Sorry - but the question is lost on me mate - what about when it was free? It was free, and dare I say a damn good free site too. You also have the option not to pay the subscription if you so wish. The fact that the site experiences a few technical difficulties now and then is not uncommon. I have had much worse problems with major corporate sites such as Sky and the BBC - so a few minor hitches here is hardly the end of the world. Yes we were told that the server specification would be updated to cater for matchday demand, and that has happened. The fact that we are still experiencing problems is, I'm sure, not down to the fact that the volunteers running this site have done a runner with our subscription money. I pay Sky £50 a month and still have issues with their service so for the 5 quid a year that I have subcribed to TSF I find the LoS to be excellent.

I believe that he is talking about the planned 'Black Rose Protest', where fans were asked to buy a rose (black symbolising the death of the club), or wreath and lay it at the foot of TB statue prior to the Cardiff game. I think the picture is there to prove that this protest didn't happen - or at best was very very poorly attended.

I really cannot believe that you typed any of that. So after all the criticism that you have levelled here, you (allegedly) are more than aware of the time, effort, commitment and sheer hard work that goes into trying to maintain a successful web presence. Yet you folded it because you basically couldn't be arsed - brilliant. That is of course your perogitive, but we have people here who (at their own expence) can be arsed, and many more who are grateful for their efforts, therefore they should get all the support that we can offer. As for your assumption that Baj wouldn't tolerate you advertising your wares on his patch - I would beg to differ: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=11031 BTW - please tell me that you are not SF76....?????
-
The idea of a chatroom was good - the execution, I grant you, poor. That said when I logged onto it Baj was in there trying to administer it - he was asking users if they were experiencing problems. He then recognised that the chatroom was eating server resouces and closed it - thus restoring normal service on here. As for the advice given - I think Baj explained why he declined some of it at the time. You continually seem to cite what you had on 4ES - if it is/was that good - why is it not here today...????
-
What - good advice, like go to a forum with - errr no people on it. I can't see too many other snippets of constructive criticism either. By all means - make a point that the services was not particualarly good, but let's not go overboard. The site is run by volunteers - let's not drive them away.
-
Can't see too much agression there personally - frustration maybe, but by my book the guy did his best. Your continual questioning is toutamount to harassment - which would drive me to close the whole effin site. From what I've experienced here, this is one of the best football forums that I have seen. There is a small fee to use all of it's facilities, you choose to pay that at your discretion. But even with the few problems that have been experienced - the guys running this site still give good value for money. If you really have serious issues with the running of this forum, why not go to forever saints as you tried to get other to do. Its free and I have been monitoring it now for about 2 hours - there is only 1 user on line - must be me then!!
-
Hoobloodyray..... at last - the voice of reason appeared....
-
Ok time to turn this into a Lowe Out thread too now - so in light of the problems experienced here can anybody actually tell me of a viable alternative to this site / forum...???

A narrow loss away at Birmingham is hardly the end of the world - if we had been safely mid table, people would have expected that result. It's how we react to this that counts - too many people seem to be focused on the teams around us. Nobody is going to do us any favours - it's up to us to fight our way out. It's still doable and there is still time for the tide to change in our favour. Don't loose the faith just yet.

Whilst I understand that people may be a little annoyed at the matchday service here, I have to say that when you look at the overall services that this forum provides, at £5 a year it equals excellent value for money. Yes there have been some issues but the Administrator have not hidden and have tried to resolve them quickly while keeping us in the picture. For that I personally would like to thank them. As for Stanley and his site - his heart maybe in the right place or he may just be pimping for customers to a forum that, although free, hardly comes anywhere near this one - and when I last checked today had 3 people on line and the most ever was 76. I'm sorry, but for the price of a 'pie and a pint' - I still think that the annual subscription rate to this forum is well worth the money. There - can't see me getting too many infraction points from here on in...!
-
Not sure that this is the place to query that Neil, but I'm sure if you PM Baj he will be able to sort you out. I paid using PayPal and was a full member in less than half an hour if my memory serves me correctly - didn't take long at all.

Perhaps a 'set peice' that 'arry taught him while he was down here...!!!
-
No TDD - they want to know if you'll 'pay' not 'play'...!!!!
-
Errr after 45 minutes I'm worried that my heart will have run out...!!!!
-
I am - but I would have to fly to Sweden in order to do so - therefore probably a waste of time I guess...!!!!!
-
Ahhh good to see that this match is not being taken lightly and a strict training regime has obviously already kicked in...!

Yes I am aware of Saints Forever - posted there myself. I think also that RL will have learned lessons from his (alleged) participation. Having re-read you last post I can now see that what you said was that Lowe hate Saints Forever and not Saints forever..!! However, as I alluded to before - I really see little benefit to SFC staff other than to guage the hot topics. And remember we are not the majority - Lowe will pay us little credance - a bit like those who protested. There were 500 - 1000 protesting fans outside of SMS and 14000 'content' fans inside SMS - that is how it will be perceived by RL and probably those who hold no opinion either way.
-
Surely they will take his money and he will then be banned after his first post on a technicality...!!!!
-
Gemmel - I accept that he may of in past resorted to some sort of activity here - be it himself or via a 3rd party - I will take your word for it - I have no other evidence. I'm afraid that most of the so called 'facts' or 'factual information' that I have seen posted here is of sceptical origin to say the least. That said - I'm sure that 'staff of the club' do indeed 'pop in' from time to time to get some sort of opinion as to what is being said about the club. But we who frequent this board are not the majority of fans - we are the minority, therefore I doubt that too much heed is taken about most threads within the walls of SMS. I'm not too sure where you get the 'hate' thing from - I'm afraid that just makes absolutely no sence whatsoever to me. Any business man who works in a company that he 'hates' will either leave or destroy the company as quickly as possible. As we all know RL has shares in the company and he is probably really only trying desperately to hold on to those shares - turn the share price around, and not lose too much money into the bargain. The fact that he has made a total mess of SFC since his return is not here or there - I really don't think that he 'hates' the club at all. Bloody minded, misguided, overpowering - yes - but at the end of the day a businessman who has ****ed it up and is now desperately trying to sort the shyte. Does he really have time to attend to a few cyberwarriors such as ourselves at a time like this - I doubt it very much. If Nineteen Canteen has been hired to try to brainwash us all into becoming Pro-Lowe then I wouldn't pay him a dime - cause he's turned nobody as far as I can tell.
-
Ahhhh right so now he's back to try again is he...??? No doubt if NC keeps posting at least one of us will have turned from anti - to pro Lowe by .... errrr, well by, well maybe in a years time. Great use of resources Mr Lowe - one man sat trying to overturn the majority political stance on an internet forum. Any other real PR firsts you'd like to put by us?
-
Sorry Holbury but I just couldn't help laughing at this. Do you really believe that Rupert Lowe has somebody sat with a couple of hundred people on an internet forum trying to 'turn' them...? Even somebody who he had a hold over? What - is he bribing NC? You sound desperate for NC to 'own up - repent - see the light, vote Lowe out'. Listen mate, I really doubt that NC has any connection to Lowe, but he does hold a different veiw to yours - I would get used to it if I were you. Labelling people such as Bum buddies is probably not going to do your cause too much good either - we'er just getting over the Luvvie syndrome - so a new annecdote is probably not called for right now. NC may not be in the majority - but his views are hardly neo nazi - and they are more than relevant.
-
Sorry - but just who is stark raving mad? And just who is 'we all'. Are you talking for every single SFC fan in the world, all of those that march before matches, perhaps those that attend matches or maybe just the season ticket holder then? Such statements are pretty pathetic to be quite honest - there are many sides to the issue, and you claiming that yours is the only way does absolutely nothing to strengthen the 'Lowe out' vote. By all means give your opinion - but please don't just assume that everybody shares your opinion.
-
Glad to see that it looks like reaching a conclusion that we all hoped for - good luck to the lad, personally I would like to see him at SMS next year (to watch the football) - would go a long way to building bridges with apposing fans. Good luck to him though.
-
So after all of that fence sitting, can I ask, will you be protesting at home games for the rest of the season? FWIW - If I was in a position to protest - I would not. As I have stated elsewhere I am pretty fickle, and if the results are coming on the pitch I couldn't give two hoots who is in the boardroom. I think JFP pretty much summed it up in his post. BTW - Did the 'Black Rose' protest take place before the Cardiff game - and was it a success?
