  1. Yeah, I was there in 08/09 and it wasn't fun plus the rebuilding for the first few games in League 1 - draws against Stockport, Brentford home, Carlisle away. I was also there in 03/04 and 04/05 as an STH and see some similar decay and slipping standards around the club which are similar. That's different to results, which can go through cycles but there is something not right at SFC at present and both people on this forum and at the games can sense it from how our players are reacting and responding to CP. Therefore, some other posters are also highlighting their concerns about this and some of the random decisions they are seeing. Fine, if you are happy and think the first team is being well managed and coached at present, fair play and you are entitled to your view. But do respect those of an increasing majority in the fanbase which is one of the more realistic around - compare it to down the M27 - who are concerned that it isn't.
  2. Ps - have you watched Torquay recently? Probably best not to comment on an ironic throwaway comment by another poster if you haven't. Delighted they avoided relegation today but sad for York. Welcome to my small but select ignore list
  3. Considering some of the tripe you post about UKIP and Brexit I'll take that as compliment...
  4. What is it with ACLs - assuming it was that? Man U had two in one game recently but seem rife at all levels of the game. Is it down to boots or equipment?
  5. Don't agree with a lot of your posts but do on this. Jack and JWP are going to be the major positives of CP's time in charge. What I suspect we don't agree on is that time should end shortly..
  6. To clarify, I wasn't agreeing overall. Because of injuries/sales, we've had to use some of those players more, not because CP is a better manager than RK or through choice neccessarily. I've given him credit on JWP to show fairness and balance. Funnily enough, you don't seem to disagree on the long list of players I listed that have gone backwards..... If people can't vent after shelling out for today's effortless debacle, there's something wrong with them or they are on the SFC payroll.
  7. Or in the Director's box.
  8. Judging by today's game and atmosphere you right - even more of the fans wanted him gone. Well, those that could stay awake.
  9. Romeu is better but then Victor has left and he's the only DMC we have = myth#1 Yoshida - has played more regularly due to volume of games and injuries. Has had a better season but ropey at Chelsea and still has the odd bad game (as you'd expect for a 4th choice) Cedric = again, has played more and Coco less. Well done CP on that one but Martina should never have played as much last season. JWP - Will give CP credit there Sims - a couple of good cameos, notably V Everton but barrel being liberally scraped.... Stephens - has been good to blood him but forced by VVD injury and Reed's appalling January window? Seems Nurse will also point to Forster going rapidly backwards, Bertrand fed up, Davis fading, PEH in rotten form, Clasie good display V WBS and ignored since, Long a shadow of last season, J Rod fed up.
  10. Yep, absolutely. That was unacceptable - I can accept a long journey and a defeat but I expect a modicum of effort - and only Ryan, Oriol, Cedric and Jack offered that today. Hard to judge Gabi as the service wasn't there - Boufal, Tadic and Redmond would struggle to get a game at Torquay on that evidence. Time the first two were shipped out. No movement, no effort, going through the motions and the penalty said it all. I've wanted KL to stay in charge and do not want Lander at any cost. However, IF she does want to sell then I hope it happens before the end of the season and the new owners employ a manager who inspires his players. New manager and new attitude needed. Watson can hold the fort for the rest of the season. Alas, I can't see a decision being made until the ownership is resolved.
  11. Or alternatively Carlos Kickaball/Jack play DMC with Romeu suspended given Clasie is out of favour and S Davis probably injured. Just saying.
  12. Section of the Pompey fans not obsessed by the scummers? Doesn't look like it judging by Merovingian's post. Just need the toy salesman back as well now - what was his name? Never go on POL as with this thread and the power of cut and paste, there's no need! Besides, there's plenty of comedy material minus POL at the blue end of the M27.
  13. I disagree, Long's finishing is awful but at least he pulls the opposition's defence around which creates space. J Rod is so blunt Bournemouth and Prague are examples. Hopefully the last game Gabi misses and we have him back at Hawthorns. Much better second half - Yoshi's league goals are rare but always crucial, JWP has added goal threat and Redmond was one of few players to turn up both halves. Bit of luck with the woodwork and first goal but earned with pathetic handball bottle by the officials. MP and Spurs helped us and looking rather healthier. Pamplemousse's 1% looks more realistic now. Palace looked dangerous but defensive injuries told, will be fine. W Ham v Swansea is a bit tasty now though...
  14. Because he is c rap
  15. Good call. Take Dusan off for him
  16. PEH is Davis's long term replacement I reckon but neither look vaguely threatening near goal
  17. Brighton and Newcastle wouldn't go up if they had to rely on Long and J Rod. Gabi and Austin only proper to flight strikers we have
  18. Either loss of concentration or eyesight problems. At least he levelled it up but shouldn't have put himself in that position. Video evidence would reduce glaring errors and also any temptation in other games of corruption.
  19. No excuse for not using it either. Doesn't hold up the game. Dinosaurs opposing it.
  20. Agree, and he was s h i t Sat as well. PEH at least would add some energy.
  21. So wish you were right. Spurs will get something second half at Swans. Get a point tonight, Gabo fit to win V Boro and Hull and then a right sort out in the summer. Decent net spend this time and plenty of deadwood to go. Build around FF, Cedric, VVD. Bertrand, Jack, Romeu, Redmond and Gabi. Yoshi, JWP and Sims good competition. Rest can go.
  22. Thank f u c k. Get Davis or JWP off though, Caceres on and Stephens into DMC. Need to get Romeu further forward to add energy and compete
  23. Favourites for last relegation spot if results and trends stay the same. Pathetic management to expose Stephens to Benteke but Puel just won't say no to Les. Pick Caceres and go down with a fight. Better to be sacked trying and being your own man. Only saviour might Gabbiadini fit for Boro and Hull - 2 must win games now.
  24. I thought FF was OK on Saturday actually, one collision with JS apart where FF needs to growl more. The pen was down to Moss being an idiot. Came and collected better and Bournemouth's late run of chances stemmed from a tired, stale midfield stopping tracking runs (bar OR) and exposing our back 4 who had to make some stick or twist decisions. The bigger problem is the midfield. Davis faded and taking JWP off didn't work out. PEH in for some fresh legs tonight. OR is the only screen and when you've had Morgan, Victor and VW/OR as last season's run-in screen, it makes you a hell of a lot more solid. Caceres was clearly brought in to cover JS/MY but I'd push JS into midfield to make us more solid if Maya is fresh enough to feature tonight. Got to use Caceres at some point.
