I actually agree with you on this. Having talent isn't enough in the premier league. it's a completely different game physically, players are much fitter, stronger. There is a reason why not many players dont become first team players until their 20s and it's because like young Sam they aren't physically ready for it yet. You can get away with it more in the championship. You've only got to look at our own club. Dibbing and Shaw are the only two teenage players who really made a break thorough in the last 10 years or so and both of them are already built like men. Dibbing is physically very strong already with an impressive physique and strength, i heard Shaw was bench pressing 120kg when first joined Man United, insane strength for a footballer. Some will point to JWP who made his debut at 17 but he didn't become a first team regular until his early 20s he was in and out of the side until then. Throw them in too early and you're setting them up to fail. If you want to see how strong a premier league footballer needs to be look at my comment on the lack of fitness thread after i listened to a Chelsea academy S&C coach talk about it.
