Nicely done, I like the look of it!

Not at all... I don't think you read my post or Morgan Freeman's comments, who is more able than both of us to talk about the merits of black history month. Black history is human history and shouldn't be squashed into a month. It should be celebrated along side our history as equal and as part of it. Black history month and LGBT history month was actually abolished at my old college this year by the E&D officer(who is LGBT herself) in favour of regular events. Why relegate something as important as black history to a month?
-
I do not think one race should be separated from another in this way. I wouldn't stop it existing as it hardly disrupts anything... but I'd rather there just be a World Player Award which anyone can win regardless of skin colour. I also don't particularly like Black History Month, LGBT Month etc etc... it's just condescending, and I know I am a white middle class teenager, but look what Morgan Freeman has to say about Black History Month which is in the same vein as a footballing award only a black man can win - http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/10482634/ns/today-entertainment/t/freeman-calls-black-history-month-ridiculous/ I'd rather just have regular events celebrating all history, including black and white people and so on... and to bring this back to the original point, an award which celebrates talent irrespective of skin colour.

Nope, not at all. It was of course exactly the same then and now. Liberalism won.
-
If Dune bothered to actually find out what Liberalism was, he might actually like it! In fact, I say he is a liberal in denial. Everyone(well, most in this country) is a liberal of one kind or another these days.
-
As a member of the Liberal Elite(as labelled by you), I do not support positive discrimination.
-
In fairness, what you are saying is racialist, not racist... but there is a very thin line between the two. Between saying different races have inherent qualities... and then saying oh, that means they should be treated differently, and that leads to mass racism or worse, genocide.
-
It's the connotation that matters. The latter word has hundreds of years of oppression in its meaning and is often shouted and used as a derogatory term that someone is better than the other because of their skin colour. Baldie has no such history or connotation.

He has his moments when he ****s it up, but other than that he is absolutely brilliant. And most importantly, he delivers as shown by stats above.

Isolationism and protectionism won't work in capitalism. If you want a free-market capitalist system, you have to accept immigration; even more so in the globalised world we now live in.

*Question Time
-
Nope, I am in a pub quiz team actually my dear. And then going out is separate from that. But I can't be bothered to entertain you any more. Return to your cave, Troll.
-
If you must know... I go out out quite often(usually once a week), as well as spending time with my girlfriend and what not. I go to the pub and I spend time with friends, stuff you would no doubt consider 'normal'. It's just why should I combine that with being a moron when I'm not doing that?
-
You have no idea how much fun I have. You should try it sometime.
-
Nope, but I have Question Time to watch. Oh and the Greatest Show on Earth to read.
-
This should be in the Muppet Show.

Blatter is head of world football. He basically said Racism is okay, as long as people shake on it at the end of the match. That's a ridiculous thing to say as head of world football, and just shows how removed he is from reality. As head of FIFA, he has to have a zero tolerance approach. He should go.

Most wouldn't be bothered to do that though! Whereas with this dinner idea, anyone would go. I'm not saying it's a replacement, just that you will getting a better rage of views than from the 'vocal minority'(i.e us forum lot) as someone said a second ago.
-
Not saying fans forums are a bad idea. I'm just saying only a certain type of fan will attend them, I'd probably go to one if I had a chance. But most wouldn't bother attending them, hence this random selection for an intimate dinner is probably more successful in hearing the views of the average fan who doesn't follow the backroom politics.
-
It's probably better than having to speak to some self-professed 'representative' of the fans. I think the problem with those kind of things is they get carried away with their own self importance, and forget that at the end of the day, you don't have to attend matches. Most people don't even care about what Cortese does, they go to the matches each week and if we win they are happy and if we lose they are unhappy. Having regular dinners like this is a much better way of getting the views of the REAL fan, not the self-professed 'superfans' who bother to get involved with fan groups.

The Premier League with 8 homegrown players is the interesting bit! That'll take 10-15 years and huge investment... he's in for the long run I think.
-
I guess just because he hands plans to the council for approval, doesn't mean he wants to do it right now??? Or am I being a moron?
-
One day the 'youth' are too wild for you and undisciplined. The next day they are boring and not fun. What are we? Make up your mind already. And was your comment really necessarily, you've just bought the thread off topic.

Random. From electoral role. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/CrimeJusticeAndTheLaw/Juryservice/DG_072707 Between 18 and 70, lived in UK for 5 years since 13, no jail over 5 years, no jail in the last 10 years and you can opt out if you have serious commitments(don't know what that would entail) or done it in the last 2 years.

Nothing wrong with the idea of work for benefits, as long as it doesn't distract from their search for a proper job. I have always been a fan of the alphabet agencies of Roosevelt's America. The CCC is particularly interesting... community work(in forestry I believe), but they got a minimum wage and food and what not. While that couldn't work exactly like that today. A bit of community work(or at least the option of it) for those on benefits wouldn't go amiss.
