It did, and god they were boring. I remember being at SMS watching them beat us 0 - 1 with an 80 odd minute goal, their only attempt on target and actually feeling sorry for their fans...!! It worked for us the season before and god we were boring, got to eight, a cup final and sacked the manager.

Tend to agree. It's not just about understanding we got to a WC semi-final, it's understanding that the opportunity only comes around every 4 years and it's highly unlikely we will get such a favorable draw for many years to come. We started well yesterday and were in pole position, even going into the second half we were one nil up in a 'next goal wins' game and we blew it. If we had got a second I think we'd have done it, but as soon as they scored you knew how it was ending. Credit where it's due, we did well to get that far, but under analysis, you'd be foolish to think that we are close to the real top sides.

Tend to agree with the OP, we do look weak up top. Perhaps we're thinking that if we shore up well at the back we'll be difficult to beat and only need to score the odd goal to take the points. If I've learned anything in this close season it's that we have some quite strange people on this forum, I think it's quite sad though when you have people who actually talk to themselves. I only use this and 2 other message boards on a regular basis, the other two being music orientated. I have never experienced any trolling of any sort on the other message boards at all, it just doesn't happen. I know they say that there are trolls all over the internet but this is the only place that I've actually experienced it. Hope he does really well. The games I saw him in he was no worse than the rest and always looked to give it his all. Unfortunately he plays in a position which means many will judge him solely on goals and so that makes it fairly easy to knock the lad. Who knows, if he'd come into a better team things might have been different, but when you look at the slack that Shane Long gets on his goal record, I'm not about to slate Guido.
