Yeah - just bought tickets for it myself. 5 quid for my lad - a bargain, and probably helping to shift a few. But I reckon it will pretty much be full, which I think would indicate that season ticket sales have been pretty much on par with last season.

Difficult to tell really - we got badly embarrassed by Augsburg, but then beat Sevilla 2 nil, 3 or 4 days later. We were shocking against Augsburg and moderately better against Sevilla so friendlies can give you some indication as to the sort of form we are going to show. Even at the first game of the season though, West Ham, we didn't look particularly good, got a win, but that was more to do with the fact that they went down to 10 and we got a last minute pen. I was at Pride Park and we were miles off the pace of Derby, poor all over the field, would struggle to take any positives out of what I saw. Had a look at their forum and quite a few were surprised about how bad we were and have us down as certain for relegation. I'm generally a pretty positive person when it comes to the new season, but I really think we have to improve quite markedly over the next couple of weeks or we will be pretty much in for a season similar to the last.

I think Hoedt is probably where Maya was a couple of years ago. Has promise but needs time to learn, there's a 'mistake a game' in him, and some of those will lead to goals against. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

How many tickets are left for the Burnley game. Should give you some idea of the uptake. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

After what I saw at Derby, *a long hard season, much the same as last. *I reserve the right to amend that assessment on a weekly basis depending on what I witness on and off the field.

Exactly, performance, attitude and application are very good indicators. We lacked badly today in all of the aforementioned. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Was at the game and we were pretty much second best for the whole of the 90 minutes. All of the faults have been highlighted in many of the posts prior to this, we were very slow all over the pitch and not physically strong either. The amount of times that a ball was simply flicked around the corner for their runners was amazing - that's all it took for them to get in. We were weak in..., actually thinking about it we were weak all over the park, and our attacking intent (intent may not be a very good word) was minimal. People have referenced the Augsburg friendly from last season, I was at that game as well and came away thinking that we were going to be in for a long hard season - and so it proved right. I know we still have lots of friendlies to play - but I'm of exactly the same impression - we are not very good at all. New guys, Moi tried hard, showed little glimpses, almost a clone of Tadic but not sure that he's as good. Jan, mistake for the goal, you either take the ball, the player or both, or you get punished. Won corners in the box (as you would expect), attempt at goal and another headed down but nobody gambled. As I said, pretty poor all round, but hopefully we have time to sort it out. Not going to get too downhearted just yet - but from here, the only way has to be up.

15 quid. I'll be there with my FiL and youngest boy. Relaxing afternoon in the sun watching a new dawn of Saints. What's not to like. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Lemina - pure class, keep him - will be great under a decent manager.

Thanks batman, my kids are in floods of tears now coz all the other kids are getting Saints shirts, but I'm still too stingy to buy them for my kids...! Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

That's why I would've given it as well, if he doesn't handle it it's going across the face of goal less than 6 yard out. Whether that's right by the rules I don't know, but I thought it was a pen.

Even at 10 mil I'm not that fussed. I don't know who, but I'd like us to go for one more marquee signing in this position. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Everton are the team that we are looking to emulate. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Never mind appearances, I would make the add ons subject to the number of goals he gets..! Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Yep, wouldn't disagree with any of that, but I also think that one of our problems is that we don't have any truly world class players. We have some very good players, but none in the class of a Modric, Hazard or DeBrunne. Trippier, I thought was our outstanding player, but he still needs to prove that kind of level over time. We are a decent team, but quite a way off the top teams. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Once you start a rumour you need to continue to add fuel (more rumour and supposition) to the fire, otherwise the rumour will just peter out. Ergo you need multiple posts (and logins, some would say). Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

It was a joke, an embarrassment. Why they picked that level of opposition for a pre-season friendly, good only knows. But if I was anything to do with Everton I would be trying to hide that result away, not have it plastered all over the BBC. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Just means that they have pitched their pre-season friendly at far too low a level. Just as well of beasted them with a beep test and a 10 miler, would've been much more beneficial. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
