Welbeck is a cert to go, he has done a reasonable job for England despite his limited ability. We have seen that his club form is irrelevant (in all fairness he has scored a few more this season than last). I think even Roy might finally have realised that Cleverley offers very little, there are plenty of better options. Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk

at past squads and the current odds on who will make the 23, it might even be difficult for Lallana to make it, especially if Roy overloads the squad with central midfielders Gk Hart Forster Foster/Ruddy DF Baines Cole Jagielka Cahill Jones Smalling Walker Johnson MF Gerrard Townsend Wilshere Milner Carrick Lampard ST Rooney Sturridge Welbeck That's 20, which barring injury you would (rightly or wrongly) expect to be picked. The defence sadly picks itself and I think that's what it will be. Then 2 midfield places for which there are a lot of contenders (Barkley, Cleverley, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lallana, Henderson, Sterling, Lennon, maybe Adam Johnson). That would only leave 1 place for a 4th striker (Lambert, Carroll, Defoe, J Rod). Doesn't look very inspiring. Personally think Ox and Lallana will go, then 1 of Lambert or Carroll. What's happened to Townsend? I know he was injured but is he back yet? Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk

On form, hopefully Rodriguez will get called up for the next squad. You feel he would need a goal and a big performance though. He seems to have been better than ever since his England debut which is great to seem. Maybe he now has the confidence and determination to score another 6 or 7 goals and make the World Cup squad Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk

A lot of investment. We need another 5/6 players of the same sort of quality as Lovren. We're talking £100 million investment over 2-3 seasons. That's how City and Chelsea have achieved success, it's the only way. Let's not kid ourselves into thinking we can field a side of academy products good enough to finish top 6. The first step in the summer will he keeping the likes of Lallana and Shaw, and improving the squad in every area. We can be ambitious but need to be realistic. It is very much dependant on whether KL allows us to spend her late Father's fortune, or whether new investors take over the club. Right now, my gut feeling is that we might be able to make 7th place next season, at a push. Finalky, it is no good saying how we should have beaten Arsenal, City, Chelsea etc., or that the games were close. We need to be winning them if the club is to make progress Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk

Fox is good in the Championship, we already know that. I'd be a bit worried for them if they get promotion and have him and Harding as back up. Palace doing ok, they're well organised under Pulis, Arsenal should score eventually though Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk

So Man Utd will still finish in the top 3? Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk

There is no chance of Clyne starting, I'd be very surprised if he makes the squad (even though he obviously should) Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk

Brilliant result, thats the sort of scoreline we've been threatening to get in the last couple of games. As much as it's disappointing to only get 5 points from the last 3 games, it shows we're getting back on track whilst also taking away the spotlight from off field events, which can only be a good thing. I said on the match thread that some of our other players (Morgan, Cork, Davis and Big Vic) needed to start chipping in with some goals, but when our England trio up top are on that sort of form I guess it's not so important! 3 excellent goals, J Rod's being the highlight for me, best finish and a great ball from Lambo (his legs have gone so I've heard on here, so he now resorts to hopeful punts up the field lol). Nice to see Roy watching too, I think Lallana has sealed his plane ticket already. Lambert is 50/50, needs another 6/7 goals IMO. J Rod is improving all the time, just not sure if his international debut will count against him. Personally I would have those 3 along with Clyne in there. A few more winnable games coming up, I think we'd all be happy with 40 points and a cup quarter final going into March Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk

Can't believe how many have been writing him off in recent months. Congratulations Sir Rickie on a great achievement. Biggest club legend since Le Tissier
-
Getting rather tired of hearing all these possesion stats every week, means nothing if you can't put the ball in the back of the net. It doesn't help that we only have 3 players who chip in with all the goals. Time for Schneiderlin, Cork and Davis to start chipping in
-
We really should be winning this one. Fulham are very poor, and it looks like only Holtby is eligible to play from their deadline day signings. Got a bad feeling it'll be another dominant performance, but another draw. 1-1. We will dominate the midfield, but we're not scoring enough goals, maybe it's the day for Big Vic to chip in with one on his return

Tevez, Llorente, Vucinic, Giovinco, Quagliarella. Do they need Osvaldo???! Hasn't worked out at all, glad the situation has been resolved for now. The Man City goal aside, he contributed very little

It will be very disappointing if we don't bring in another striker. I know it's a natural reaction to get more frustrated by seeing the bottom 5 or 6 sides trying to buy a whole new team but even so we really do need a replacement up top. Gutted we didn't go in for Mitroglou, would have been ideal
-
Forum meltdown tomorrow if Forte leaves as well. Bizarre that we're moaning about getting rid of so many players who should have left a long time ago.
-
Ings fits the player profile for us a lot better than some of the other potential strikers, I'd be happy with him coming here
-
Anyone else getting frustrated? Any rumours of a new striker coming in have gone quiet, we really do need one though. Get the feeling we must be in the market for a defender now aswell
-
Everything's gone a bit quiet, hopefully something is happening behind the scenes.

Would you change positons with Sunderland?
Saint_Tony replied to Barry Sanchez's topic in The Saints
You're right, 2 points above it. Well that changes my view on your question completely now I have realised this, a 2 point advantage is MASSIVE. Would love to be in Sunderland's position right now -

Yeah I'd love to swap places with Sunderland. Would be great to be feeling nervous every week and checking the results of the other teams to see if we were out of the relegation zone. This season has admitedly died down a bit, fairplay to them going well in the cups. But seriously? You must be joking, being in the relegation zone is no fun whatsoever, regardless of a cup run. Go on Sunderland's forum and ask them the same question -
Got a feeling we might be in for a surprise tomorrow
-
Not overly excited by Vucinic, but a loan would suit us best to tie us over til the end of the season, then reassess things
-
Very strange. Maybe BT sport were impressed with us the other day. Surely City v Chelsea will be televised?
-
Am I worried? Not particularly. We have a good infrastructure and squad in place that a new manager could do well with. Do I think he will go? Difficult to say. He's been here a couple of weeks longer than some of us expected. Who knows? Maybe he's happy under the new regime. He certainly seems as committed as ever to the cause right now but we're still not entirely clear of what's going on behind the scenes

It would be nice if England had 3 quality players for every position, not just left back! Personally I think Luke will just miss out, his time will come soon enough though, can see Cole retiring after Brazil
