This manager needs to learn really quickly that goals win games, not possession. Not only that, but we are going to need quite a lot of goals given our woeful defence and Bazes inability to save very much that is hit at him. I am really struggling to understand this policy of possession, when clearly it means the square root of fuck all. I won't refer to it as 'defending' because that would be an insult to professional defenders, but our attempts to stop the opposition scoring are frankly laughable. On this showing, not a hope in hell that we are anywhere near promotion, time to focus on some basics, never mind playing out from the back and worrying about possession, possession wins nothing, goals do. We look as if we've learned nothing from last season, just as soft on the pitch and mentally.

I wish the lad all the best. He may not be the most talented midfielder but he owes us nothing. You would rarely see him hide or not try, he obviously has a great affinity to the club but he has to do what's right for him. Thanks and farewell.

So all this pointless passive possession counts for absolutely nothing if you don't have the know how, or players to turn it into goals, so what is the point of making it a key area of our tactics? I would much rather have the lions share of the goals than the lions share of possession. Sounded like we were at our woeful worst tonight, it's going to be a long hard season.
