Huh go figure. I thought I was in the minority (as in minority of 1) here in thinking KJ was actually bloody average. Bambi on ice a lot of the times.

JPT Final - match thread for those that couldnt go :-(

****ing brilliant. Enjoyed that. Night all. -
I think it's very harsh. I think half the problem is that we are comparing him to Connelly and expecting him to have the same impact yet forgetting that Connelly is, in fact, a premiership striker injuries aside. His finishing clincal and his pace deceptively quick. THAT said Barnard is a very good purchase for league one and arguably the CCC and I find it incredible that anyone that follows football, at least anyone who follows football outside of Saints FC, doesn't understand what a good signing this SHOULD turn out to be. I said SHOULD because there are obviously no guarantees.

Connelly fit anyone?
-
You people who say that he should continue taking freekicks genuinely believe that there isn't a single professional footballer in our squad that can't deliver a decent dead ball. Granted from the limited times Ive watched Saints on TV this season it's abundantly clear that Lambo is the best but I am sure whoever is 'second' can deliver at least a half decent cross or corner. If this isn't the case then I think I can see why we won't be making the playoffs this year because that is a pathetic statistic. One delivery from Harding (who I though people were raving about at the start of the season) onto one Rickie Lamberts head = one goal. It's a fairly startling statistic.

Possibly stop Lambert from taking corners and freekicks that he really should have been on the end of?

Is it working chap...Seriously I will full on wet myself with excitement if I could get this working here in Bondi. Really was looking forward to checking out Star City until I found out that Chelsea v Cardiff was game of choice.

Yep! Cannot believe this. No wonder that **** house company Setanta went bust in the UK

I sense a hint of sarcasm in that post Unfortunately.

Any further news on Connelly other than the generic crap on the OS?

Shame Saints forum doesn't have a 'Like This' option. Just saw the team before the result, spoke to my old man at the game (Im in Oz before we get the 'Im a better supporter than you are' clan out) and I knew we had won before seeing the final score. I've been told we looked impressive and lively. This is our strongest team bar Connelly who may well of been on the bench anyway and this should be the team playing week in and week out in my very far but fairly well informed opinion. Great result and lets make it 2 in 2 this week.

The worst 'left winger', and I use the term lightly, I have ever witnessed at SMS (and several times away). I mean at least the Ali Dia situation was funny.

I'm not sure which irritates me most, 'their selves' who rightly express an opinion or those nicey nicey golden halo supporters who make up these threads. No, wait I do know which one irritates me more. Look people pay good money to watch football. We do at least expect a level of effort from those who's wages we pay. Without vocal frustration there would be periods of silence if we all took this 'if you haven't got anything nice to say' approach. If a game/player/manager is performing below expectation then criticism is to be expected. It's the same in all walks of life and quite frankly if you can't handle it then you really need to book yourself into a mental health unit early. I do appreciate that some go overboard, and sometimes they need to be told to STFU too but honestly I think it's more tedious those who whinge about it for days after. I can assure you they'll be the individuals with the consistantly higher blood pressures, not the guy that get's it off his chest.

Hey...Can anyone shed any light on the Connolly injury. He definitely gives us that clinical finishing that can help win these sort of games and as ever the injury update on the OS is, well, not really an update. Apparently he may still make the Millwall game???? :S

Ugh Neil McCann...I didn't see him come up a lot on the first page (once or twice) of this thread but, by God, he was the worst winger I have ever had the misfortune of watching.
-
I am surpised it took 15 posts for that too come up. Horrendous miss that and really did not help our survival attempt at all.

Happy Christmas all. Hope for 3 points on Saturday and being another step closer to the play offs.

A Great Chance to Steal Aussie Talent on Loan...
Greedyfly replied to brightspark's topic in The Saints
This. Really is a Mickey Mouse league out here...And as for the poster above who said 'league one is feast of quality players' I reckon Southampton would, in their current form, beat most of the A-League teams without breaking a sweat. Seriously Robbie Fowler just takes the ****...that is when he can be bothered to play. -
I'd lump Fabregas in there too. I think he's possibly better than Iniesta...
-
You little legend. Thanks.
-
He is just that damn good. Will we now see Mayweather go at it with Pacquiao...We have too surely.

If a Saint down under was interested in watching said game, and the only way was through the internet, does anyone know where that Saint could locate the game. In other words is this game shown online anywhere?
-
My thoughts exactly...Lets see if we can have some immediate confidence in him that when January comes, and god forbid Trottman is recalled, that we may have something resembling a direct replacement. No pressure, no expectation...Rovers strikers aren't lumps, we are high on confidence. Really don't see the harm.
