  1. IMO, that would be even better than Burley. I believe Stuart Gray is also without a job at the moment. Or they could turn to Steve Wigley. I'm sure he would like another go at managing a prem team!
  2. Good move. Preston won't allow him to play on Saturday anyway!
  3. And me, I had 1-2 too......but WHOOOOHOOOOO ANYWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Yep, I can see it but it's either not a commentary or I've gone deaf!
  5. Warsaw is quality for a weekend get-away.
  6. Even for us ex-pats??
  7. I had exactly the same thing happen to me on Saturday. Upon investigation, my subscription has run out. Previously (Saints TV) I have been sent messages informing me that this would happen and was asked to renew credit card info so as not to lose the service. This new carp system didn't bother to inform, nor have they asked for me to re-subscribe. I guess they don't want my business anymore! In any case, I am going to give it a few weeks to see if I can actually live without SaintsPlayer before handing over my dosh again. WHICH MEANS I NEED YOU ALL TO KEEP ME INFORMED AS TO WHAT THE F..K IS HAPPENING AT THE MATCH!!!!!!!!
  8. Minsk

    Lee Holmes

Mills is, indeed, more versatile; he also has more pace, is better at taking set pices, is a better crosser, a better tackler and has a better shot on him. All in all Mills is a far better player than Holmes! (All in my and, it would appear, Pardew's opinion of course.)
  9. I couldn't even get Saints Player to work today (again). I am 99% resolved to cancelling the subscription some time in the very near future!
  10. Methinks you've been building up to making that statement for the past few weeks. I know, let's sack him and start all over again with another new manager!
  11. I think that's the third time this season KD has saved a penalty only for the other team to score from the follow up. Grrr!!!!!
  12. Hmmm, hardly a build-up thread, but I get your drift. Apologies and thanks for sharing.
  13. I can't believe it is nearly midnight on Friday (UK time, almost 2.00am Saturday here) and there is still no build up thread for today's (for me) match. So here it is: The team I would put out is: ----------------------Kelvin------------------- James---------Thomas------Jaidi--------Harding ----------------------Wotton------------------ ----------Hammond-------------Spiderman------ Waigo------------------------------------Lallana -----------------------Lambert------------------ Subs: Bart, Trottman, Mills, Mellis, Antonio, Connelly, Patterson As for the result, I'm in two minds: Heart says 3-1 to Saints; Head says a 2-2 draw. What thinkest thou??
  14. Why is it funny? Serious question.
  15. You stop with the obvious and highly contentious issues: Was it really a goal? Was it a penalty, or did he dive? Was the ball punched into the net/thrown (illegally) to a team-mate to score? Things like, 'Whose throw in on the half-way line is it?' should not be up for interpretation. Anything could happen to those (and if the wrong decision is made and the benefitting team go on to score poeple like you can still be happy ). As others have suggested, it could be left to the discretion of the 4th official (who could watch all replays and inform the ref if the cameras prove his decision was incorrect) or each team could have, say, 3 'objections' per half. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. Using your thought process it is like saying, 'Why do we prosecute people for murders? Murders still happen.'
  16. I fully agree. Add to that some serious competition, like a side regularly (okay, for the past 2 seasons) playing in Europe, and bingo! BATE Borisov are here and waiting for all Saints fans to come and enjoy the totty, errr, I mean footy. Failing that, even Poland, Lithuania or Latvia would be good.
  17. Roy Keane is a komplete and utter kant. Always has been, always will be. One of the most despicable footballers ever to set foot upon a pitch, IMHO!!!
  18. Ireland is not a part of Britain, but it is a part of 'The British Isles'. Do a quick google 'image search and have a look for yourself.
  19. So which players, regularly starting in the Prem or CCC, do you think will agree to drop down to a team currently in the bottom 4 of league 1? John Terry, maybe? No, no, don't tell me, Chris Baird, event hough he's not a proper CB and hasn't been starting all that regularly?! So, you are saying that we shouldn't sign someone like Ward (or at least, severely questioning such an acquisition) but that we should invest as we did with Lambert and Hammond? Just a reminder........ We signed Lambert and Hammond from League 1 teams. Ward has been playing in the CCC this season. How is signing a CCC player worse than signing a League 1 player?? P.S. If you now claim to just be playing mind games then I will claim to just be humouring you!!
  20. I expect Mrs LTC would say your daughter wouldn't even be here/there if it weren't for romance!
  21. And, indeed, bigger animals. Orcas have been known to spend many hours hunting and killing baby sperm whales (even the babies are much bigger than them, let alone the mothers whom the babies have to be seperated from) just to eat their tongues!
  22. Have you never been to Sea World (or similar place)? Orca's only play with humans, they don't eat them. P.S. Very clever little penguin! P.P.S. What they don't show you is the people in the boat eating the penguin for lunch.
  23. So, you think that we (in League 1) should be looking to sign a CB who regularly starts for a top CCC or prem team? IMO, Ward is better than Trottman (he certainly has more experience). Is Trottman good enough? Should we sign him? Who SHOULD we sign, IYO?
  24. Oh so wrong!! NFL takes so long because the clock stops every time the ball goes out of play, not because of the video replays. It could easily be introduced into TOP STANDARD football, with very little effect on how long the match takes. Maybe there may be an extra 5 mins on the end of game but I would rather that and know the correct team won (for example) the world cup final than one who cheated (Argentina '86). Is there Hawkeye available for cricket or tennis matches played at Fleming Park? Does that mean there shouldn't be Hawkeye at Test Matches or Wimbledon?
  25. Hmmm, how well do you remember the '86 incident? What were you at the time, 5? I remember it very well as I had just joined Dryad for a career course. I can't remember a single Irishman, Scot or Welshman 'dancing in the streets' or 'partying' because the cheating Argies had beaten England. Maybe they were doing so in their own countries, but not those who were serving with me at the time. But then maybe that was because they had also lost friends, killed by Argies, only 4 years prior? I do remember that it was the French who continued to sell exocet missiles to the Argies after the Falklands Conflict began, but that doesn't make me hate all Frenchmen. In fact I have a few who very good friends; just as I have many Irish friends. This incident is not about the nationalities involved. It's about the fact that such HUGE mistakes are allowed to occur and go unpunished, even when it is obviously clear that someone CHEATED; as in both the Maradona and Henry incidents. I fully agree with the views posted earlier in this thread by St. Landrew and Derry.
