  1. Absolutely spot on UM!
  2. Superb news! Life gets better and better. Well done Bailey for calling this yesterday.
  3. Superb news!!! I felt as happy reading that article as I did when I saw the takeover was completed.
  4. It would be nice to have Adam available this season, but I don't honestly see a place in the starting 11 for him (unless he is played out of position). The only position he really fulfills (IMO) is in the hole. He is not strong enough for CM, not a good enough crosser/not fast enough for RM and does not score enough for a fwd. So, I would like to have him available to come off of the bench or to be used in certain matches (but this would mean having a manager with the ability to swap and change things as appropriate), but if Adam does want away then get as much money as possible and wish the lad well. By the way, I believe Kayne McLaggon will become a far better player than Lallana and that he will make a big impact during the second half of this season (when he has fully recovered from his injury).
  5. I like your thinking Phil, as I am already a subscriber to SaintsTV.
  6. Totally agree. Obviously being an ex-pat having a season ticket is a huge waste of money for me. But, as others have said, paying out 20 quid to be sure of being able to get a ticket for the play-off final (should we reach it) is maybe worth the gamble. And, before anyone asks why a person who lives abroad and only comes over a few games a season should get such a ticket as opposed to someone who goes to SMS regularly, memberships are available to anyone who wants to purchase them.
  7. Oh, and if Wotte is given the chance in lg1 we will see how he compares with Pearson then won't we? I would fully expect him (with the addition of 10 points of course) to get us promoted as champions if, as you state, he is so much better than NP. I guess time will tell, or (hopefully) not.
  8. There you again. Please explain how a manager/head coach who was involved with a team ALL season and ended up firmly at the helm when they got relegated is better than a pe(a)rson who has to come in with few games remaining, steadies a sinking ship and keeps it afloat? Fancy pointing us to Wotte's and Pearson's points per game ratios?
  9. Hmmm, and this from a man who didn't think the manager who saved us from relegation the previous season (unlike Wotte, and with a better points per match record than him in the CCC) was worthy to be kept on. I think the term you regularly used was 'boot boy' when reffering to Nigel Pearson? I believe he also 'remained loyal' over the close season. Let's also not forget that Wotte was involved for the entire season during our relegation the the 3rd tier.
  10. Hmmm, apart from a 3 match spell I think he fell well short of the grade last season. I also believe there are far better managers available. Having said that, he has certainly carried himself with dignity during the past few months, he has already started with the pre-season preps, he knows the players and should know which areas we need to reinforce. Ideally I would like us to get Tisdale in, but I can see why others believe he should be given a chance. If, as it appears he will be, given a chance I will (obviously) wish him every success in the world. However, I will reserve the right to criticise him should we not be climbing into the top half of the table by Christmas.
  11. I don't expect us to sign anyone with a transfer fee. If we sign Murty and JPS (and maybe one or two others) on frees, offer contracts to a few whose contracts have run out and bring in a couple of decent loans, I think we will do okay this season.
  12. Thank you Markus. I will toast you with some of my finest vodka this evening.
  13. Now that the takeover is complete and it seems that Wotte will be staying on as manger, I have a feeling John, Euell and BWP will be offered new contracts and our first permanent new signing will be JPS.
  14. Yep, that was a fantastic match. I don't believe nobody has mentioned the 6-3 drubbing of ManUre yet. Undoubtedly one of my best afternoons EVER, let alone one of my best at the Dell! And another match that springs to mind (I'm sure it was an evening game) was the 8-2 win over Coventry. I seem to remember that both Steve Moran and Danny Wallace (or was it Rod?) scored a hatrick in that match.
  15. I would like DMG to stay as I think he would score a lot of goals for us next season, given the right manager and played in the right position (i.e. not as a lone striker). However, I believe he has a young child in Nottingham so understand his (rumoured/possible) desire to move back there. As Bailey has said earilier in this thread, it would be good to keep him but no player is irreplaceable.
  16. I can never understand this arguement. I mean, if cloggers are better than skilled footballers, why don't lower league teams win the FA Cup every year? The reason, IMHO, is that skill will (nine times out of ten) prevail over cloggers. I do agree that we do need some grit throughout the side, but not hoofing it straight from the 'keeper/CB to the CF all game. And, as for Wotte, his results last season indicated to me that first team coach/manager of a team in an English league is not his place. Very one dimensional and instilled hardly any fight in the players. Paul Tisdale for me, or even someone like Gary Speed as player/(assistant) manager. I really can't see WGS coming back.
  17. I am surprised that N.korea haven't already declared war....on TSW......as I have it on good authority that 'Rattlehead' recently visited said country! On a serious note though, yes it is all a bit worrying. I, for one, am seriously hoping that China manage to put them back in their box as I don't think they will listen to anyone else.
  18. I hope not. As much as loved him as a player I would much prefer an experienced manager.
  19. Did you not read what I wrote? Or do you simply refuse to believe the facts? When that money was spent Leon Crouch WAS NOT chairman of the football club. Rupert Lowe was chairman for the first 2m and Wilde was chairman for the other 5.6m!!!!!!!!! So why oh why did Lowe and Wilde allow that money to be spent??? And why oh why, in the very short period of time that Leon was in the chair, didn't Wilde stop the (comparitively very minimal) spending with his 16% share-holding (against LC's
  20. We know.
  21. Oh, and welll done to Leon for helping us out AGAIN! It's such a pity that those who are more culpable for our downfall cannot even give a fraction of what you have.
  22. Very sad news. Deepest condolences to all his family and friends. R.I.P. Dean
  23. That's actually not a bad shout, but amending the theme slightly, how about Gary Speed as player/assistant manager to Paul Tisdale? That is now my new dream team!
  24. Well said Derry. You saved me the effort of typing that!
