  1. Football fans in 'trying to lighten atmosphere whilst losing 2-0 to awful team' shocker.
  2. Bull****. I do agree with some of what's been written on here, some of the stuff that comes from the Northam is not what I would do personally (booing at the end on Saturday one example), but if you took those fans away and just left the three other stands there would be f*** all atmosphere. If you think that the rest of the ground are just sitting there waiting for the Northam to slow down so they can join in the singing, you are deluded.
  3. I do agree to a certain extent, but at the same time he's clearly got some 'issues' and in that respect is no different to any other person. Opens up a whole different argument to be fair. Should these highly paid people just be grateful for what they have or does he have a right to be annoyed that there are now less bonuses for maximum breaks?
  4. I'm in the "any noise is good noise" camp (within reason). Sure, we would all like every chant to be witty, clever, original etc etc but in the absence of a large group introducing new ones surely it's better to sing something than nothing?
  5. The difficulty is how to do it. If you have 50 people trying to sing slower, and 50 trying to sing faster, the slower ones will always keep up with the faster ones. I have tried to keep the slow OWTS going before but it's just impossible, the ones who have control of the tempo are those at the back who can hit the boards.
  6. I see your point but it is a very small minority, those booing at the end I reckon would have been 10-20 people at the most, same goes for the Lloyd James one.
  7. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/other_sports/snooker/9016342.stm Unbelievable. Stops on just 9 points to ask what the prize is for a 147, and then tries to stop on 140 as there is no prize. Like him or not, it's never boring when Ronnie is playing.
  8. What a lazy article. To suggest that Lambert has put on weight since Pardew left is just completely ignorant, he's not been fit from day 1 this season.
  9. Don't agree, there are plenty of teams who play without a 'target man' very succesfully.
  10. Don't neccesarily disagree overall but pace? are you sure?
  11. Interesting to see Dortmund fans are Boycotting over a ticket rise to £19. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/8986321.stm I think if anything this shows how in this country fans have been taken for mugs. People (myself included) just continue to lap up everything the Premier League throws at them "£45 for a ticket? Well if that's how much it costs to support my team then I'm in." Will things ever change over here? Could we end up with more of a German football style model in the future? Or is the appetite for the game just so huge over here that clubs will continue to charge whatever the hell they like?
  12. Lallana then Lambert and Fonte. Anybody who doesn't put Lambert in the top 3 is mental in my opinion.
  13. Things must be bad if people are calling for Wotton!
  14. I wouldn't really eat whilst driving, but I would drink from a bottle of water.
  15. Stop it.
  16. We went into admin owing local businesses money, those businesses would have had to accept less than what they were owed. A month later we spent 1m on Ricky Lambert. I'm not trying to suggest that what we did was on the same scale as the skates, but take your Saints tinted glasses off and you will realise that we too 'got away with it', just to a lesser extent.
  17. I love how short peoples memories are. We all seem to have forgotton that little over a year ago we were subject to a takeover, which forced our creditors to accept a percentage of what we owed them. We then went out and spent more than any other L1 club on transfer fees. This is the way football deals with debt, get over it.
  18. Again, I do think this comes back to keeping it simple and this is where I'm optimistic about NA. If a team are sitting 11 behind the ball there is no magic tactical formula to unlock them, it's about good players moving the ball quickly and with confidence, making things happen themselves, stretching the opposition, that is all.
  19. Obviously the further up the ladder you go the more tactical the game gets (to an extent). But at the end of the day a team of 11 lazy, uninterested players with a tactical genius as a manager will always lose to a team of 11 similarly skilled but hard working, enthusiastic players with only basic tactics. Not really sure what my point is... Ah well.
  20. I like what he is saying, almost a back to basics approach and getting the players to enjoy their football. Fingers crossed that he can get the message across quickly.
  21. I would bet my house that no current Premier League managers applied for the job. I don't think it's a brilliantly worded statement from the club, but I don't think its meant to imply that we had applications from the English Prem. People saying Holloway might have applied, why on earth would he? The guy has spent his entire career trying to get to the Prem, why would he drop all that to come here?
  22. That doesn't mean we need another player, it means Nigel Adkins has to come in and get the best out of Hammond, who is a good player at this level.
  23. Just interested, who would you have preferred?
  24. They are getting more out of worse players.
