    Caceres

I'm expecting him to play as well. Put Stephens alongside Romeu if Yoshida isn't tired from the travel (expecting MC and JS as CBs for that reason). Midfield was dire in last 30 minutes on Sat and if they aren't going to gamble and make forward runs then we have to be more solid and bore our way to a point or nick three.
  2. Quite. Low risk, especially if Gabbiadini is deemed fit in the next week or so but with Hull at home to Boro any Saints fan who thinks we don't have to be careful is a buffoon. As it happens, I've a feeling Boro will nick something at the KC and that we might nick a point off Palace - 1-1. We were decent for the 1st 60 minutes on Sat but the midfield needs a big overhaul in the summer. Nobody bar Tadic gambles and sadly his finishing is woeful when we need goal threat. Thankfully, so was Afobe's in an even worse miss when they had us 2 on 1. Benteke and co will not miss those chances tonight. With Palace's missing defenders, Long is a must to stretch a makeshift back 4, draw fouls and our midfield have to step up to the plate. Time that PEH got another go and rest a tired JWP or Davis. It's a choice between Boufal and Tadic behind the striker and I'd risk Boufal as even out of form, he can commit defenders and can shoot.
  3. PST Gold - Lol. Although the fish food aisle would be more appropriate. Fish counter would have better visibility, except post-match when the blue few purchase some Saturday evening consolation after a dispiriting home defeat to Wycombe or Morecambe.
  4. Some Watford fans I know pointed how many penalties they've had and weren't happy at some given against Watford when the teams met. So a little bit of rivalry and was clear they wanted a Saints win and was said to me that isn't an isolated view. Mind you, going by the WHU game there's no guarantee they'll score them! Then again, Fraser isn't having the best of seasons.
  5. Not to mention a ground that less than a decade old, Marchwood, Jackson's Farm possibly as well. Shows how tinpot Lowe and Wilde were really. To make FP safe probably requires a few million investment and that's before it was boxed in by Tesco. No real training ground either and plenty of new sites for a new stadium have been poo-pooed. The guy needs to invest £50-100m on infrastructure at today's costs to make them even slightly competitive in the Championship and that's before any player investment. If the former owners wouldn't do that in the top flight, why would somebody do it in L2? Plymouth and Home Park is good comparison - 3 sides already done, investor funding the new Grandstand, modern parking and rail links outside. Similar fanbase and potential - you'd opt for them if you had to buy a club at that level. Plus their credit rating can't be any worse and no PST politics to wade through.
  6. Add Torquay United to that list - although 'we're on our way to the Conference South' rather than the football league would have been more appropriate...
  7. Unlucky lads, with the Tadic sitter and appalling pen non decision cost us a deserved point. MG injury not too bad. 11 v 14 is always hard. Andre Marriner - he's one of Spurs. After the EFL as well, do what Big Sam did with Barry Knight and ban the c unt from SMS
  8. Lino on the other side at it now - wants his cut
  9. If Davis has tackled Dier it's a foul and a booking. If it's Eric Dier, the man in Spurs shirt won't give a foul
  10. Quelle surprise - Victor booked. Tadic knows Victor is about!
  11. Not at Stevenage's Conference South standard ground yesterday.
  12. JWP showed Tadic how to be composed in that position - head over ball and connect well where keeper will struggle to get down. Surprised Marriner didn't find a reason to disallow it!
  13. Fraser couldn't do much about that goal - taken early, slight deflection and unsighted. Also great stop from the corner at 1-0. Only really one cross he should have claimed. Stephens has been a bigger problem and surely last game before Caceres gets a start. Gabbiadini only a strain apparently. Ref misses another blatant shirt pull!
  14. Even if Marriner didn't see it, effing Lino should have done. What is it with Marriner's blind linos? Souness and Redknapp astonished that Quinn disagreeing it should have been a pen!
  15. Was a stonewall pen - Marriner must be on commission to have given the Spurs one and not the blatant foul on Tadic. Get Caceres on and Stephens at DMC. Spurs dirty - Dier could have gone for foul on Redmond. How was that different to Huddlestone yesterday. Poor defending for lead up to their penalty.
  16. I agree with your post apart from the first sentence. Ibra bullied Fonte and VVD in August at OT in the league. Reality is that player and club grew apart and we got at least 50% of his replacement cost (Ake or maybe less than 50% for Semedo) when he was on the wane. He hasn't pulled up any trees so far but may do better as he beds in. Wouldn't boo him as bought for £1.2m and sold for £8-9m at 33. Did great for us but we move on.
  17. Stuart MacGill is also a fantastic mentor to have for the winter - fair play to NSW. Hopefully Warney will help during the summer if he is around.
  18. Great news for Mason and rare in Australian state cricket.
  19. 1 point from home games with Morecambe and Crewe - dear oh dear. Never been that keen on Luton since the plastic pitch and away fans ban in the David Evans days but putting all that aside and cheering them on for 3rd.
  20. Martina and Isgrove - free Clasie £10m - being left out of the cup final squad is a message J Rod - £10m Targett - preferably on loan but with contract winding down I'd reckon a sell for a few million with McQueen's emergence Gardos - undisclosed but probably have to pay him to go for his final year? Probably a loan with us paying a % Reed - loan to Championship or sale. Hesketh ditto but loan until Xmas to get match fitness and compete for 1st team after that Taylor and Gazza With Fonte's replacement 50% paid for (Ake please) that leaves a pot of fees and wages, plus a bit of the TV deal if the Telegraph article was correct for a: DMC, AMC and striker IMO we need to get Forster fit rather than sell. Sign the young Nice keeper as competition with McCarthy if he looks useful.
  21. Watch it now multiply on POL - Six scummers got ironed out, jealous of their 1-1 thumping of Morecambe as they soared into the division 4 automatic places. Shame he probably didn't get to do it when Lee Molyneux - a very short term ex-Scummer from our darkest ever days - what was probably a fluke and undeserved equaliser.
  22. Nice one Trousers, right on cue. Time to persuade the Costa Coffee at work to make one...
  23. If your former employer had gone bust owing you a load of money, you wouldn't be queuing up to laud them or celebrate or reminisce with them about brief glory days funded by Gaydamak's 'interesting' funding Agreed, ignore them. SFC are far more likely to be at those occasions in the rest of our lifetimes. PFC are stuck with L1 mid-table at best in their business plan. Can't see a Markus type buyer either with the state of their Kipper Shed, chances of relocation slim to none and credit rating.
