You'll forgive me if I ignore your advice this time round - I'm all for a bit of happy clapping (whatever that may be) with the best part of 40 games to go still. I'll judge the players, manager and board after the event - only fair - dont you think...!!! Come on you happy clappers - get behind the lads.....

Is this just a 'practice thread' for the same old faces who want to dig the knife deep, give it a good old twist and then kick the guy in the ******** on the way down, at the first sign of trouble. Instead of raking over old ground, continually hounding a manager who, whether you like it or not has gone on to bigger and better things - why not support the current manager, look for some positives (theres plenty there), support the team you profess to love and stop 'ucking whinging at every conceivable opportunity. Who knows - you might actually start to enjoy supporting Saints.

No spin here - played two, lost two, 6 points down the pan, bottom of the CCC after the first week of the season, playing with a bunch of kids who have little experience at this level, coached by a pair of unproven Dutch guys, SMS half empty, RL off loading players to try to balance the books - I accept all of these facts. But if your going to throw in the towel after 2 games of the season then I suspect that you have little determination, grit or stamina. I'm pretty sure that that the staff at SMS will take a different stance and won't be going to the corner for the 'white flag' just yet. Rose tinted glasses - noooooo just a little justifiable optimism...!

The point is - this is not obvious. At least it would appear not to be obvious to 90 per cent of the posters here who actually saw the game today. I personally could not give a FF about the directors at all - if we get it right on the pitch, the rest of the club will look after itself. (partial indirect quote from Jason Dodd) As for truth, are you implying that all of the poster on here that have so far said that we did ok today, are in fact, lying. If this is the case then perhaps you could enlighten me as to the truth, what really happened today - or weren't you there?

DIdnt say that you had taken a pop at the new management. But your quite willing to allow Alpines view to stand - who has a backhanded pop at the new team - after only two games. Quite willing to back him up by bringing up the old Burley argument - which again is still neither black nor white. Agreed the board is for opinions - if you don't want to get involved in AS's, (or other peoples for that matter) then refrain from supportive comments, quoting my or other users posts.

Appears that the cavalry have arrived. Could argue all night about Burley - but its done, dusted and the doors closed. The argument was nothing to do with attendances at all. It was to do with making fool arsed negative comments such as 'it will all be over by christmas', after two (difficult) games, yet the poster had seen neither....!!!! If you call yourself a fan, with an attitude and outlook like that - why bother - go and support a 'glory team' elsewhere.

Surely this is not the beginning of the 'lets slaughter the manager for lack of tactical awareness' period. After only two games to - my, my - almost Burleyesque type posting..!!

Judging by the comments from those who were actually there, none have said that we are certs for relegation. Likewise none have been ridiculously optimistic either (there are no 'we will walk this leaguers' here), no one has even mentioned play offs or promotion. Therefore I can only conclude that they are giving a true balanced opinion based on what they have witnessed and are not committing 'treason' by being wildly optimistic. Were you there?
