That's why I would've given it as well, if he doesn't handle it it's going across the face of goal less than 6 yard out. Whether that's right by the rules I don't know, but I thought it was a pen.

Even at 10 mil I'm not that fussed. I don't know who, but I'd like us to go for one more marquee signing in this position. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Everton are the team that we are looking to emulate. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Never mind appearances, I would make the add ons subject to the number of goals he gets..! Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Yep, wouldn't disagree with any of that, but I also think that one of our problems is that we don't have any truly world class players. We have some very good players, but none in the class of a Modric, Hazard or DeBrunne. Trippier, I thought was our outstanding player, but he still needs to prove that kind of level over time. We are a decent team, but quite a way off the top teams. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Once you start a rumour you need to continue to add fuel (more rumour and supposition) to the fire, otherwise the rumour will just peter out. Ergo you need multiple posts (and logins, some would say). Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

It was a joke, an embarrassment. Why they picked that level of opposition for a pre-season friendly, good only knows. But if I was anything to do with Everton I would be trying to hide that result away, not have it plastered all over the BBC. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Just means that they have pitched their pre-season friendly at far too low a level. Just as well of beasted them with a beep test and a 10 miler, would've been much more beneficial. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Looking at this, it's probably for the best that France never got hold of us in the final. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Surprised the Marines never broke any of them to be honest.

They really didn't. They offered him what they thought was a fair deal and he declined. This is pretty normal business practice and each party had to make decisions based on business acumen, not loyalty of what had gone before. Fonte was a monster for us, and the fans will always acknowledge the part he played in our resurgence. But to say that he was massively slandered by the club is way off the mark. We just didn't see eye to eye on the terms of the final contract therefore we went our way and he his. Move on.

Jannik Vestergaard - Official: Signs for Leicester
Micky replied to ChiefScummer's topic in The Saints
As you would. It's not about our squad, it's not about SFC, it's not even about football - it's about people in every walk of life. If you are offered 'more', 'bigger', 'better' you'd be foolish to dismiss it out of hand purely on a 'loyalty' basis. Would you? I doubt it. Yoshi has been outstanding in his application, and in later years, his performances for us. If a bigger, better offer came in and he decided the time was right then that's his prerogative, I wouldn't begrudge him in any way, shape or form. Naturally, every so often a VvD will come by, and I agree that fans deserve much better than what he gave. But, luckily for us and football, he is the exception rather than the rule. -
For Saints fans, easily sorted...!!!

I'm sorry but I'm just not having that, for a man of his size he is about as imposing as the 3 week old kitten the my bloody wife has just bought into the house. As for commanding in the air, you're joking, he's never in the air, his feet are permanently planted, by virtue of which makes him a decent shot stopper if the ball coincidentally hits him.

It did, and god they were boring. I remember being at SMS watching them beat us 0 - 1 with an 80 odd minute goal, their only attempt on target and actually feeling sorry for their fans...!! It worked for us the season before and god we were boring, got to eight, a cup final and sacked the manager.

Tend to agree. It's not just about understanding we got to a WC semi-final, it's understanding that the opportunity only comes around every 4 years and it's highly unlikely we will get such a favorable draw for many years to come. We started well yesterday and were in pole position, even going into the second half we were one nil up in a 'next goal wins' game and we blew it. If we had got a second I think we'd have done it, but as soon as they scored you knew how it was ending. Credit where it's due, we did well to get that far, but under analysis, you'd be foolish to think that we are close to the real top sides.

Tend to agree with the OP, we do look weak up top. Perhaps we're thinking that if we shore up well at the back we'll be difficult to beat and only need to score the odd goal to take the points. Risky strategy, need another Pelle type player up top and hope that we are more creative in midfield than the last two years. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

I thought Rashford was awful, also, why was he taking free kicks. Surely he should be looking to get on the end off them. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
