  1. Was at the game and we were pretty much second best for the whole of the 90 minutes. All of the faults have been highlighted in many of the posts prior to this, we were very slow all over the pitch and not physically strong either. The amount of times that a ball was simply flicked around the corner for their runners was amazing - that's all it took for them to get in. We were weak in..., actually thinking about it we were weak all over the park, and our attacking intent (intent may not be a very good word) was minimal. People have referenced the Augsburg friendly from last season, I was at that game as well and came away thinking that we were going to be in for a long hard season - and so it proved right. I know we still have lots of friendlies to play - but I'm of exactly the same impression - we are not very good at all. New guys, Moi tried hard, showed little glimpses, almost a clone of Tadic but not sure that he's as good. Jan, mistake for the goal, you either take the ball, the player or both, or you get punished. Won corners in the box (as you would expect), attempt at goal and another headed down but nobody gambled. As I said, pretty poor all round, but hopefully we have time to sort it out. Not going to get too downhearted just yet - but from here, the only way has to be up.
  2. 15 quid. I'll be there with my FiL and youngest boy. Relaxing afternoon in the sun watching a new dawn of Saints. What's not to like. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Sometimes it's good to take your own advice. He's making it up. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
  4. Lemina - pure class, keep him - will be great under a decent manager.

    Excellent.
  6. Thanks batman, my kids are in floods of tears now coz all the other kids are getting Saints shirts, but I'm still too stingy to buy them for my kids...! Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
  7. That's why I would've given it as well, if he doesn't handle it it's going across the face of goal less than 6 yard out. Whether that's right by the rules I don't know, but I thought it was a pen.

Even at 10 mil I'm not that fussed. I don't know who, but I'd like us to go for one more marquee signing in this position. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
  9. Everton are the team that we are looking to emulate. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

  11. Never mind appearances, I would make the add ons subject to the number of goals he gets..! Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
  12. Yep, wouldn't disagree with any of that, but I also think that one of our problems is that we don't have any truly world class players. We have some very good players, but none in the class of a Modric, Hazard or DeBrunne. Trippier, I thought was our outstanding player, but he still needs to prove that kind of level over time. We are a decent team, but quite a way off the top teams. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
  13. Once you start a rumour you need to continue to add fuel (more rumour and supposition) to the fire, otherwise the rumour will just peter out. Ergo you need multiple posts (and logins, some would say). Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
  14. It was a joke, an embarrassment. Why they picked that level of opposition for a pre-season friendly, good only knows. But if I was anything to do with Everton I would be trying to hide that result away, not have it plastered all over the BBC. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

  17. Just means that they have pitched their pre-season friendly at far too low a level. Just as well of beasted them with a beep test and a 10 miler, would've been much more beneficial. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
  18. Just bought tickets for the Derby friendly, anybody know what parking around Pride Park is like? Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
  19. He kept a horrible 'line' for that goal. Awful. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
  20. Looking at this, it's probably for the best that France never got hold of us in the final. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
  21. Surprised the Marines never broke any of them to be honest.
  22. They really didn't. They offered him what they thought was a fair deal and he declined. This is pretty normal business practice and each party had to make decisions based on business acumen, not loyalty of what had gone before. Fonte was a monster for us, and the fans will always acknowledge the part he played in our resurgence. But to say that he was massively slandered by the club is way off the mark. We just didn't see eye to eye on the terms of the final contract therefore we went our way and he his. Move on.
  23. As you would. It's not about our squad, it's not about SFC, it's not even about football - it's about people in every walk of life. If you are offered 'more', 'bigger', 'better' you'd be foolish to dismiss it out of hand purely on a 'loyalty' basis. Would you? I doubt it. Yoshi has been outstanding in his application, and in later years, his performances for us. If a bigger, better offer came in and he decided the time was right then that's his prerogative, I wouldn't begrudge him in any way, shape or form. Naturally, every so often a VvD will come by, and I agree that fans deserve much better than what he gave. But, luckily for us and football, he is the exception rather than the rule.
  24. For Saints fans, easily sorted...!!!
  25. I'm sorry but I'm just not having that, for a man of his size he is about as imposing as the 3 week old kitten the my bloody wife has just bought into the house. As for commanding in the air, you're joking, he's never in the air, his feet are permanently planted, by virtue of which makes him a decent shot stopper if the ball coincidentally hits him.
