  1. Surely Cardiff fans will be defending Tan on the forums, they will be reminding everyone where the club was 4 years ago and without him they might not have a club to support. Mackay is just a department head and everything about the success the club has enjoyed is totally down to the chairman.
  2. I see no one has mentioned how we are doing compared to the corresponding fixtures last season for a while. A few weeks back this was hailed as being an excellent benchmark for our progress, why has no one mentioned in the last 5 fixtures we are 5 points worse off?
  3. Don't quote that idiot, another good thread hijacked by Fry. what is the point of the ignore feature if people can quote and you can read it anyway? Where are the mods? It's about time the acted against this constant ruining of threads.
  4. I've put myself on ignore as I realised its people like me that are ruining the forum. If I can't read my own posts then hopefully the forum will go back to being amazing again.
  5. Do they?
  6. HOW MANY TIMES? IF WE HAD WON AT SUNDERLAND WE WOULD GO DOWN. FFS
  7. In 10 years time will people remember in 2013 Wigan won the FA cup and Swansea the league cup or that West ham finished 10th?
  8. And Adebayor scored a very good goal from getting it in the mixer. It wasn't their attacking strategy that was the problem, a couple of pacey wingers and a good big 'un and good little 'en up top is proven to work, so i'm glad to see that clubs are using that again. It was thei defence that was the problem, not enough nasty basta*ds to scare the sh*t out of the Wetspam (LOLZ) strikers. If they had players like Cattermole and Shawcross they'd have won easy.
  9. What is out best chance of winning something?
  10. SO who plays like that these days? We were told Chelsea played that way against us in the second half at their place, yet i would consider that to be direct football not hoofball.
  11. When does a long ball team become a team that play hoof ball? WHat is the cross over point?
  12. Just pointing out that that bit is not misleading at all. We did spend £36m on foreign players. The article also says that we have a "fine smattering of English players" in our starting XI but i guess you missed that bit. Funny that.
  13. That article doesn't paint Pochentino in a very good light. A long ball team with a low pass completiion percentage. Spent a fortune on foreign players. Lucky to inhert a decent squad at a good time. Gets away with tactical errors because no one scrutises his decisions. Fair comments or nonsenses? Either way it was written by a woman so what does she know about football?
  14. Not really. Did we or did we not spend £36m on foreign players?
  15. I'm not quite sure why everyone is so desperate to defend any suggestion of us being a long ball team. If that's how we play that's how we play. The quicker you get it forward to less time the ball spends in your half so perhaps our switch to being a long ball side, which would entail the ball spending as little time in our half as possible is part of the reason why we are so good defensively this season. I see it as a good thing rather than desperately trying to skew stats to make out we are something we are not.
  16. Absolute joke voting, Worse than the Eurovision song contest.
  17. I'll tell you what is arrogant Adrian. And that's a club with one major trophy to its name in 128 years considering one of the two major cup competitions beneath us.
  18. And there was me thinking the main raison d'être of a forum is to express opinions. It of course begs the question then, are we a sports team or a cash cow? Are our fans now more interested in finishing 8th because it means a few extra quid in the bank rather than have a good go at winning something. We've already seen it claimed some people would finish 6th over winning a cup and seem to think having a oh at winning it would be mean we would struggle in the league. For clubs like us the only realistic chance of a trophy is a cup, pretty sad that so called football fans would swap a day out and cup glory for finishing a couple of places higher in the league.
  19. I presume all the people slagging off cups as being irrelevant would not be interested in having a ticket to go to a final should we get there. They'd much rather queue for a ticket to Sunderland at home in the league than cue for a cup final ticket. They will upload hilarious fancy dress pictures of themselves outside the King Alfred for Fulham at home have a great time than walking up Wembley way to cup final. These games are so much more important to them surely? I presume non of them bothered with the JPT final and enjoyed the league win against Carlise the following season far more. Indeed the JPT final will be remembered as a hollow dsy for SFC as if we didn't get to that final we would most DEFINTELY have won L1 that season, right?
  20. Absolutely what sort of tin pot club would want to be only two games away from their 5th cup final in over 100 years.
  21. Never said it was. Certainly since becoming a dad I don't want to be away from home at all anymore, but that's the nature of the world we live in these days. People have to work hard and put the hours in or you'll struggle both financially and career wise. We'd all love to work the bare minimum but the reality is that for most this isn't an option. Anyway the overall point being teachers don't have a bad deal when you take into account wages + holiday + benefits. Many do a great a job but let's not make out they do it for the minimum wage, it's relatively well paid, they get a decent amount of holiday and good benefits. Yes many work long hours but so do most people who have a career these days.
  22. You play? I had no idea, you should tell us about it sometime.
  23. This is true. I said ages ago the players get treated like royalty and get whatever they want. One of the biggest issues Pardew had was that Cortese was forming close relationships with senior players which Pardew objected to and was one of the reasons why their relationship started to become strained.
