If QPR go down, are their finances so bad that they might have to make a contribution to the wages of players they sell on? E.g. If Remy is on £70K a week, might they have to pay £10K or £20K of this to get him off the books?

Bookies make us about 66/1 to be relegated and about 2/1 to finish in the top 10. So if they are right, the latter is unlikely but not very unlikely.
-
Pretty good set of results - barring Liverpool failing to beat West Ham. Am definitely looking upwards, we're a general 66/1 to be relegated. As any racing pundit will tell, 66/1 shots never come in...:-) (P.S. Am listening to Saggy on Radio 5 now, joyous stuff. He's practically in tears. Wonderful stuff.)

Sticks in my gut to say it, but a QPR win please. Especially given the Villa win today. I want some daylight. Fulham to lose or draw too, please. Newcastle aren't going down, so am just trying to maximise our chances of a high place finish.

If we win this, that will be 4 on the spin. So, ain't gonna happen, is it? Is it?

When did we last win 3 Premier League games in a row? -
Our first season of "mid table mediocrity" in years. And I'm delighted. We're basically safe now. The last game of the season may be crucial - but if so, it will be crucial for Stoke.
-
We are now longer odds than West Ham to be relegated. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/relegation West Ham are - I'm told - as likely to be relegated as Manchester United. Manchester United's chance of relegation are 0%. Our chances of relegation are therefore less than 0%. (Can you see what I did there?)

Realistic target placing next season - current squad?

We should really aim to finish in the top half now. I expected to come a cropper today, but our remaining fixtures aren't too tough - should definitely get 9 points and maybe as many as 13+. Any other deluded people agree? My only worry is we take our foot off the gas, which often seems to happen to teams who are safe(ish) in mid-table. -

Two players have been turning points for our season. 1. When we got Cork back from injury 2. Jay Rod hitting amazing form I voted for Rickie though - he has been superb all season and his link up play today was a joy. We are basically safe (now 50/1 to go down). We should strive for a top half finish if we can. Happy days! -
Have you ever wondered if we have done match fixing?

Beating Newcastle 3-1 at the Dell when we were 1-0 down with seconds to go looked dodgy - especially as Srniceck (sp?) the Newcastle keeper was at fault for all 3 goals. Still, football does sometimes throw up weird occurences. -
Shld we club together to place an advert with text taking the p1ss? Sure, they get £100 or so, but the advert could point out this is only 0.00000001% of what they owe local creditors....

That's an amazing bet - congrats. If I were you, I'd lay some of it off. You can't get any meaningful odds on Pompey being relegated now and Saints are now 7/2 to finish in the top half - so your 60/1 bet is now effectively a 7/2 chance.
-
If Lallana is fit, I'd play him on the right and drop Puncheon to the bench.
-
I think that's a tad optimistic - but only a tad. Probably 11th or 12th this season and 8th-9th next.
-
If by "breaking into the top 7", you mean just about scraping 7th place because one of the top teams has an unusually abysmal season, then I think it is feasible. Just. With one hell of a following wind. But also a bit pointless. I'd rather win the League Cup, for example.
-
This reminds me of England's failure to select MLT back in the 90s. I'm now hoping the national team fails to qualify for Brazil 2014.
-
Despite my loathing of Redknapp, I will be cheering on QPR v Wigan on Saturday. Rangers can't realistically catch Saints, Wigan can. If we beat Reading and QPR beat Wigan, our safety is basically assured.
-
This is the best link for how gone or not the relegation-threatened teams are. Chances of Reading and QPR going down are pretty close to certain. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/relegation

Well, that's 24 minutes of my life I'll never get back...
-
Let's hope so. Then we can get that yo-yo strategy back on track. Present form is seriously endangering that strategy, as it's looking increasingly unlikely that we will successfully carry out the "getting relegated" part of the plan.

Very surprised to see Hoovield ahead of Fonte. I think Fonte has been very good. I'm happy with Fonte and Yoshida as first choice. If the manager thinks it's Fonte-Hoovield or goes for Fonte-Forren or Yoshida-Forren or whatever, well fine. I think we now have 3 or 4 good centre backs. I'd like some cover here, but am not sure I'd spend £8m or whatever.

I'll be honest. I love a good moan. And I'm willing to pay good money to have one. Watching football is one of the few things in my life where I can let off steam without any of the things going wrong being in some way my fault. That said, I don't go for any overarching analysis of any player (Lambert not fit for a pub team, Guly worse than my grandma etc), but I do shout a lot if a player misplaces a pass, fails to play in a teammate etc.
-
Gotta be honest, I'd take a draw. I'm sounding like a stuck record saying that every game, but we're so close to the finish line that we can get over it with just a handful of draws from here. Sorry to be so unambitious!
