  1. I will miss the excitement and anticipation of us making a new classy signing, who we all hoped would be the next big thing. None of us had a clue who they were normally, but the hope and expectation normally outweighed reality!! Memories - handing Arsenal their arses on a plate on Boxing Day 4-0, the fab Liverpool at home comeback and Koemans reaction, Wembley and the performance there last season, putting 8 past Sunderland, Manés record breaking hat trick etc No Leeds or Cardiff fans at St Mary’s - total w4nkers the lot of them, sadly about to change... Pochettino and has high press exciting game style, Koemans amazing end of season run. All of the above were amazing memories, and may not be repeated or bettered for a very long time now. To be replaced with:- A sale of almost all of our players so mr silent can get most of his money back. Nutters going on about how brilliant it will be to play academy players and do away with the foreign mercenaries. It won’t be. It will be terrible. Harrison Reed and Gallagher being viewed as the returning saviours- a season of long and deep disappointment awaits if that is next seasons reality. More Sunderland than Villa I rather fear...
  2. Totally agree. The days of a neutral venue, great atmosphere and a great day out Are long gone. Slowly, but surely, football upper echelon greed is eating itself
  3. We didn’t deserve to lose today. Played with some heart, made some chances, even stuck two away. Defensively though we are so fragile. That is going to cost us in the end. Arsenal looked average, got away with it though. Gives me hope for the 6 remaining games if we play with the same conviction...

  5. Another criticism I have levelled at our squad is lack of pace. We must have had the slowest starting 11 in premier league history on the field yesterday. Our recruitment had been negligent to say the least. Nothing done to plug the attacking midfielder hole that we can all see but Les Reed could not.
  6. Positivity from the manager. Makes me more positive too - a comfortable 3-1 win, followed by sad West Ham muppets rioting afterwards. Come on Saints let’s do this
  7. Nice bloke, bit of a c()nt.
  8. Great save mcarthy. Keeps us alive.
  9. Our defence looks weak. Cedric was cr4p last week, and continues his form. Despite what others may think, Stephens and Hoedt are not good enough to start together. Newcastle looking to get between them - Benitez has done his homework on our defence. Unfortunately.
  10. 1) safety first totally boring tactics for 2 seasons at home 2) two successively boring, defensive managers 3) we always go cheap and unemployed when we hire a manager - get what we pay for 4) board not realising out attacking options are ****e for 2 years 5) downgrade of squad quality for two years, replacing quality with meh. Eg we’ve gone from fab defence to crap defence.
  11. And for exactly that reason, I foolishly expected us to start against Stoke with Carrillo and Gabbiadini playing up front together. Just shows how totally lacking in football knowledge I am... I mean, why would I think us playing two up front together, and resulting in a goal, actually mean we would try it again... I’ve been saying all season we need to play two forwards, especially against the poorer sides, but no, our goon of a manager wants to play defensive and stop the opposition from having a look in. The game that summed up how much of a boring tw*t our current incumbent I’d was the Brighton game. They were shocking, there for the taking, and we played ultra defensive against them. Clueless buffoon.
  12. The cheap option is to keep the total goon that we already have. God forbid, but I wouldn’t rule it out...
  13. I’m going to stick my neck out, 1-1 !!
  14. The thread was about renewing season tickets, not suddenly giving up on supporting Saints. As I customer after last seasons dire home form, I decided not to renew last year. This season has changed by thought process. See, I’ve looked, watched, and decided not spend £700+ . I didn’t renew because I decided not to. As opposed to renewing anyway because I always have. I still support saints, still go the Saint Marys and watch them, whereas with a season ticket I used lots of holiday up taking shifts off work to do so. This season, I just go when I’m off. I bought membership instead. See - still a supporter, NOT a season ticket holder. Nor have I decided to support Liverpool, or Chelsea etc.
  15. Like an old person who always votes labour or conservative. No reason, just because I always have...
  16. Unadventurous, dull, boring, conservative. The Dacia Sandero of football coaches. We get the ball looking to break, then I see 5 players ambling forward, not looking to support. We never 'go' for it, it's always slow, ponderous, predictable. With our slow, predictable players. Poor coach, poor recruitment, poor direction.
  17. First half good going forward, had a go, let in a terrible goal and a well worked goal. Second half terrible going forward kept a clean sheet. Lose 2-0. Wtf? Christ, play for the 2-0 defeat!! Genius thinking.

  19. I use the EE netwok on 4g. Signal is good and strong, always updates the BBC footy scores quickly - apart from at half time when 5000 people try to use it simultaneously!!
  20. I think you may have got Saintsweb muddled up with your quantum physics website...
  21. Great to see us taking the cup seriously. Let's win this and carry a winning momentum on into the Brighton game. Come on Saints let's do this
  22. Let's not judge him on his first few games either. I remember when Pelle played his first games and he looked absolutely awful, completely out of his depth, as though we'd accidentally signed a Sunday league player. But he came good, and I'm sure this guy will need time to adjust to the rigours of a different league, not to mention a whole new bunch of players... Patience required, although for reasons not of Carillo's doing, we don't have much time for him to come good. Tough gig for the lad, fingers crossed for him.
  23. Thought we played well today. Looked much better with our forward play - quicker getting the ball forward which helps massively. We were very shaky at the back, especially first 25 minutes. Both Hoedt and Stephens were caught out of position several times, and every corner we faced was a heart in mouth moment. Stephens positional play and heading ability is very poor, and I don’t understand how game after game he keeps getting pulled out of position, and leads to opposition goals. He may be one of our own, but he’s a good back up to Hoedt and A.N. Other, who we need to get in to form a proper, solid first choice pairing. Tadic and Jwp were good today, Lemina and Romeu certainly put a decent shift in too. Very disappointed with Gabbi today, he really offered very little throughout the game. Two golden chances at the end missed by the rookie lad, and Boufal (wtf didn’t he put his foot through that first time?) Overall a good game, good atmosphere in the ground and my boys and I enjoyed the game. Good stuff, now to play the same against Watford and Brighton. Ps please can we have a striker, cb, and pacy forward this week arrive?
  24. And is completely, totally the fault of Les Reed and Co. Not the we exactly set the Europe league on fire was it, no away goals and playing for a thrilling 0-0 to go through in the last game... Puel was not great, just because the board got someone worse in, doesn't mean Puel is suddenly better than he was. Our home football was totally turgid boring crap last season. Do people forget this? I don't. Even some of the games we won were awful to watch at home. Sideways, backwards, sideways backwards. Boring. That's why the fans are so damn down - we've had enough of boring football. The board appointed Puel and Pell, both were bad choices. I go to football to be entertained, not getting that this season or last. "He who keeps looking backwards can never see where they are going" - Puel is gone, get over it everyone.
