I seem to recall he was replaced with Branfoot; And I think Askham was chairman when the protests were occurring about him; So maybe it was Askham who fired Nichol?; That being the case I would fully agree with your conclusion/recommendation/desire?

18p a share, surely now the time is right!!
Minsk replied to thorpie the sinner's topic in The Saints
Could a company who deal stocks and shares and with whom share holders with more 3% are involved (W H Ireland, for example) buy up shares without it appearing on the radar? I believe it was alledged that Askham did such a thing back in '96. -
If you notice, the article doesn't say when he is coming back. I am pretty sure Swansea weren't too bothered aabout the bid being turned down as they know they have him until the end of the season anyway. In the summer they may be able to get him for a lot cheaper from the administrators; or all may be well and he may return to us for pre-season training; or someone else may come in with a better bid. But, I sincerely doubt he will be playing in a Saints shirt again this season.
-
IF he signed after mid-day I believe he is ineligable to play?
-
Skacel did not play in 'that' match. As I said, if your 'theory' has any legs in it (which I sincerely doubt) hopefully they will take Pulis from us and pay for the privalege.
-
FTF and CB Fry, some very sensible posts!
-
If you are hinting at Saga, that is against UEFA rules. He could only have been loaned to another foreign club if he had not signed back at Saints after his time Aab.
-
I think you are well wide of the mark with this conspiracy theory, but just to humour you: 1st half: Forecast, Hatch, Saeijs, Perry, Molyneux, James, Smith, Gillet, McGoldrick, Lallana, Holmes 2nd half: Forecast, Imudia, Wotton, Lancashire, Mills, Schneiderlin, Boyle, Pulis, B. Wright-Philips, Saganowski, Gasmi Incidentaly in this match DMG scored 2, Spiderman, Pulis and Gasmi got one each. So, if you do happen to be right, maybe they will take Pulis and Gasmi off our hands. That, IMO, would be a result!
-
No, but neither is it slagging him. It is a FACT that Zoltan was signed by Southend after they were relegated to League 1 and when he couldn't break into their side he was loaned out to Stevenage Borough of the Conference (where he made a couple of appearances and stayed on the bench a few more times) and this (I believe) was only last season! Now, I want any player in a Saints shirt to be the world's best and become a hero at SMS but either: a) he has improved DRAMATICALLY in the past year or b) Wotte was lieing when he said he would only sign proven players better than we already had. Which do you think is the case? P.S. Zoltan played for the team we beat 5-2 at SMS recently. Scorers: DMG 2, Spiderman, Pulis, Gasmi

I should hope the game is on. It makes me laugh how a bit of snow over there almost brings the country to a halt. Although the football season here obviously doesn't run through winter, we did have a lot of snow for a few days before Bate played Real Madrid here. The pitch was fine but the whole crowd stood all through the match because the seats were covered in about 5 inches of frozen snow (all the seats in the Dynamo stadium are open to the elements). Athough that was dangerous too as the concrete in front of the seats was like an ice-rink - they're not too bothered about health and safety here.

Gets my vote. I can just see him hugging and stroking his chair in the boardroom whilst mumbling, 'My Precious, We loves you My Precious.'
-
I see are using the same acusation that Mangy did in another thread. Where has anyone 'slagged off' Zoltan? All people have done is point out his history to date. Does that history fill you with confidence about his abilities? As for the OP's original question on this thread, I think the term 'great' is overdoing it somewhat. I am very pleased that we did not lose Kelvin or Drew. If they are used, I am also pleased we still have Rudi and Euell. I am ecstatic that we have Saga back, but that isn't really anything to do with this window. I am happy we signed Size. As for the others, I will wait patiently to be convinced they were worth the paper that thier contracts are written on, let alone fees, wages, etc. All in all, I guess it was a better window than I had anticipated - but it could have been far more inspiring.
-
So that's how he managed to get Smith and Molyneux to SMS!
-
I haven't seen anyone 'slag' him. Point me to a quote where anyone says 'he's sh!t'. However, some (myself included) have pointed out that his sole experience lays in Hungary; in being signed by, and failing to get a place in, a league one team; and a month's loan at a conference team, where he made 2 appearances. These are FACTS, not slagging. As is the FACT that Wotte stated; "I don't want anyone who isn't better than the players we have," and "If I bring in a player from abroad it has to be someone who has proven his quality and had played at a certain level." It's just a pity he didn't explain to us that the 'certain level' he was referring to was the friggin conference. Another FACT is that most who pointed these FACTS out also said they hope he does well for us (I certainly did). To be honest I am surprised we didn't sign his compatriot Zsolt Löw. So go on Manji, tell us what YOU think of this wonerous signing and why he will be great in the CCC. Oh, and here's the link to Wotte's quotes: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=11296
-
You need 2 to play in the TEAM; at least 4 in the SQUAD; IMO. Wotte said he would not bring in SQUAD players, only those good enough to walk into the TEAM.
-
Well done to both you and Connor. I am certain that the next march will have even more attendees. Good luck with everything.
-
Hmmmmm, seeing as Wotte stated that he would only sign players 'better than we already have, and who can go straight into the team' (or words to effect) I sincerely hope this guy is better than his list of previous clubs would suggest. I mean: signed from a Hungarian 2nd div team, who we beat 5-2 without Saga and Surman (to name but 2); previously signed by League 1 Southend, but couldn't break into their team; loaned a conference team for a month, where he made just 2 appearances. So, either this guy is much better than he would appear or our other defenders are deemed as less than conference level players in Wotte's eyes. Good luck Zoltan, I hope you prove to be a success at SMS.

After having had loads of snow in the past couple of months, we have a clear blue sky here in Minsk! I guess all our snow has headed west.

who ever decided to loan out saga should be put down
Minsk replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
It was NOT the LAST board, it was the one BEFORE THAT who wasted all the money. The one which WILDE put in place. He (WILDE) has now put two CEOs in place and between them they have screwed this club. And, as TDD said: Forecast Peckhart Robertson Smith Pulis Gasmi Plus whatever fees have been paid to Kim van der Walles; compensation for Portaloo (I will NEVER believe he bought his own contract out at his old club); wages for coaches sat on gardening leave; wages and expenses for both chairmen (Crouch never took a penny); etc; etc; etc. Add all this together and we could probably not only have retained the services of an international CF for the first half of the season (we had 3 to chose from, and Saga would have been my first choice), but we may have even been able to bring an experienced RB or LB!!!!!! In which case results probably would have been better, meaning attendences would be up and we would be in a better position financially. -
It is great to hear there was such a good turn out and that it was trouble free. Well done to all involved! I was there in mind and heart, and hoping the weather was a lot better for you than the 6 inches of snow and a high of -10 I was enjoying here.
-
There are more ways than one to skin a cat. We could have kept Saga and not signed Forecast, Pulis, Gasmi, Peckhart, Smith, Robertson. Apart from the latter's goal against Norwich at SMS (and a cracker it was, I was in the Northam that night) what have they done for our cause this season? Oh, and not to mention whatever 'fees' we are paying our chairmen and their advisors (KvdW, etc).
-
Which managers have said Rudi has a bad attitude? link please
-
Saga shows what we have been missing for half the season. DMG tame shot at 'keeper. Wotton shoots from range, well wide. We are getting shots in today!
-
Who is this guy commentating? For those without commentary, lucky you. Saints had a corner; worked a training ground routine; Perry shot blocked on the line; Saints claimed for handball; ref gave a free-kick to Swans.
-
Yep, I would go with that line-up as well. But I expect it will be: ------------------ Davis ------------------- James ----- Saeijs ----- Perry ----- Molyneux Lallana ----Gillett ------ Wotton --- Surman -------- Saganowski --- McGoldrick --------- Subs: Bialkowski, Lancashire, Euell, Smith, BWP
