Saints....amazing! Unexpected, deserved, fantastic. Well done boys !
-
Nathan Aké was their record signing at £20 million when he signed for them in 2017. I’d say he was a big buy.....

I like the look of that line up - but I would guess Ralph won’t. Ralph is a nailed on 3-5-2 for this, which is more 5-3-2 for us... RB - depends how badly Cedric P*ssed Ralph off against Everton - if he’s been forgiven Cedric will play. JWP will play regardless of form - so change Boufal for JWP- Redmond is also undroppable so will play regardless. Danso at CB - I would like to see it, but Ralph probably won’t so it’ll be Stephens. Away at Arsenal he will play 3 CB’s anyway so add Vestergaard to that too, so remove Djenepo. There, 5-3-2, includes the JWP/Redmond out of form but undroppables, and looks really unadventurous and dull. I’ll be amazed if it isn’t like this.

We won't be able to sell anyone - no-one will want any of our players. We won't be able to finance any signings because of this. We won't sign anyone because we have no money. If we are lucky, right at the end of the window, we may sign a player on loan. Business complete. I think our transfer dealings in January will be.....extremely limited. No point in speculating on new signings. If we get Reed back from loan at Fulham, I guess it gives a bit more cover in midfield. Experienced premier league centre back? Nah. Mobile CDM? Nah. Unknown last minute loan signing....could be!!
-
Armstrong- far more forward thinking than JWP. Boufal - far more attacking and mobile than JWP. Djenapo - quicker, more skilful, more attacking, far better option. Assuming we keep 532.

Exactly this. Let's keep up the improved performance against Everton next week.
-
Unexpected but brilliant effort Saints. Great stuff, against all odds. Same again second half please
-
We will concede in the first 10 minutes with that powderpuff, slow, ponderous line up. Glad McCarthy has kept his place, he’s going to have a busy afternoon...Don’t understand Stephens in front of Danso - is Danso that poor? The supertanker is back at CB too - City will just play triangles through this lot. Between 4 & 6 conceded today Our squad is so bereft of quality in midfield and defence. It looks like a mid table championship line up....
-
Targett wins it for Villa! Last kick.
-
Saints are the masters of surprise - we all think we will lose, the boys will pull a performance out of the bag and we win 1-0. I hope.....
-
It’d be a financial disaster. In a years time you’d all be sat moaning that Saints are sh1t and fighting to stay up in the championship is rubbish. How much better off we’d be getting relegated and being in league 1.... It’d be awful, and a place that we may never escape from. Leeds, Forest, Wednesday, charlton, Birmingham etc etc Watching a bunch of kids play because they’re cheap. The Wotte days revisted. Umm thanks but no thanks...
-
Exactly this!
-
Get in there !
-
Come on Saints let’s make this advantage count...
-
The season is not over after 3 games. The match is not over after 19 minutes!
-
You’ve got to come and try and catch it before you can drop it....I seem to remember he like the comfort of standing on his white line!
-
I think Saints being unable to shift the dead wood out is the same for all premier league teams, where ever they are in the pecking order. Ozil at Arsenal, Sanchez at Man U, No one will take them because of their wages. Same for us with Forster, Carillo, Hoedt etc Bale at Real - they can't get rid. . Imagine the carnage if we got relegated? A whole team on big wages that no one wants..... Ok relegation clauses would (I hope) halve them, but still - Forster on £30k!! We'd be doomed.
-
1) unlucky 13th - we play bright attacking football, but continue leaking goals through individual mistakes and lack of quality. 2) 4th round 3) 5th round 4) Che - 15 goals 5) Che 6) JWP - despite him improving last season, he doesn’t excite me as a player at all. He’s going to prove me wrong this season and be mustard. Ten goals and he will show he can tackle too. 7) 2nd behind Sunderland

The problem with most players these days is.....their agents. Agents make most cash when their players move clubs/sign contract extensions. Hence the odious Mino Raiola with Pogba, and I’m sure Lemina’s agent too is adding fuel to the move fire. Agents are the parasites making massive livings off of football. Scum. The lot of them
-
If that is his problem, it shows what a poor unprofessional attitude he has (and I think you are probably right). He thinks he is better than he is. He is consistently inconsistent, injury prone, and has a huge ego. If he was a decent pro, he’d be training like a beast, showing on the training ground what a fantastic work ethic he has, how fit he is, how determined and right up for the season ahead he is, and if not a first team starter, when he got his chance he’d get on the pitch and prove Ralph wrong for not starting him. Reality is he’ll go and have a little moan on social media, tell everyone how amazing he is and just sulk. He is Paul Pogba lite. And I think Paul Pogba is a terribly flawed player too for the same reasons as Mario. He is just better and has some reputation to fall back on.....over to you Mario. I think you could be our best player..... You’ve got to be bothered to show it though.....
-
Let's just get rid of offside then? More goals (maybe *) and a whole lot of worry off of the lino (sorry assistant). * my wife used to play a high standard of hockey - ditched offside there and it didn't result in massive goal hanging. It's the rules that are carp,
-
I’m confused.... They did the double over us last season. They ‘blew’ 35 million on a high quality player (Anderson) They finished 13 points and 6 places above us.... What’s not to laugh at?!
-
I hope not. He is a far better player than Targett. It would make out first team weaker, defensively, not what we need....
-
Expectations depend on who goes and who comes in. Get rid of the dross, sign a pacey forward, attacker and CB who are first team ready starters and we will be okay, 12-16th. Spend cheap on more unproven unknowns and we will be skirting with disaster again. I think two of three who come up will go straight down again. Norwich, Sheffield and Derby/ Villa are nothing special. A season of mediocrity awaits I fear. Which is an upgrade on the below average of the last three years!
