  1. We were absolutely brilliant last night. Defended like our lives depended on it, rode our luck (against City you’ll have to) and played on the break brilliantly. Every single player put 100% effort in. Fantastic. I thought Stephens was superb, showed he can do it! Now we need to play like the away team at home all the time!
  2. He will be profoundly right in a couple of months time!
  3. Why is the picture quality on Pick tv so appalingly bad?
  4. Not just Saints keepers who have a mistake in them then..... Well finished Danny Ings 😁
  5. You can only cheer what is put in front of you. If the football is poor, the supporters are hardly going to be buzzing! i believe there is a far more fundamental reason we are awful at home and decent away - sadly it is because, other than Bertrand, our defence is awful. Whoever plays at cb x 2 and rb are not really good enough. Too many mistakes, positional play is awful, can’t read the game and where the ball is going etc etc. But they are the same players away from home! Yes, yes they are. Far better shielded by a deeper midfield, and we play on the break, relying on a quick ball forward and trying to get in behind the opposition. At home we play out from the back, trying to pass our way forwards. We try and do the attacking. We lose possession, and with players committed forward, our very soft underbelly defence is fully exposed. Often with comedy defending resulting in easy goals for away teams. We can’t cope with away teams who play at St Mary’s like we do away. Every visiting team can see our back 4 is vulnerable, and patiently wait to exploit it. They know a chance will come, they know a mistake is always in the offing, and almost always we oblige. Anybody who thinks our defence is any good is in my opinion wrong. It’s the root cause of our terrible home form. It’s shaky, vulnerable, badly organised and a disaster always in the making when we lose the ball in the opponents half, and the opposition break at pace on us. Since vvd left we have not had a good quality cb. until we either:- a) play on the break at home and invite teams onto us, and exploit gaps at the back, as we do away or b) get 2 good quality cb’s who can read the game and get in position quickly when we lose possession. it is not the fans who makes us play badly!
  6. Excellent result. Decent performance. Well played boys, superior to a very poor Norwich.
  7. Free view channel 11 - pick tv. Channel is owned by sky. Available for anyone to watch (as long as you have free view I guess)!

The top left one is horrific! It looks like a red tee shirt that someone has superimposed on top a ladies white tennis dress. Hideous! In my opinion of course. It’s even got curves as though it goes across a ladies bust. Literally a new bra shirt....
  9. In my opinion, hojbjerg is an average PL player playing in a slightly below average PL team. I think we are his level. He isn’t a game changer, he isn’t (normally) terrible. If he left, would we (could we?) improve on him? Probably not with our virtually non existent budget. If he will stay we should keep him. Else it’ll be another team downgrade.... He isn’t a patch on what a younger Romeu was.....
  10. Steven Caulker (not sure when his best was, but he was past it for us....!) Mark Hughes David Hirst Perry Groves
  11. Well said! As usual it is all about money. It is time we all started to buy British. I certainly would be far happier spending a bit more to enable our farmers to use British labour, than importing labour from abroad. Cheaper for the farmer, false economy for the country.
  12. Do not go!
  13. Whatever her script writers tell her to go!
  14. West Ham seem to be a bogey team for us in recent years - 3-1 to them sadly.
  15. I thought Fulham's performance at St Mary's when we beat them 2-0 in Claudio Ranieri's last game was pretty dreadful.
  16. Burnley play it very tight at the back, make it difficult to get in behind them. We historically struggle to break these sides down. Hope I'm wrong but a 0-0 or 1-1 on the cards. Burnley are a bit of a bogey side for us.
  17. Andy Carrol. Paul Pogba. Mario Lemina....oh hang in a minute....
  18. Saints....amazing! Unexpected, deserved, fantastic. Well done boys !

Nathan Aké was their record signing at £20 million when he signed for them in 2017. I’d say he was a big buy.....

  21. I like the look of that line up - but I would guess Ralph won’t. Ralph is a nailed on 3-5-2 for this, which is more 5-3-2 for us... RB - depends how badly Cedric P*ssed Ralph off against Everton - if he’s been forgiven Cedric will play. JWP will play regardless of form - so change Boufal for JWP- Redmond is also undroppable so will play regardless. Danso at CB - I would like to see it, but Ralph probably won’t so it’ll be Stephens. Away at Arsenal he will play 3 CB’s anyway so add Vestergaard to that too, so remove Djenepo. There, 5-3-2, includes the JWP/Redmond out of form but undroppables, and looks really unadventurous and dull. I’ll be amazed if it isn’t like this.
  22. We won't be able to sell anyone - no-one will want any of our players. We won't be able to finance any signings because of this. We won't sign anyone because we have no money. If we are lucky, right at the end of the window, we may sign a player on loan. Business complete. I think our transfer dealings in January will be.....extremely limited. No point in speculating on new signings. If we get Reed back from loan at Fulham, I guess it gives a bit more cover in midfield. Experienced premier league centre back? Nah. Mobile CDM? Nah. Unknown last minute loan signing....could be!!
  23. Armstrong- far more forward thinking than JWP. Boufal - far more attacking and mobile than JWP. Djenapo - quicker, more skilful, more attacking, far better option. Assuming we keep 532.
  24. Exactly this. Let's keep up the improved performance against Everton next week.
  25. Unexpected but brilliant effort Saints. Great stuff, against all odds. Same again second half please
