Long did play well yesterday it has to be said, and I am far from his biggest admirer. BUT, Jame's underlying point is still valid in that all those other things he does are great for the team but at the end of the day aren't going to get us goals. So the same issue persists. Long possibly should be starting in place of the ineffectual Redmond with our most natural striker, Gabbi, up front. But that isn't likely to happen either.
-
Average player, playing averagely. Always has been always will be.
-
No, no he wasn't.
-
Yep grumbles aside, this set up suits us much better. So far so good
-
At least twice
-
Brilliant. Gets the formation behind the striker correct for a change and drops the main striker for Long. Sigh.
-
I can tell you one half of the scoreline now if you want? Nil.
-
Well played.
-
Will we? ON what basis? Tadic Redmond and JWP suddenly developing some creativity?
-
This. Just saying 'get better' clearly hasn't worked. The personnel is all wrong.
-
Do we? I'd strongly suggest that we don't. The midfield hasn't chipped with any number of goals for three years and yet the personnel remains the same or becomes a downgrade on what we had (Redmond)

Dreadful

I did. Quite right. Away form was woeful still, but plenty good enough for a mid table finish despite them selling the player who was directly responsible for most of their goals, in January. Don't get me wrong, I am not championing Silva (nor would I be disappointed with his appointment) but lets not start looking at their relegation as his failure. It was a miracle he nearly rescued them.
-
I don't even know what this comment was in response to, but this comment is a misrepresentation of the job that Silva has done at Hull. No team, until last weekend, other than Spurs, had picked up more points in the time that Silva has been appointed (almost half a season). So if someone is clambering for him to be appointed there's a very good reason why.
-
Where on earth have you picked that stat from? He scored 13 in all competition and hit 10 in the league for the first time ever. He's got his uses (willing runner) but goal scorer he ain't.
-
Well it isn't misleading is it. And you can do a number of things like successful dribbles, pass % etc etc etc to your hearts content and the stats still come out relatively similar. I agree, it isn't the be all and end all but to write off a guy who has a total of 10 apps in the prem when he quite clearly has the talent is well, odd. We don't appreciate skillful players here much do we.

I am very happy to be wrong about Redmond but I think we need a longer period of assessment. He's been very good over the last 3-4 games but he was bloody dreadful around November/December time with the pinnacle of that being the Be'er Sheva and Sparta Prague performances where he was absolutely woeful. As for Boufal 'getting a free pass' that's a bit unfair bordering on complete BS. For comparison purposes here's their relative stats: Boufal has made 10 apps in all comps, scoring 2 and assisting 1 Redmond has made 30 apps in all comps scoring 6 and assisting 1. He's hardly killing Boufal in the stats department and had it been for some more movement up front (especially against Palace where Boufal was all over them for about 30 mins) and not having 3 layoffs due to injury I am sure he would have had a lot more. I am all for hoping that Redmonds great run continues but I am hoping to see a lot more of a fully fit Boufal too and gladly giving him the time (a free pass if you will) to show what he can do.

I'd like to know this too. Getting a teeny bit desperate now

Has anyone used this website previously? If that's the price it takes then that'll be what gets paid. Justin, I'll try and message you on here. If not do you have an email address I can get you on?
-
Yeah I get that, I meant on the 'open market' if you will... Cheers Simo, hadn't considered them for some reason.

Okey dokey, got my solitary one on the seasons ticket but would appreciate any help obtaining a second if anyone can oblige.

By some distance. Another toothless performance. Thankful for the league cup final. -

10th of the season for him today, header against Blackpool -
I am not his biggest supporter, it has to be said. I think he has been wasteful, slow, 1 assist and 4 goals in a half season is poor return but what was expected off the back of his Norwich showing. However, if he can put in more performances like that going forward I will be easily converted. What a completely differently player he was. Decisive, great running, pacey, quick thinking. Loved it.
