lot just look like they're a bunch of mates having a kick around in the park.
-
I don't think Selles is our biggest problem really. It doesn't matter who he picks or what formation he chooses - this squad is utter dogshit and not even remotely PL quality.
-
Oh fuck off Saints. Seriously just fuck thr fuck off you useless bunch of utter pricks. I'm done with you.
-
Christ! I had actually forgotten about him completely until you posted this.
-
We've got one. He's currently banging them in for Burnley.
-
"Elyounoussi closest to it but never in danger of getting a touch" Course he wasn't. And there it is. Game over.
-
Ref seems to be letting City get away with a lot of niggly little fouls.
-
Looking on the bright side - Everton, Forest and Leicester all losing is good at least. I mean, not that it matters in the long run cos we ain't gonna beat Man City and we still ain't gonna stay up, but still.

Obviously not, because GL has been tweeting politically charged, anti-government content for many years. So if that was against the terns of his contract then he would have been sacked long before now. I seriously doubt there would be any legal basis to include a clause in his contract forbidding him to have his own opinion on social media where he is posting as an individual and not representing his employer. Given his propensity to such postings, I very much doubt he would sign such a contract even if there was.

Don't seem to remember you ever complaining about Andrew Neil posting some horrendously biased right wing bollocks on Twitter while also being a senior political presenter on the BBC.
