A change of formation to 4-3-3 maybe? Although I've said before I can see us playing a fluid 4-2-2-2 system with 2 defensive midfielders and two attacking ones with free roles.

Went to Cayo Gulliermo a few years back loved it, beautiful place. The island next door to Cayo Coco where bensfcno1 went. Fantastic weather, white sandy beaches, blue sea, great for boat trips. Did a couple down the coast wnd snorkelled round a couple of ship wrecks, a dolphin was swimming alongside the boat for a couple of miles which was brilliant. Hired a speed board for a day. Havana is class too, really interesting place. Top place and as you'd expect great for rum and cigars too. Lots of fat Canadians though.

I see Gavi white wines have taken to using Corteses name as part of their global rebranding. http://www.bbr.com/region-3640-gavi-cortese-di-gavi

Surely its a complement if anything?

That might have been the strategy but was it the reality? Were Brett Ornerod, Neil McCann, Danny Higginbotham, David Prutton, Paul smith, Steve Crainey etc better than what was already there? Or were they Do a jobbers? Strachan said in his autobiography he wanted to sign Saha, Malbranque he could have signed Drogba, Rosiky Adebeyor and Malouda but Lowe wouldn't. Whilst a lot of words were spoken the reality was most of the players signed weren't improvements on what was there, once that could have made a difference weren't signed and Lowe tried doing it all on the cheap. The fact was he was happy with us as a midtable club returning a profit to its shareholders every season. Presumably you've forgotten about all the moaning after the 2003 final about not investing in the side to push us on? It seems a lot of our fans have short memories and can't remember that period as it was. We had a good squad but we stood still, didnt grasp the opportunity we had and ultimately failure to improve the side meant we had a large full of average players. We were happy to stay in midtable, didn't progress and it was our undoing.
-
Big club yes, they still are, one that has done spectacularly badly for themselves. Big 5, no. Think back to that time, 'the big 5' as they were called then were the clubs I listed.
-
The skates are right.
-
Why? What is incorrect about the statement?
-
Do you think Rupert Lowes 'one for the squad' transfer strategy was one of a strategy of pushing on to the fabled 'next level' consolidating our midtable position or deliberately taking us down?
-
In the 1980s the 'big five' were considered to be Liverpool, Everton, Man united, Arsenal, Spurs. In 2013 those 5 made up the top 7 alongside two other very big clubs who have spent 100s of millions to get there, so what has changed in the last 30 years Les? One mans time warp is another mans grip on reality.
-
SFC 2001-04 patented that strategy.
-
The platform to catch the 'next level' train is pretty busy isn't it.

If I was banned who would you stalk then? Last time I looked over 75% of your posts were about me or in response to me. I see you seem to be positioning yourself as some sort of mboard vigilante intent on trying to take out the dissenters, its quite sweet but very sad. What is also noticeable is that you've ignored my argument and points on here now and turned yet another thread into your crusade against me, bless you.
-
It's post like this that the mods need to stamp out. No contribution to the discussion at all, just a totally unnessasary personal attack. And people want me banned.
-
I seem to remember a while back you bragged that your posts were worth reading, I can assure you the comedy value of yours today have proven your arrogance was not misplaced.
-
There also seems to be an imaginary cut off point where previous success becomes irrelevant, I'd love to know what year this is as it will help me hugely when deciding if Chelsea, Leeds, Liverpool and Everton are big clubs or tiny ones they had a golden period years ago which now means nothing.
-
Yes and I don't care. HTH.
-
They were massive in the 50s, 60s and 70s too. Had a bad time in the 80s due to hooliganism in no small part and have now recovered. Seriously, some of you lot have no idea what you're on about.
-
Eh? If Leeds winning the title in the 70s means nothing now then why do Liverpools? Chelsea not a big club.
-
They are irrelevant. HTH
-
This is classic mongboardism from young garrett today. Good grief, just when you think you've seen it all on here.
-
So our 76 cup final win means nothing then?
