The more I hear from AP the more I like him. It does sound as if he wants to bring two more in this week (a CB and a Fwd) plus signing up Murty (although the last bit isn't mentioned in that interview).

You are absolutely spot on with all you say here Chez. I am very pleased (and relieved) that he has signed. I would have been gutted if he had decided to walk, as he easily could have done. I am also pleased that I didn't believe the guff that he was off to Wolves. As others have said, our left side now looks good - Fish, Harding and Holmes, with White and Gobern in emergency (and, I guess, Molly if we are really really desperate). Now lets get a RB, RM, CB (x2), CM and Fwd (or 2 if Rasiak goes) signed up!

If there is just one dot of truth in this rumour, which I sincerely doubt, I think Fish should have a chat with his brother Matt about the shortcomings of leaving Saints for life as a reserve in the Prem.

I asked the same question last week, and nobody seemed to know the answer then either. I think he must have the new contract for the following reasons: When Murty, Stern, etc, could not play in earlier friendlies (alledgedly because of insurance reasons as they were not signed up at Saints) Fish was playing. Fish has been given a squad number. Stern, who has yet to sign his contract was not given one (neither was Murty, obviously). So I am sure he has signed but we just haven't been told about it for some strange reason. I have another question though: What numbers did Stern and Murty wear today? (I would guess Stern was 14?)

I would have thought this is what he is referring to. But, in any case, who would you (in general) rather: John, Rasiak or Scowcroft? Personally, Scowcroft would come in 3rd place for me (which says everything about the c*ck-up that last season was).

Even though I'm 'Ampshire born and bred, I would have rather been at St. Mary's. Football (and Saints) comes waaayyyy before cricket any day of the week.

Well, it is also to hear how well Will copes with the commentary as well. Oh, and to see the goals (although I don't usually bother to look at them when we lose, so haven't really used that feature much in the past couple of years).

Oh dear. As I have said on numerous other threads, we really do need to sign 2 new CBs. It's a long old season.
