You're nuts if you think Liberal Democrats are switching to UKIP! -
UKIP set to overtake Lib Dems as 3rd largest party?

I guess that's a fair point to a degree(as they always have less than Lab/Con, though if you look at the Liberal Democrat voting percentages over the last few decades... 2010 - 23% 2005 - 22.1% 2001 - 18.3% 1997 - 16.8% 1992 - 17.8% 1987 - 22.6% 1983 - 25.4% Personally, I wouldn't say that is fringe in relation to percentage votes, but in relation to seats gained, yes they are in the fringe, but that's only because of our unfair electoral system. -

You know full well that in a by election, the results are totally different to what would have been on an actual election day. Protest votes come through as do peoples real preferences as there is no governmental change at stake. -

Won't happen... when the election comes, due to FPTP, voters will scramble to the main 3/(maybe 2 parties by then!). -

Gambling being rammed down our throats ...

Had us down for a quid to win 4 nil at Peterborough on Saturday at 22-1. -
There was a video of him at the protest speaking... trust me he was as high and drunk as ****. I doubt he knew which way was up or down. Not an excuse, but fact.
-
He probably didn't, considering how high on drugs he was at the time.
-
You inferred it with your wording about 'this current crop of youngsters'
-
Sigh, so because one youngster of today is a Nazi, we are all waste of spaces. Not like there were any Nazi's back in the 30's and 40's... did someone say blackshirts? And before anyone says I lack respect... the guy who did this is clearly a massive **** and the action is despicable.

I thought it was quite funny for a minute or two during our passing play to shout the players name. It certainly wasn't THAT bad. But the atmosphere in general was very sterile yesterday.
-
The problem with the Daily Mail is once they hate a person, they seem to stop at nothing to stir up **** about them... and this is what leads to stuff like this. They should just leave Cherie Blair alone.

So not one year of a balanced budget?! HAH... even 'fiscally irresponsible' Labour managed a surplus in a couple of years.
-
So now it turns out that the News of the World *KNEW* at least as early as 2008 that there were journalists breaking the law by hacking phones... despite denials. Pretty sure that is a crime in itself? Big cover up at all levels of the company if you ask me.

Yer, I'd probably go with that, but we have to give them the salary to allow that to happen. Just as a side note, the Prime Minister gets 200k if you include both his PM Salary of 140k and his MP salary of 65k.
-
What we do need to do regarding MP's pay is just to pay them more and let them get on with it. 65k isn't enough for the job they are required to do in my opinion. I'd just pay them all 100k at least. If that was already the case, I don't think the expenses scandal would have happened, as MP's were apparently encouraged to claim to top up their salary( as Nick Robinson states in this article - http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/nickrobinson/2011/01/why_did_mps_make_false.html.) We should give them more, not less, otherwise you will end up with only a certain type of person becoming an MP.
-
There will be a loss in there somewhere, probably where we aren't expecting it. It's always the way.
-
Yes, he has. Several times. He has even made a couple of speeches, and he continues to work hard as a local MP in his constituency where he remains incredibly popular.

I think what egg is saying is to have some sort of check up system by social services/police to make sure everything is okay, which is what I'm sure happens anyway due to her protected status. Edit: Egg beat me to it!

She was in Grimsby at the time so had no idea whether he did it or not, but foolishly choose to believe him and gave the alibi when he needed it. He conned her. She was stupid to lie, and she rightly served jail time, but that should be that.
-
I thought she only lied because she believed Huntley when he said he didn't do it. I bet he was a convincing ****er. Either way, she has served her time and I hope learnt her lesson, but the media should leave her alone now.
