Missed, saved, hit post - not sure...!

Decent first time finish from Shane there.

The point I was making was that he thought he was heading towards more Premiership football at Old Trafford, instead ended up at an Athletics stadium where he fared pretty badly and was then offloaded to China. If your looking at the wonga only, fine he probably did ok - but he missed the club that he originally thought was interested, by some distance.

The simple answer to this is that everybody did ok. The first team players all gave good performances and the fringe players didn't embarrass themselves. That said, I didn't think that any of the youngsters played well enough to stake a real claim. Smallbone was neat and tidy, but I don't think he could dominate and run a game just yet, but definitely one for the future. I thought both Bertie and Cedric both played well and I wouldn't be disappointed if he stayed. Ings looked sharp and got his goals and PEH also put in a good shift as well. Generally though, as I said, everybody did ok. I remember this time last year being at the Baseball Ground as we were getting dicked 3 nil to Derby County and as I was coming away I was thinking we are going to struggle, and we duly did. Looking at the game today, taking into account Ralf, new players, Chey, Rom, JWP, Vest, Maya etc. I feel a whole lot more optimistic than I did a year ago. Sent from my SM-T590 using Tapatalk

Nice day here at Deepdale, I think we're doing ok seeing as it's a mix of regulars, fringe and shop window players. Looking forward to the 2nd half. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

I was thinking the same myself, but I think he's injured or not eligible until 1st August. Sent from my SM-T590 using Tapatalk

Totally agree, but there comes a point though where 'beggars can't be choosers', and if he want to play he needs to decide whether he really is going to get better options than what he's already got. Sometimes players can freeze themselves out because they listen to paper and agent talk, when there's not much substance. I'm not saying this is the case with Mario, but lets be honest, as far as we can tell the phone has not been ringing of the hook at SMS since he announced he was ready to join a bigger project. Jose Fonte, head turned by Man Utd, ended up at WHU and then China. The grass is not always greener.

I think it was because Mad Mike didn't share the same vision and aspirations for the club that Rafa did in terms of signings. Mind you, lets face it, a signing like Charlie Austin would be a real show of intent for this season - toon army would be blown away.

Who are you venting at specifically? I don't see too many people getting on at the player, some would like him to stay, others not that bothered if he leaves. Given what he's shown so far, and how much he contributed last season, you can clearly see why opinion is split. As for the parasites, as you put it, I think you need to step away from your 'make his life hell' plan for a bit, calm down, and visit the real world. Sent from my SM-T590 using Tapatalk

Perhaps Danny had been offered a better position. Just speculating. Sent from my SM-T590 using Tapatalk

I don't know what his wages are / were, but I was listening to Simon Jordan on TalkSport a couple of months ago and he was saying that Birmingham City were actually paying him more than we were!

Good old Crouchie - gotta love the guy, even though all my memories are bad ones...!!! Everton at home in the relegation season, why didn't he blaze that shot into the crowd, row z it instead of tamely at the keeper? He scored for us in that game as well...! Couple of years ago away at the Bet 365, comes on in the last couple of minutes and yep, gets a tap in for the winner - took dogs abuse going down the tunnel, but just shrugged at us and sort of said 'sorry lads...!' Last year at Burnley as well - we all knew what was coming. Good lad though, and a better player than he probably gets credit for, and made a damn good career for himself. Wish him all the best, honestly think he was one of those players who tried hard for every club he played for.

One thing that does intrigue me a little with this whole VAR thing is where are they getting the people from to man the 'VAR Stations'? How many do they need, at least 4 I believe? It's difficult to get 4 decent 'on field' officials for a game in the Prem, where on earth are we suddenly getting twice as many qualified, good officials from to man these VAR Stations?
