He'd be a great addition.
-
Who said anything about that? What he's said on several occasions is he wants to strengthen In certain positions and will do this. why say this if you don't? Other than to motivate Dan Seaborne of course.
-
I'm not angry, not at all. It's you resorting to stupid comments and making up quotes.
-
I knew about it 6 weeks before it happened, I posted it on here and then a few days before it happened. Thanks all the same. If Adkins was happy whys is he on record of saying he wants to strengthen? Why are we bidding for players? Why say we will have players in before the Man City game and before the end of the window? Why not just say "we've got an amazing squad, easily good enough for the premier league, I'm happy with everything that is going on. The chairman is brilliant and delivered everything he promised, I'm delighted, ecstatic in fact and all these bids we are making are just to throw other clubs off the scent and motivate Jason Pucheon" Isn't this making up quotes fun.....
-
Maybe it should be, but Adkins clearly doesn't think so and obviously Cortese and the recruitment department whoever that is doesn't otherwise we wouldn't be making bids.
-
So we've bid for Buttner, PHillips and been negotiating with Bologna for over a week for Ramirez to motivate Puncheon and Shaw and to throw other managers off the scent have we?! Go on, make up another quote that tells us that Adkins and Cortese are doing this!
-
Who said what I want? The manager has said what he wants, it doesn't matter what I, you or anyone else wants. If we don't have the money then why bid for the players? £12m for Ramirez, £5-6m for Phillips, French press saying £8m for the defender.
-
Why do you keep going on about that? It's pretty f*cking obvious what positions we want to sign players in. we've been in negotiations for two wingers, almost signed a left back and Adkins has said he wants at least one centre half. Go n, make up another quote!
-
Exactly my point though. If he doesn't bring in the players in the positions they've discussed then he needs to look in the mirror as well.
-
Maybe not but not to even get half Jamie?
-
Okay let's forget about the left back for your argument. Still 6 positions to strengthen in addition to the 4 we've already made.
-
He's making up quotes because I dared to say that if they have agreed on targets and positions to strengthen and it doesn't happens then if we struggle Cortese is partly culpable. That sort of talk isn't welcome on here.
-
Okay, let me it it another way as your making up quotes now as your clearly struggling. So I'll make it easy for you. if a manager and chairman agree on a list of targets and positions that need strengthening and then for whatever reason these positions are not strengthened then faliure is a collective reponsibility or is it all the fault of the manager who has had to make do with what he has?
-
No idea, but they undoubtedly strengthened the squad. Seaborne and a couple of 17 year old on the bench tells you our squad isn't strong enough either.
-
Don't you listen to or read Adkins interviews? He's said on several occasions he wants one if not two CB's and we've been actively chasing wingers and almost signed a left back. Why would we do this if we didn't want or need them? Not difficult is it.
-
Our benchmark that we are always comparing ourselves to, Norwich and Swansea brought in 7 and 8 I believe. If a manager identifies the positions he wants to improve and this is agreed, as it seems to be giving our pursuit of left backs, centre backs and wingers this window then it's not just the manager who has failed is it?
-
Adkins has identified the players and positions he wants to improve, yet this hasn't been done, yet. Maybe Cortese will need to look in the mirror before firing anyone for faliure.
-
This is exactly how I saw it. The manager has identified the positions he wants to recruit it but I find it very strange we are playing a system now designed for players we don't have. Neither of our centre backs are up to it either. People will say its only two games but this team and squad is no where near good enough or strong enough to stay up.
-
Think we got 2 points from our first 9 games that season, we were awful. Can you imagine the melt down on here if we had Jones transfer policy today. Signing the likes of Palmer, Hughes, Ripley, Beresford, Howells and Hirst. Although his finest hour must have been Scott Marshall. Probably the worst centre half ever to play for us. He was the Tommy Forecast of the 90s.

More bewetting FFS. Stop panicking everyone FFS. All you need to thrive in the average premier league where the bottom ten are no better than than the top half of the championship is a good academy and a good manager, we've got both of those and together with our policy of spending less money more cleverly then we are nailed on for a top half finish.
-
What's happened to Davis? Only a few months ago a fair few people on here were adamant that he should have been in the England squad and was better than Rob Green. Now people are question if he's even good enough for the premier league.
-
I must have been seeing things then. It looked to me like they were closed down quickly and every bad touch resulted in losing the ball. I knew I must wrong as we were told in the premier league you get plenty of time and space. Thatshow it works, the defenders are better because they stand off and let people play.
-
This cant be true! We were told during the summer by intellegent posters that some of our players would thrive in the premier league because they will get MORE time on the ball. That is how it works Apparantly, the higher up you go, the more time you get. The intelligent posters were adamant about this.

2 down, 36 left. Well beaten at home by a likely relegation rival. Relying on new signings we havent made to play the formation we have. What's your thoughts?
-
So what are your thoughts? Do you think it's wise to play a system which relys on us signing new players to play in it?
