  1. The question is: should it have been working tonight, or has it gone to the wall due to administration?
  2. No doubt Liptak is going to play up front for the last few minutes. An excellent decision Mr. Chocolate man. How many goals has Liptak scored in England?
  3. Rattlehead for manager it is then! Seriously, I would go for Paul Tisdale (as I said after Burley left and after Portaloo went).
  4. Very encouraging! I also found this one from the States: "I heard there were a bunch of cowboys here before, so we should fit in well," by Helpme Rounda Themup (the third).
  5. The 'several parties' could well be just those we owe money to. One can live in hope (if they so wish) that one of those parties might be someone willing to put money in though.
  6. As was said above, it has been mentioned on Sky News - not much was said though. It hasn't made the national Belorusian news yet though, and neither is there anything on the OS about it at present (surprise, surprise).
  7. No, we sign up to get to travel the world at the tax-payer's expense and to qualify for a pension at the age of 40.
  8. I don't understand why they need more funds coming in now in order to publish the financial situation of the 6 months from July-December 2008.
  9. Hmmm, I thought this was the lounge not TMS.:smt017
  10. As an ex-serviceman I of course agree with this but, as has been raised above, there should be caveats. For example: someone who served 3 years in the RAF, sat mostly at Hendon or such like, should not (IMO) get preferential treatment. But someone who has served the full 22, or who has been forced to retire due to injuries occurred during service, or who has spent x-amount of time on the front line (e.g. 2-3x6 month tours and having been under fire in Iraq or Afgahnistan) should most definitely get something for putting their life on the line for Queen and country. And no, it is nothing like the same as teachers do. I know, I spent 25 years in the RN and am now a teacher! Incidentaly, this is one area where the USA are definitely better than the UK. When there service personnel retire they get an ID card with the rate they were of at retirement with 'rtd' after it. They are then permitted full use of US military bases 'worldwide' including the medical facilities, gyms, bars, duty free shops, etc.
  11. I hope he does get a new contract as I have a feeling he will become a very decent player.
  12. You mean like Jan Saiejs? Or maybe like Davis, Euell and James who will be free to sign for anyone else at the season's end?
  13. Of course, everything depends on what league we will be playing in next year. But I would call it like this: Kelvin Davis - would love to keep him no matter what, but I am pretty sure he will be gone if we go down Poke - let go Perry - keep, no matter which league we are in Svensson - would not keep as a player BWP - keep, but only if he will accept much lower wages Stern John - he is gone already Euell - let go (unless he also agrees to MUCH lower wages) Jamie Hatch - keep (we need a reserve team) Lloyd James - definitely keep, but please sign a RB and play him in midfield Jake Thomson - definitely keep, we will regret it if we don't Ryan Smith - let go Jack Boyle - possibly keep Joseph Mills - definitely keep (especially if Skacel goes elswhere) Jeffrey Imudia - keep Andrej Pernecky - keep (if we go down would be 3rd choice 'keeper) Jamie White - definitely keep Michael Byrne - keep And will we be able to sign Saeijs on a permanent deal? Saeijs will sign permanently for us if we stay up. He will go back if we go down. As for the other loanees (Gasmi and Liptak) I would not want to retain either of these.
  14. I really hope you are right TDD. I have never thought we would be relegated before, even when in the prem in a far worse position than we find ourselves today. However, I have tried to mentaly prepare myself for it this year. I do think we have a chance of staying of up, but I don't even want to start thinking that we will until we are at least 4 points above the relegation places. Oh, and fair winds and calm seas to you...... not that it will matter at all where you will be!!
  15. I am really gutted to miss out on this, but with travel costs and having to take a week off work to come over it would cost me nearer a grand to participate. Plus at almost 46 years old I would most probably be the oldest one out there and 45 mins would probably be 40 mins too long. Having said that I did play 90 mins against mostly mid-20 year olds half-a-dozen times last August/September, but it did take me almost a week to recover after each match. A shame as I would have bid for fullback slot (equally adept/crap with either foot - why are so many professionals only able to kick a ball with only one foot?) Still, I will be interested in a dvd of the match - if only to critique the performances.
  16. Mine is working fine in IE
  17. Apart from the fact it was an entirely different deal. We already had the money in the bank before we signed the injured Pulis Jnr. Surely a 'good businessman' would have found a way out of signing him and of keeping the cash already agreed for the sale of Davies.
  18. Are you SERIOUSLY suggesting that Stoke paid us to take him off their hands? I know he is their manager's son but come on. If they wanted rid of him that badly they could have let him go to a League 1 team on a free (and he might possibly have made an appearance on the pitch down there, might possibly).
  19. Trying to be as realistic and fair as possible, I get a bottom 8 of: 17 Plymouth 52 18 C Palace 51 19 Saints 51 20 Watford 49 21 B'pool 47 22 Barnsley 47 23 Norwich 42 24 Charlton 37 I would be VERY happy with this, especially as I predicted us to finish 18th at the beginning of the season.
  20. Remembering we are Saints, and not getting carried away after 3 superb wins on the trot, I see our remaining fixtures panning out thus: BIRMINGHAM AWAY - LOSE DERBY HOME - WIN QPR HOME - DRAW BLACKPOOL AWAY - DRAW CHARLTON HOME - WIN WATFORD AWAY - LOSE WOLVES AWAY - LOSE CRYSTAL PALACE HOME - WIN SHEFF WED AWAY - LOSE BURNLEY HOME - WIN NOTTM FOREST AWAY - LOSE Total W 4 D 2 L 5 = 14 points Which will see us finish on 51 points. I hope this will be enough.
  21. Amen to that!
  22. I could barely believe my ears listening to the match commentary. Well done to the players and the coaching staff. Wotte is quickly making me eat humble pie at his appointment, as I hoped (and still hope, it won't be eaten until such a time as we are mathematically safe to stay up) he would. Thank you Portaloo for resigning when you did! (Although you could have done it sooner.)
  23. There is definitely one thing to thank Portaloo for, and that is for 'RESIGNING'. If he had not done so when he did we would not be doing what we are now! Which begs the questions: Why the fook was he appointed ahead of Wotte in the first place; and, Why the fook wouldn't Lowe sack him when it was obvious he was not up to the task?
  24. And his pose in that pic just to go show how correct my suggested chant was!
