I actually think Mills is AP's 'player of choice' for the LM slot. So I would expect to see Lallana moved over to the right when he (Fish) has regained his fitness. You are correct that another option would be to play Lallana up front, off of Lambert, and I too think it could work (just not much pace between them).

Re Saga: if he wants to play a part in next year's World Cup (and provided he isn't loaned to out to a CCC club next week) he will have to be playing out of his skin week in, week out. As for Poke, he has not gone on a free he has gone on a 4 month loan (subject to recall should anything happen to Kelvin or Bart).
  3. Bugg*r, you just beat me to it. Great minds and all that!
  4. You've got Gobern and Mellis the wrong way around, and I can't believe you have missed out our secret weapon - Anthony Pulis! Seriously though, as I posted on another thread, yes that squad should be more than capable in this league. I also think they are starting to find their feet and that our performances are becoming better with each game. I also think (hope) AP may well bring in a loan player next week (RW/FWD with some pace). If I was forced into making a prediction right now I would say that we won't be far off of mid-table come Christmas, and could well push on from there in the new year, but I don't think we will quite make the play-offs.

I am happy with his signing, but somewhat bemused. I thought the only hold-up was the work permit and now we are told he has signed for 2 years...... 'subject to work permit clearance'!!!????? I will also echo others in that we really do need to bring in some pace, on the wing at up front. This will hopefully be loans who are subject to becoming permanment signings in January. N.B. I do however have full faith in Holmes and Mills doing a good job for us on the left, when they are fit! And also see a very bright future for McLaggon, either on the right or up front, when he is fit (but I don't think he will be ready for the first team until around Christmas time, and even then he should be introduced gradually and carefully).
  6. It definitely won't be a loan. It will have to be someone out of contract.
  7. That would be my guess too. Well it has to be him, or someone else out of contract................
  8. Some loans work out (i.e. Richard Wright, Guthrie, Jack Cork, JPS, Rasiak and Saga, etc) whilst others don't (I won't bother listing all the the failures if you don't mind). I think certainly in this day and age loans and part and parcel of football - even a lot of prem clubs have them. Also, just about every team who has been promoted from any division did so with loans in their sides. So I really don't feel it makes much difference (especially as we ONLY - check out other teams - have 2 loans in at present).
  9. News has just come up on Sportinglife (sorry if I have missed it elsewhere) that Aaron Davies has signed on loan at Brighton until the end of December. I am gutted that we missed out on him. However, I will feel better about it if we do bring Gradel in on loan.
  10. I think you will find the 'loan window' opens one week after the permanent one shuts.
  11. Well said Chris! And let's not forget, we can still sign players who are out of contract and we can still bring in players on loan. I feel pretty sure we will sign Jaidi in time for him to play on Saturday (which is all that matters IMO). So, as it stands news wise at this moment in time, our squad looks something like this: GKs: Davis, Bart, Poke can be recalled, Forecast is on a month's loan RBs: Murty (don't know how long he will be out), Thomas, James LBs: Harding, Mills, Molyneux CBs: Thomas, Perry, Jaidi (hopefully), Trotman, Lancashire RMs: James, Lallana, Mellis, Thomson, McLaggon (and I really think we will bring one in on loan) LMs: Holmes, Mills, Lallana, Gobern CMs: Hammond, Wotton, Spiderman, James, Gillett, Mellis, Gobern Fwds: Lambert, Saga, Paterson, White, McLaggon (I also think we will loan a new fwd in) All in all that squad looks good enough (for me) to easily get us up to mid-table come the end of December. The performances are getting better and better with each game. I have faith and am not about to join the wrist-slitters in their mass suicide attempt. So come on, cheer up you lot.
  12. Hmmm, last season (in a higher division) RL gave us the likes of Forecast, Molyneux, Gasmi, Smith and the world class Anthony Pulis. So far this season ML has given us Lambert, Hammond, Harding, and Murty, as well as couple of decent young loan players. Oh, and of course he gave Kelvin a new contract. Yes, I can the similarities!
  13. I think it is laughable how many people on here have taken this rumour as Gospel and are slagging off someone who may well still be in our starting 11 this weekend. (Although I doubt that he will be.) Personally, I would rather wait until there has been official anouncement as to who has gone where and who has come in before I will start crying over milk which could still well be sat in the fridge (even if the top is a bit loose).
  14. Oh, and in addition to the above, anyone else notice how all this deadwood was accumulated last season under Lowelife and his Dutch revolution? I am still certain that it was all part of the plan that 'if administration doesn't kill us having all these carp players on our books will'.
  15. No arguements over who you would like to see come in, but when I look at the outs I can't help but thinking..... who the Hell would take them off of our hands??????????? (Saga excepted, except for his wages!)
  16. No exucses TDD said, but..... How can it be a deliberate handball if it hits the back of a players arm when he looking the other way?
  17. Come on Saints pleeeaaasssee score from this corner!!!!!
  18. 2 in the prem, plus Blackstock for Forest.
  19. Saints starting to get back on top. Hammond and James both sounding good in CM. I really hope we score a 2nd goal soon. aaarrgghh, Saga scores but off-side.
  20. Maybe a stupid question but, do you have 'Real Player' installed? As for the OP's question: the initial problems now seem to have been ironed out. My only gripe is that the Radio Solent commentary is very, very, poor (yes, even much worse than Radio Hampshire ever was). Being an ex-pat this is my only life-line to get match commentary so I do grudgingly put up with it, as it is (just) better than nothing.
  21. Penalty to Saints! Get in there Rickie!!!!!!!!
  22. Hopefully the next time they set their trap more people, or the right people/person, will respond and said 'thugs' will get what they deserve!
  23. All of the above is totally sickening to any sane human being, and I fail to comprehend how nicking a fiver from a corner shop with a plastic gun can lead to a longer jail term than those crimes already mentioned. If any politacal party wants to win my vote all they have to do is promise to change to change the law so that a fitting punishment meets the crime committed. For example: A cold blooded murderer is punished by being killed in the same manner that he/she ended his/hers victim's life (to be aired live on TV). A rapist is castrated (could also be aired on TV, but only if no anaesthetic is administered). A peodo is castrated and tortured (again, on live TV) in various imaginative ways. (If they need help in this I am willing to come up with numerous, very painful, ideas. (One day I will get around to publishing one of my novels and you can all get to see how twisted my mind can be!) I have many other ideas but I'm sure you get the picture. I'm also sorry if this seems a bit OTT but after a few vodkas and reading this I just had to get it off of my chest. The justice system in the UK just seems to one big joke for me. Which is only one of many reasons why I am happy not be living there at this present time!
  24. Don't beat yourself up over this Nick, and I empathise with your situation. A couple of years ago I was went swimming with my wife and daughter at a local lake. As we were leaving an ambulance went screaming past us towards the area we had come from. it turns out that there was a 10 year old boy who had been swimming about 500 yards from where we were who had got into difficulty. I discovered the folowing day that he was declared doa at the hospital. As a fully qualified lifeguard, and having been the medical officer onboard my last Royal Navy ship, I am certain (in my own mind) that had I been aware of the situation I could have saved his life. But, as you know, when there is lots of screaming and shouting going on (and especially in a foriegn language) we tend to not look for something being amiss. I found it very hard to realise that I was not at fault for what occurred, and thinking back on it has reawakened my belief that I could have helped - IF ONLY I KNEW AT THE TIME WHAT WAS HAPPENING. And therein lies the answer. We cannot always know what is happening, even when it is very close to where we are. I am certain that you are a good man and that you would do anything you could to help someone in distress or peril. This time your help was not to be, maybe another time it will be. I know it sounds hard right now but keep your chin up mate.
  25. I read somewhere on the net last (can't remember exactly where now) that at Cork he was used as a striker at home in a 4-4-2 formation and as a winger away in a 4-5-1 formation. So maybe that is where they get the striker/winger thing from? I haven't looked at his wiki page at all. I got/get my stats from soccerbase. Here is the link for this guy: http://www.soccerbase.com/players_details.sd?playerid=47075
