  1. It's pretty clear that a number of people on this forum are supporters of Nicola Cortese not southampton FC.
  2. Never really got the Man United hate. Yes they have a lot if helmet plastic fans but they are no more annoying than spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool fans. They are a club to be admired IMO. Always had a good academy and produced quality players, including IMO two of the greatest British players of last 30 years in Giggs and Scholes. Ferguson also built teams rather than buying the best individuals, you look at his transfer policy through his 20 years of success and it was always buying the best young talent available, he never really brought superstars in the way Chelsea and Man city do, in the main is was quality young talent and mould them into a Man United team. They also played an exciting attacking brand of football and there was never a dull moment watching them. People moan about Fergie time and the way man united where under him but that's because he was a winner and never accepted anything less than that. They might well be doing a Liverpool for the next few years but I've always felt they won and did it the right way.
  3. Still playing the post not the poster I see.
  4. The badges on the socks fell off very quickly on mine. Disgracefully poor quality. I wrote into on the march fanzine to express my disgust as there were no mongboards in those days to complain on.
  5. Oh you're for it now "small fry" they'll hit you with the 'failing to see the bigger picture' lamblast, or if they really want to get you then stand by for the laughing emoticon, a dagger through the heart of all serious posters, that'll rattle you Fried.
  6. FFS will you have some perspective!!
  7. Seems to be its you that's struggling with that old boy.
  8. Before you start with your "in 1887 we wore a sash, in 1892 we wore red and white quarters and in 1932 we wore blue shorts so we dont have a tradition" nonsense, a tradition is by definition "A long-established custom or belief that has been passed on from one generation to another:" SInce 1951 we've worn stripes with black shorts aside from a period in the 80s' and now. 60 odd years which makes that is long established custom which has passed through 3 generations of Saints fans. So just shut up you plank. PS i'm not fussed about stripes.
  9. I'm still expecting us to sign players for reasonable amounts of money, but it'll be more looking for the next Benteke than chasing marque, ego signings like Osvaldo. Im fine with this, i'd much rather have a promising player from the Belgian or Dutch league who wants to come to England and play in the premier league than a someone from Serie A who isn't wanted there and only here because we're the only clu that'll take him.
  10. I cant believe this. I immediately booked flights to Korea, China and Australia on seeing this costing me £3854, these are non refundable and this is a joke?
  11. When you say personal agenda, do you mean an opinion different to the accepted one on here? some people seemed unable to see any fault in him whatsoever, blinding sucking up what they were told and finding all sorts of ways to justify his actions.
  12. Credit where it's due, he did that on the football side. It was other areas of the club he failed to do that in.
  13. Dont get stroppy. If one of the directors is the same and the owner is the same it isn't a completely new regime like you said it was, is it.
  14. Ask not If you can sell virtually no more corporate seats and boxes in the Premier league than in L1, but how.
  15. No it isn't. THe CFO is now the CEO, The owner is the same. There are a couple of new directors, rather than one all powerful being who wouldnt let the owner know what he was doing. It isn't a new regime.
  16. It isn't a new regime.
  17. Of course he left of his own accord. He was a hero and miracle worker and the meltdown and mass player unrest that were warned is now coming to fruition. Myself and the other "trolls" that suggested he wasn't anything other than the greatest man who has ever lived have certainly been shown up.
  18. Pretty clear why they wanted shot of Nick Nack.
  19. City need a win, so if we can keep them at bay for half hour then they might start getting anxious which will work in our favour, However I fully expect them to beat us, probably comfortably 3-1.
  20. How long before those photos are used by MLG as evidence we need to expand SMS?
  21. Used the steel bells before, pretty good all round bit of kit. Was a member of Pure in Bitterne when i lived in Southampton, is a very good gym for the money. Good equipment, lots of classes and cheap.
  22. Give the stronglifts 5x5 a go. Google it, is very good for building strength quickly. To build muscle lots of protein, get some creatine down you and 3,000 calories a of clean stuff, meats, chickens and veg. The claim is you'll add on 25 pounds of muscle in your first year following it. Im not sure about the muscle weight gain but it certainly adds KG's onto all your lifts quickly.
  23. What i dont understand is that if they own their own club as the like to sing and claim to be the largest fans owned club in England and most of the fans have wanted him out for weeks then how did he last so long? Could it be more the FACT that the club is actually run by a load of chancers posing as fans with the obligatory FOTB to prove what a mistake it is whenever any club lets fans have any tiny amount of power whatsoever?
  24. Clearly the sponsors didn't buy into the brash champions league brags, this is reflected in the deal.
  25. Not great according to this. http://www.sportingintelligence.com/2013/08/20/premier-league-shirt-sponsors-pour-record-166m-into-top-flight-bank-accounts-200801/
