Read them, then you'll understand.

If only we hadn't signed Andy Carroll on loan for a £2m loan fee. That would have been a thread to talk about.
-
I think you need to read Franks posts (if you can keep awake) regarding children that are smacked responding to fear.

So why are some many people going on about violent abuse on a thread where the OP CLEARLY says he's not talking about full slapping? It seems some people are desperate to link the two when the reality is, as you say yourself, it's only a very small minority of parents that are unable to control themselves. It's an odd link to make.

Can you let me know when you've got me on ignore please. I might ignore everyone except hypo, Dune, Delldays, Sour Mash, TCM, Kracken and CB Fry.

Personally IMO it's a last resort if nothing else works. I don't think there is anything wrong with it in those circumstances and if it isn't the parents lashing out at the kids in anger. My SIL and BIL slap thier daughter on the rare occasion nothing else works and a more loveable, pleasant, polite little girl you could not wish to meet. She as far as you can get away from the unhappy child quaking in fear that certain people on here would have you believe is the case.

The ignore feature is the single greatest invention of all time on mongboards, It is one of my goals in life to be the most ignored poster in Internet mong board history. If anyone has me on ignore please constantly announce it like Sue Whistle and Les Bender do, itll make you feel important and brighten up my day as well.

But this thread isn't about a small proportion of parents who can't control themselves. Most normal people are able to understand the difference between a light slap on the back of the legs to uncontrollable rage and lashing out in anger at a small child. Normal people can control their tempers, especially with small children. I find the obsession that a slight tap on the legs is one step away from violent abuse and Franks suggestion that people who are slapped as children grow up desperate to avenge their parents by hitting them back when they are older rather strange.

He'll definitely be hungry then which is a plus and im sure he'll be passionate, although his damaged leg might mean he doesn't have the pace so many demand. 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
-
Exactly,, the thread is about smacking yet about 5 posters keep going on about abuse. They appear unable to differentiate the two.
-
Scientific research would suggest you are wrong.

What's Callum Davenport up to these days?
-
I don't get it, please explain.

I have already said its disappointing. As we could only muster around the same as 2004/05 despite everything being so Amazing around the club.
-
Wasnt it about 22k as well? when we'd just had 3 successive midtable finishes, the cup final was only a year away and fresh in the memory and there was a real feel good factor around the club, despite us being crap and having no investment or ambition.
-
Why do people keep going on about children being abused when the thread is about disciplining erring children with a light slap? It seems a lot of people are struggling with the difference which is a little worrying.

What MPG do you get out of yours? Ive looked at a few 5 series and they seem a bit thirsty, as I mentioned above I do quite a lot of miles.

I get an allowance every month so I don't pay for it myself as such but I don't want to spend a fortune every month and buy something that's going to have massive depreciation as I do about 30k a year. BMWs, Mercs and Audis seem to be the best bet.
-
If that was true we'd have had 22,500 season ticket holders in league one.
-
And strangely enough all these things had also happened when we sold out against Bolton in 2004. Something you often point to as a reason why we need a bigger stadium, because we managed this with a crap team and no investment. But the facts you list don't seem to apply here now because we've matched that number despite it only being a year after the cup final. Anyway, we've bored people enough, even me, with this before so I'll leave it at that on that subject. However, It's a disappointing number, however you dress it up.

Oh so that's going to be the excuse is it?

Back to back promotions are fresh in the memory. Smashing our transfer record for one of Englands mist promising strikers is fresh in the memory. Signing the best young full back in England is fresh in the memory. People claiming this was the best time in their lives to be a Saints fan is freh in the memory. Talk of the champions league and ground expansions are still ringing in our ears. yet we can't sell more season tickets than when we were crap, had no investment and got relegated.

The price is relatively good. I can't remember what they were in 2005 but I'd guess at around £500 as my season ticket in the Northam first season at SMS in 2001 was £450. £125 increase in 11 years is pretty good, only £11 increase per season. Price isn't the problem by the looks of it.
