89/90 was a pretty exciting season, 4-2-4 for some of it, Le Tiss, Shearer and Wallace, loads of goals and some really memorable performances. 4-1 v Liverpool the stand out, honourable mentions to 4-1 v Norwich and the best hatrick you'll ever see, 4-1 away at QPR and 6-3 at home to Luton.

He wanted 69 but he owes the kit man twice.

Andre Kanchelskis

Kevin Davies - signed for £750k sold for 10 times that a year later Dean Richards free - sold for £8m Niemi and Michael Svenson - £2m each and two of the best players we've ever had in their positions Jimmy Case £50k, incredible. Mark Wright - signed for next to nowt, brilliant centre half Tim flowers - signed from Wolves for next to nowt, brilliant keeper.

Rudi Skacel.

It would work at home. We seemed to do okay last season without anyone giving the full backs any protection!! You've got a solid back 6 there anyway, think we'd be difficult to breakdown with those players there. There is also a lot or pace and power in the side now.

Are we wasting time going for unrealistic transfer targets ?

Is it as childish as ripping up your season ticket in a tantrum? -
I'd like to see us do what Man city do when Toure and Barry sit in front of the back 4, Tevez (will be someone else now)and Aguero up front with Nasri and Silva having almost free roles in between them. Almost a 4-2-2-2. Ramirez and Lallana aren't naturally wide players but if they had licence to roam then they'd have Wanyama and Schniderlinn behind them -----------Boruc Clyne Yoshida lovern Shaw -----Schindelin---Wanyama ------Ramirez------ Lallana ------Rodriguez------Lambert

That's fine, we'll just sign him for the season after next, its the southampton way.

Absolutely yes.

He's out of posts now so will have to, I'm sure with a clear head in the morning he'll regret his outburst. -

I do enjoy a post that claims that its either stripes and relegation or a plain kit and living the dream. -

On the subject of people who contribute little to this board; Have you ever made a post which isn't either slagging someone off or talking about yourself? -
awful, awful attempt. 1/10.

if he is so good why did not one but two manager not pick him, come on 110, you're the one say the lad only had one bad game last season. And you're using the Forren logic, so lets apply that with Mayuka, that we signed a player in August 2012, didnt play him because we were signing him to play the following season did we?? Signed him a whole season before we needed him. You're not very good at this are you.

Is it what i've said wrong then? -
why didn't Adkins or MP pick him for months and months and month then? Why did he only get one start all season?
-
Why do you think that was? Did we need to give Tommy Forecast a run of games to prove he was good enough to be a premier league goalkeeper?
-
15 good minutes in a whole season, what a player.

You know the answer to that Alps. If anyone dares to suggest that Southampton isn't some mega club that players are fighting each other to join you're called a troll. The reality is that we might be bidding for the same players as napoli, Liverpool, Spurs etc and might even be able to offer comparable wages. But these clubs all have a rich history of European footbal and challenging for trophies and are huge clubs. With all the will in the world the reality is we aren't. When Spurs qualified for the champions league we were in L1, when Liverpool last won champions league we were being relegated to the championship. With the TSW delision, some people on here seem to think that international footballers will take a look at Staplewood and spend 5 minutes in the company of Cortese and think he is the greatest man who ever lived and a club they had always dreamed of playing for, the reality is they wont. -
We need someone who can do both, None of our current wide players can beat a man on the outside, they all cut in which made us very narrow and predictable at times last season.
