  1. The players who were picked and played in positions by Portaloo and then Wotte, who in turn were installed by Lowe and Wilde, took us down yes. If, for example, a new owner comes in and installs Lucy Pinder as 'head coach' and she plays a whole host of models who look nice but cannot kick a ball and we go down to League 2 with -10 points and a GD of -250 whose fault would it be: the players?; Lucy's?; or the new owners? As for the SISU bid I was quite pleased at the time that we didn't take it, however, I would much rather be in Coventry's position now than ours. (i.e. mid-table CCC and without a -10 start to next season).
  2. I fully agree. A CM of Gillet and Prutton would certainly have some bite for L1.
  3. Good Call!!
  4. But only after he was 'outed' on here!
  5. Pray tell us how you can back up this statement!
  6. Well, the way I would look at this is who will I feel most p!ssed off about if he is sold in the close season. I won't feel too upset when Saga, Skacel, Rasiak, Lallana, Surman, etc go, as I expect them to move on. Then there are those out of contract players who I doubt will have them renewed, such as: Euell, John, BWP, etc. I will be quite upset however if DMG, Gillett and James are not here next year. And, of those, I think there is the most chance of James going. Still, I am undecided between those 3. Definitely not: Forecast, Pulis, Gasmi, or any of the other waste of wages players we have signed this season!!!!
  7. Most probably, and how much did he pocket for arranging all these failures? Yet another waste of sooo valuable money from one of the world's greatest business men!!!
  8. I really hope we manage to keep hold of DMG and Lloyd James, and that we get a manager who will use them both in their best positions (i.e. not as lone striker or a RB). I would also like to see Drew stay, but I fully expect him and Lallana to go.
  9. Totally agree!!!!!!!!
  10. Aarron davis was great at Yeovil, and I certainly rate him higher than Smith (for example). However, I honestly believe our best option would be to sign a good, experienced, RB and to play Lloyd James at RM. He delivers a good cross and would be great at tracking back to help the RB after having played in that position for a year.
  11. My thoughts are not too far off of yours, but I don't think there is any way that a current full international would want to ply his trade in League 1. So Saga will surely go (plus he has already said this in the Polish press). I am also not too sure about Euell. He would certainly have to take a big pay cut. As for players coming in, as I have been saying for almost a year now we need a new RB and a new LB. I am not having a go at James here as he has definitely grown into the RB position, but I would still rather see him used in midfield (and as a back-up RB). Plus I would want to see us bring in a big, strong, CF. The problem I have over here is keeping track of those available and able to play in the lower leagues, so I have no idea as to who these new players would be. So my line-up would be something like: -------------------------------Davis------------------------- New RB----------Saeijs------------Thomas------New LB James-----------Gillett-------------Euell-----------Holmes -------------------New CF-----------DMG---------------- And we would still have the likes of Mills, Perry, Wotton, White, Paterson, McKlaggon, etc to come in. Not too bad IMO. P.S. I 100% agree with your choice of manager!!!
  12. Oooops, I missed one of our many defeats this season. Sorry. But to continue the pedant thing, I did take one point of of SU so they would be on the same 76 points as Reading but below them on GD. In any event, this would still mean that Reading would be going their last game in an automatic promotion position, so they should bung us a few (thousand) quid too.
  13. A young, fresh, modern manager for us to unite behind? Agree 100%!!!!!!!! He was my first choice when Burley left and has been ever sice.
  14. Has Romanov led Hearts to two relegations and administration???? Lowe (the first coming) got a nice healthy 250k+ (more than double the amount that led us into admin) for leading us to relegation from the prem and then failing to do anything to get us back there. Not bad for being 'accountable' especially when he had more than 25% of the shareholding in his pocket (probably because he had helped to line thiers).
  15. So, in your eyes, the person who was closest to being a shrewd and effective CEO was the one at the helm for two relegations and administration!? Thank fook there wasn't another option then.......... And if the shrewdest and most effective CEO of a PLC achieved that, imagine what a bad one would/could do to us.....................
  16. Did you not see the winky thing on the original post? Go have a lie down, there's a good boy.
  17. Nope. If a club folds during a season their matches are just scrubbed off and the table adjusted accordingly.
  18. ....should all make a donation to the cause to stop us from going under before Sunday. Brum becasue if we went they would not be able to get automatic promotion. Burnley because they would probably not make the play-offs. Barnsley because they would be safe from relegation. Forest because they could then get relegated. Although this might be counter productive as they would be relegated should Norwich win on Sunday and, of course, they would have no match to play themselves. Table as it would stand if all of Saints' results this season were removed: 1. Wolves 81 2. Sheff Utd 78 3. Reading 76 4. Brum C 74 5. Preston 71 6. Cardiff 71 7. Burnley 69 8. Swansea 64 9. Ipswich 62 10. QPR 57 11. Bristol C. 55 12. DonnyR. 55 13. Sheff Wed 54 14. C. Palace 53 15. Derby 53 16. Watford 51 17. Coventry 50 18. B?pool 49 19. Barnsley 48 20. Plymouth 47 21. N. Forest 47 22. Norwich 45 23. Charlton 32 Alternatively, Delia could get some friends to buy us and fold us before Sunday so that Norwich have a better chance of staying up.
  19. Would this be the same management, whom you have been championing on here, who has presided over 2 relegations and administration? How much money over the past 12 years has been spent on share-buy-backs, boardroom bonuses, etc? I am certain it would be the difference between where we are now and not having to worry about not being in existance this time next week. How much money have board members (aside from Leon) pumped into the club? Apparently we went into admin because we exceeded our overdraught by 110k. If it was a private company I am sure the owners would have found a way to raise such a (in footballing terms) paltry sum. A private owner will still listen to his fanbase customers. If they don't come through the turnstiles he/she will have to do something to attract them back. However, in a plc the chairman is just picking up a wage to do a job. No matter how shambolically that job is done he still gets paid, and if he leaves because of his own inabilities he will still get a nice big payday when he goes!
  20. Saint Patrick was born in what is now Cumbria, so he was English. He was taken to Ireland at the age of 16 and was forced to work as a slave (on a pig farm). He escaped after 6 years and went to France, where he became a monk. He later returned to Ireland to convert the pagans to Christianity. Here endeth the lesson!
  21. I don't believe the 1.2m offer, but do think we were offered 500k for him from Swansea in January. Seeing as how Lowe knew the exact placement of the goalposts at this time (he is blaming admin on them moving in Sept) I believe it is absolutely mental that we turned this down.
  22. I shall be doing something to celebrate, but not sure what yet. Whatever it is it will be after I have given a special St George's day lesson to my students. By the way, he is also the Patron Saint of Georgia, Greece, Lithuania, Palestine, Portugal, Beirut, Barcelona, Genoa, Milan and Moscow....to name but a few places (there are many more)... Oh, and of Boy Scouts and syphallis too I believe!!
  23. Or rubbish football because of Lowe's idiotic 'Dutch total football with kids' experiment? Anyway, back to the point of the fred..... Is Philip Green any relative of Peter? Only there could be a local connection as I can remember the Peter Green shop on the corner of Market Street and Blenheim Road in Eastleigh from many years ago.
  24. I rated Graham Baker highly back in the day, but not as highly as Steve Williams. I was gutted when both of them left Saints. I seem to recall that GB was England Under 21 capt for quite some time?? Anyway, good luck to him in his new job.
