  1. Thought Mills was fantastic today..MOM after Kelvin who was immense. Really, Ajax turned up the tempo in the last 20mins, which showed in the final score. Texted the Mrs after Mills' goal - 'WE'RE BEATING AJAX!!!'....ah well it didn't last but it was a good game. BTW I could see from the Northam that it was never a penalty.... Lowlights for me...Molyneux in 2nd half, thought he did ok in the 1st considering who he was up against. Lallana is too lightweight..and ineffective - one fancy flick and that was it. Rasiak and Saga - GET RID NOW When Rommedahl came on, Ajax looked much more dangerous.
  2. Hypo...worse than Molyneux? Or Gasmi? Or Schneiderlin? Or Liptak? Sorry, don't agree. When Euell was playing last season you COULD see the difference. Our organisation improved - and the effort was there (perhaps not the season before..) When it comes down to it, we have been dis-organised for the last two years on the pitch - at least now we can settle things down. Having seen the Bournemouth display, Euell could do much better than..say 9 of them that played that day. Simples. Stern? Yes without a doubt. Shift on Rasiak and Saga - unless they put in top draw effort from today.
  3. What's the betting that all the programme sellers are wearing the away tops then..?? Cynical I know.. ;-)
  4. Because Rudi Skacel wasn't there to wave. Simples...
  5. That's pretty good value, my previous firm did Matchball Sponsorship v Bristol C a couple of years back, cost us about £1500 then which we thought was good value, considering you got a table of 10 in the Channon, ad in the programme and big screen ads..
  6. +1...marvellous...
  7. ..and to think some of us got slated on here for criticising Lallana after Saturday...seems like nothing improved there then...
  8. Would have preferred all yellow...or yellow and navy stripes... But then again, all kits seem to be returning to the 80's in style...Everton and West Ham's both look like their from 1985... Won't be buying it... BUT....better than last season's god-awful Grey kit...
  9. Not many posts make me laugh out loud but that one did.... Basically with Pompey it's a 30 year inferiority complex that they can't let go of. TBH what they should have done sans our relegation was forget about us, but they can't. Could it be they realise their success is built on quicksand?
  10. I did say it was out of 'leftfield'.... Tony Adams managed in the Prem last season, but that doesn't make him acceptable tho...just playing Devil's Advocate for a minute...
  11. Chris Nicholl and Nick Holmes? Both have strong links, and understand the club - CN managed well in the lower leagues after Saints (plus the NI job)...Nick Holmes has the knowledge of the non-league scene to be able to spot some bargains... CN was also now under-rated by us I feel (myself included) - his record actually was very good when compared to those that followed... CN as Manager with NH as Assistant? Would do for me...
  12. Can we add Chris Nicholl please?
  13. Chris Nicholl was not very interesting in interviews...bloody good manager though as it turned out - arguably one of our best. Any chance of getting him back please?
  14. Nothing like loyalty eh? How about we swop Lallana and get Surman back? Good deal allround...we get back someone who wants to play for the club and get rid of one who just spits out his dummy...
  15. ..if all the threads on the potential new manager are getting on top of you...to lighten the evening... I did think using the title of 'Highlights from Dean Court'...but that would be a bit sarcastic...;-)
  16. Nigel Quashie? Need him in midfield IMO...
  17. My hope for the next week is that we sign some experienced heads (no need to splash the cash) and enhance our squad with some fitness and fight. Quashie on loan?? No more Groundhog Days like yesterday please...
  18. Based on his performances last season for us..if he was anywhere else in the CCC I don't think he would have been a regular... For me with Lallana there is no END PRODUCT. Whether its our inherent need to think we have the next MLT on the books or not I don't know, but I don't get why we get the love-in over a player, who only a few days ago was rumoured to be refusing the play for the club. KJ was villified from the day he refused to play - now all of a sudden Lallana's golden boy - am I watching a different player to some of you? I'd love someone to find some stats on his performances last season - goals, assists, completed passes etc.. Yesterday in the first half upfront with Rasiak he looked lively, in the 2nd half it was normal service resumed - lots of lovely flick ons that invariably ended up with Bournemouth players...no strength on or off the ball...no shooting whatsoever... The fact that Paterson's goal was just about the only time that one of our players tried to score speaks volumes..also that only 3 players bothered to walk across and applaud our support yesterday again says it all. And please don't give me the old guff about Friendlies not meaning anything...Wotton looked 110% ******ed with our performance yesterday - yes he's a basic player but he CARES.
  19. Which makes it even more crazy...you could have fitted their whole support in HALF of their main stand...
  20. Well he produced today as much as a youngster brought over from Jersey by Michael Wilde - fair comparison????? Boyle impressed me more than Lallana...
  21. Rasiak should be the first one shipped out....not even mediocre. Slower than usual today, poor first touch.... Lallana...better in 1st half upfront, poncy and completely ineffective 2nd half - for someone so championed by some, he's actually not that productive. Jack Boyle looked lively, Perry was solid as was Lancashire, LB 1st half good, Lloyd James very good in Centre Mid. Bournemouth's youngsters looked livelier, hungrier and FITTER - we looked sluggish.
  22. I don't think a comparison between Ray Wilkins and Adam Lallana is valid to be honest...
  23. Hypo...he just didn't look interested today. Slower to react than normal. Only shot on goal was a backheel in mid-air from a cross...
  24. The majority of the team played today remained the same throughout the 90mins. They were slow, ineffective and Bournemouth showed us up at times - fitter and hungrier. We needed a reality check - this was it.
