  1. Aston villa were second, they then played 6 of last seasons top 7 and now they are 15th
  2. I go there quite a bit for work, usually stay in the Hilton on William Street, central to town, got a decent sauna and swimming pool and reasonable. I've also stayed at three premier Inns, the Radison blue, which was massively over rated, the Erskine Bridge, which was cheap but dreadful. If you can stretch to it marr hall is fantastic, £25 in a taxi into town though. Used to get a corporate rate there is an old job so a room was £99 rather than the usual rate which was far higher. http://www.marhall.com
  3. It still the usual excitable morons spouting it, look who started this thread for evidence. although this time they have a bit more substance. We've got a deeper and better squad now than last season, what appears to be a better manager so far and in Pelle the striker Osvaldo was meant to be. Throw into the mix that many of the top 7 staples of the last few years are underachieving right now then perhaps the door is more open now than a year ago. However whilst we appear to be stronger now then last season it would still be an incredible achievement to finish top 6 and still depends on a lot going right for us and wrong for bigger clubs than us.
  4. The players and staff aren't the ones talking about. The board are quietly going about their business as they should do and the players are doing their talking on the pitch, not running their mouths off about what we are going to do like some people I could mention, which is exactly how it should be.
  5. Top 6 would be an awesome achievement, we'd have to finish above one of Spurs, Everton, Man United and Liverpool, all top 7 staples, far bigger clubs than us with far greater incomes. In fact two finishes in the top 8 would be given the upheval in the summer. People need to rein it in a bit, for us to finish above one of those clubs would be fantastic, to finish above 3 or 4 of them to finish top4 would be something of a miracle.
  6. I really like him, seems like a decent down to earth guy who is happy to be here. None of the big club, champions league winner arrogance that some bit part players at top clubs have.
  7. Personally rather win a cup than finish top 4 anyway.

I often read Edmund Hilary's words after he walked on the moon and believe everyone could take inspiration from his words 'people do not decide to become extraordinary, they decide to accomplish extraordinary things' Maybe this team has decided to accomplish something extraordinary?

    man. Everest. Climb. Never.
  10. Image all those things but all in one poster and dozens of them on here! Now you get my point, right? Let's keep the off.
  11. I'd expect they'd be more interested in golf at one of those pal.
  12. I'm not sure it would Lou. Imagine the meltdowns on the match threads if losing coincided with time of the month. You'd have women trying to make football chants out of Take That songs, not forgetting the amount of times you'd end up repeating the offside rule whenever a debatable decision was made. They might be useful on the annual next seasons kit thread though.
  13. What's not to like? Firstly there is already a thread on this. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?52241-Football-Focus-Interview-with-Saints-star Secondly, typical woman frothing about his looks rather than his football ability. He's just a piece of meat to you isn't he, disgusting that you'll be perving all over him. Ruled by your fanny you women. Locked and suitably infracted.
  14. Thirsty Hirsty was more interested in the pubs and bars of Bedford Place.
  15. Wasn't he relegated with about 5 different clubs? QPR, Forest, Saints, West ham and Birmingham I think.
  16. Well that's not what I was told, I was told he was completely disinterested, refused to learn English and on several occasions said "I don't know what I am doing in this f*cking place" he hated it here. Funny how his knee always seemed to be okay when there was a big Ecuador game going on.
  17. One Ronald Koeman clap clap clap Ronald koeman a red and white army, clap clap clap He manages to the left he manages to the right Ronald Koeman, makes Andy Alford look ****e This is now it feels to be Pompey, this is how it feels to be poor You signed Alford we sign super Ronnie, super Ronnie, super Ronnie Koeman woooh ooh He used to be Valencia's boss He thinks Pompey are toss Ronald Koeman, Ronald Koeman He came from holland And he like Edam Ronald Koeman, Ronald Koeman He likes to wear clogs, thinks girls from pompey are dogs Ronald Koeman, Ronald Koeman He don't live in windmill thinks Pompey smell Ronald Koeman, Ronald Koeman He likes a joint or two, thinks pomey are poo Ronald Koeman, Ronald Koeman Clap clap clap clap clap.
  18. Bit unfair on Redknapp, he did his best but he was in a bad way when he joined, could only play once a week and his knee blew up to twice the size after every game. He should never have been signed as he wasn't anywhere near able to cope with a first choice player in a premier league side, in his prime though he was a magnificent player, who would have been world class if he wasn't made of glass. I used to know his brother and he said he had a lot of affection for Saints, Always felt he did his best for us but physically no longer up to it. The others though, Davenport, Bernard truly woeful.
  19. Best quote ever from Strachan on him, something along the lines of 'he came into my office tell me he thought he should be playing more, so I told him he would do if he got fitter and played better'
  20. We all hate the Pompey scum we do ron ron ron, we do ron ron We got Peter Crouch sent off and he scored none we do ron ron ron, we do ron ron Yeahhh Koeman hates the skates Yeahhh we can even score eight Yeahhh and we know he’s a Saint he hates the pompey scum, you do Ron Ron
  21. Pure luck
  22. Incredible that you weren't alive the only time we've won a major trophy (Neither was I) and you're happy to go through life seeing saints never win a major trophy, as long as we win a few league games a season. Baffling, truely baffling.
  23. So you'd rather be the 6th best team in the country but without a trophy than the 10th best team with a few to their name, fair enough. Isn't being a sports club about trying to win things though? Isn't that the whole point? I fail to see the compelling reason why anyone would want to finish the season empty handed and slightly higher in the league than with a trophy in the cabinet. Able to brag about being about being 6th rather than 10th? nah, give me a trophy any day. I cant remember the last club to do an open bus parade waving the cheque for finishing 6th to the joyous crowd so maybe when that day comes it might change my view.
  24. I get confused when they say we've lost the Loverns, Lallanas, Shaws etc, i'm pretty sure we only had and sold one of each.
