It's ok though the prolific Shane Long is up front tonight...... As Window Cleaner said we aren't going to win the thing anyway so I am more concerned with the Everton game.

Yep. Just that dose really is a sickener. It's not easy admitting that, IMO, we basically just average. We benefited from playing teams even more drab than us in the first 10 and whenever we had a real test we got beat. West Ham is the last time we played well and some of our signings have not stepped up and some now going backwards. Not confident here at all and looking at Everton yesterday we could well be on the wrong side of a spanking Saturday too. Hope I am wrong.

Well that's not quite true is it. Because it sure as hell wasn't our defenders who were at fault for the Villa goal. Toby had it under control and Forster should have arrived at Agbonlahor much sooner OR stayed on his line. He did neither, dithered and it was 1-0. He was woeful against Stoke and he should have done better with RVPs second. Not been overly impressed myself.

And we'll be another mediocre 10 come season end. And all the usual suspects will be 1-6. Like I intimated, just disappointed I got caught up in the hype!

What's that got to do with it. United are a shambles yet they just turned us over. More Mayuka late subbing, Mane being utterly ineffective and a defensive **** up and another game gone. I genuinely thought we'd be up there looking at Europe this season, was a false dawn however

Liverpool are finding out just how much Suarez meant to them and that in no way, shape or form is Ballotelli a suitable replacement. The guy is an arm chewing dirt bag but he's a hell of a footballer too.

This. He was distinctly 'headless chickeny' (as he has been his entire career) vs West Ham and Millwall. The moment he went off and Gaston came on we looked heaps better. I guess we didn't need that 12mil :S

It was an absolutely dog awful signing, and up there with one of the worst in the Prem. Gaston would have done the same job and he was already here. Cue the "he doesn't work as hard" argument. But that doesn't wash with me as I'd take an effective 20min spell from Gaston vs a useless 60 min spell (with a 12mil fee) any day. And that point was eloquently underlined at West Ham on Saturday. And if you don't want to use Gaston as an example take any of a number of lower league players we could have taken a punt on. Shane Long is gash pure and simple.

This mirrors my feeling. Great signings in Tadic and Alderweireld, retaining Boruc as well as getting in Forster was also a bonus otherwise I didn't see the point. Think people are raving about Bertrand to early because all I see is a bit of a headless chicken still and Shane Long is a massive waste of space. Jury out on Man and Pelle a bit.

Bertrand and Long will end up looking like superstars then, which has already started to happen with Bertrand.

This would one of our better buys this summer, so would be genuinely please with this signing.

That's a lot of hoping, because pound for pound I think it's the worst signing of the summer!

He's never banged them in before so why should he start now.

Exactly my feeling when we signed Long... Vardy would have been the icing on the cake. Sure the money hasn't gone into the Swiss coffers as some suspected but it's hardly been spent wisely either.
