  1. err, yes you did. "just shows that shyt players do OK when surrounded by very good ones..." Delap and co seem to be doing very nicely thank you in teams not as good as the ones they played in when they were apparantly so sh*t.
  2. So you are saying that all the players that left us and are now playing at a higher level are now surrounded by world beaters who made them look good? Okay then! Is the Blackpool side containing Crainey and Ormerod better than our cup final side? Or for that matter the current Stoke team which Delap plays in. And your point about Telfer is exactly what i'd expect on here, he is a good player because he was steady. The sort of player every team needs to allow the players with skill to perform. A 6 out of 10 consistant rather than a 9 one week and a 4 the next.
  3. what has that got to do with anything? The fans loved Killer, he wasn't slagged off in the stand and on here left and went onto prove everyone wrong and where is Traore now? Not playing for Man Utd or Barcelona, or Inter Milan,or another current champions league winner. He is playing for Monaco, so his career has quite rightly gone down hill.
  4. Regardless of how he got there he still played at a higher level and Strachan deemed him good enough to sign him 3 times and play for one of the biggest clubs in Europe. Not good enough for us though.
  5. maybe not, but he still played at a higher level after leaving us and was the boo boy of the crowd for a while, underservedly IMO, every team needs a Paul Telfer type player.
  6. lol, worth over a million? He was sh*t only a month ago according to you lot.
  7. the blokes that sat round me didn't and the i would say this board wasn't his biggest fan either.
  8. I am not saying he wasn't the best, but you cant judge one player you "support" and see every week with one you've only seen a handful of times, your view will always be biased. It was like the "Beattie for England" campaign, no way was Beattie an international player, but because he was one of ours many though he was, a biased view. And these people that say we should get shot of Hammond and sign xxxx player, who they may have seen play once and think based on that one game he is the answer to our supposed midfield problems. i am sure if you asked Peterborough fans who saw Hammonds performance again them if they'd sign him they'd bite your hand off. The other point Is quite simple, St Marys obviously isn't the grave yard of promsing careers. In fact i recomend it for any young player with a bit of an ego as they'll all be torn apart and brought back down to earth. what have all the following players got in common? Delap, Blackstock, Higginbotham, Jones, Telfer, Fuller, Stephen Crainey, Ormerod, Kevin Davies, Euell, & Puncheon. Answer, they were all the whipping boys of the crowd and deemed by our fans not good enough for us yet are all playing or played at a higher level after leaving, in Telfers case the champions league. This cant be because all of these players are sh*t, they obviously aren't, but maybe our fans dont know as much as they like to think they do.
  9. Of course you are totally unbiased about Niemi aren't you, what about Fridel, Van Der Saar,Jens Lehman, Paul Robinson? Not bad that season, but we didn't see them every week so difficult to make the bold statement he was the best goalkeeper in the country. Kevin Davies wasn't a "top player" when we signed him the first time, he was a young striker with one years top flight exeperience when he went to Blackburn, second time round the fans were on his back all the time. I remember on here constant posts about how he had been seen out drinking and why was he doing this when he was so sh*t for us. And as for Beattie, well he was never and England player in the first place and i am not saying that in hindsight, i said it at the time I can fully except some players do well at some clubs and not at another, but it cant just be coincidence that so many players slated by the fans on here and on a match day leave and go onto better things and playing at a higher level when we have sunk like a stone. What other club have so many ex players, deemed not good enough by our fans playing in the championship and premier league? It was also under a succession of managers, chairman, coaches etc, they cant all have a Puncheon like attitude problem or all want to move back up north. The only common denominator is the fans.
  10. Leave it out, the fans used to slag Jones off all the time when he was here! Another one whose stock has risen dramatically since he left when fans said he was sh*t when he was here.
  11. lol, Kevin davies has really flopped hasn't he! I guess you missed the fact he recently played for England and has played top flight football ever since he first signed for us in 1997, not bad for a flop that. Beattie hardly flopped at Stoke & Sheff Utd and was recently playing in the champions league for Rangers. Again Niemi was hardly a flop at Fulham was he where he finished his career due to injury. It amuses me all these players that our fans think are sh*t and have left would probably have the makings of at least a midtable championship side and are playing at a higher level and as for your comment about Blackstock i wouldn't mind having a "nothing special" Dexter Blackstock playing up front for us right now.
  12. Best wasn't good enough for us, just like Delap, Blackstock, puncheon, Higgingbotham, Jones, Fuller the list goes on. Yet all these players are playing in leagues above the one we are in. It cant just be conincidence that so many players fail to perform for Saints and then go onto better things. Every player we have has been slagged off this season on here and inside SMS, even when we were winning 4-1 against Huddersfield dinlows were shouting "come on, get a grip" Honestly, some of our fans are complete divs.
  13. Jason lee didnt. it ruined his career he said. LOLz.
  14. I wonder if they said the same on their forum about some of the crazy posts on here.
  15. our support looks more like a mental asylums day out than a bunch of rioters.

when you say early 90's Jamie are you sure? You'd have been about 9 years old. On another note used to have some good nights down at the BIC, went to a couple in the late 90's, also had a good crack at Homelands around the same time.
  17. Jimmy Carr is brilliant, my favourite. As mentioned above, Mcintyre appeals to the tree huggy, mainstream, studently type who no doubt also love Friends and other sh*t american nonsense. Therefore I am not surprised you find him funny.
  18. Stu is someone that could seriously do with some male grooming, starting with Liposuction.
  19. this was in reponse to your question of what did we achieve in top flight. 2nd behind Liverpool who were the best team in the world at that time, 1984.

You are probably best off sticking to Fleet though, from what i remember your type weren't welcome in Pantiles, it was the older more selubrious crowd rather than a 19 year old div in his best Primark clobber.
  21. One day people will get it, maybe, i doubt it though.
  22. 2nd in the League. Tell us about when you did that, tell us about when you played in Europe and the times when you won the FA Cup.
  23. i remember that, and i also remember chringing chants of We hate Tottenham at home to Arsenal and away at Highbury the following two season, prompting a group of Arsenal lads asking me in the Gas Light outside of FInsbury Park station back in 01/02 season just why we hated them so much. The honest answer of we didn't really, it's just because Hoddle left was embarassing.

It sounds amazing, when people want a decent night out they dont do to London, Manchester or birmingham, they go to the 25 stong hardcore clubbers in Jaxx, Fleet. BTW you must live near Pantiles in Bagshot, surely that has got to be the best bet around there, i remember going there years ago when i was working up that way, you'd probably struggle to get in there though, bit of a selective door policy where 19 year old dinlows are generally barred.
  25. outclassed, like the rest of their team bessie mate.
