  1. Thanks for your imput, dumb post.
  2. They tried last season if i remember rightly, but for some reason everyone felt they need to be near the away fans. It's true what was said earlier, i sit in the itchen and you cant hear the northam when a full away end is going for it. Of course the Chapel end wont be the same for the games like Rochdale, but the atmosphere would be dead anyway. I really think the atmosphere would be much improved having a full home end and it would be a return to traditional football. People talk fondly about the old Milton Road end, the Kop, the Stretford end, the North Bank, the Holte end etc, if anyone went to football when these were terraces the noise generated was superb. I went to Highbury and Villa Park as a kid and they looked and sounded really impressive. The Kop at Anfield still does even though it always has to be accompanied by the commentators crowing that it's "another one of those great European nights at Anfield"
  3. Just posted something about this on another thread. I remember the club wanted to do this but why was everyone against it? Why did everyone think the "singing area" needed to be near the away fans. People are moaning that they are going to lose the northam for big cup games liek Man U and it'll be spread out and some part timers will be in the Kingsland areas moaning at the noise, dilituing the atmosphere. This would never happen if the whole area was in the Chapel. I think it woul be brilliant having a whole end of 6-7k singing, you certainly wouldn't get the diliuted noise you get at SMS these days with parts of the ground singing different songs or the same one a bit behind the northam. Remember how impressive the northam looked when we had pretty much the whole end for JPT game against MK Dons? That was one of the best atmospheres i've seen at SMS, it could be like that a lot more. What is everyones thoughts?
  4. THis is why i dont understand why everyone was so against the idea of turning the Chapel into a "Kop". You'd never be moved, everyone in one place and over time more and more would join.
  5. Good lad. I had 3 emails from Man Utd "fans" who never go to games asking if i can get them a ticket, also a couple of Saints. They got the same response. If i can get a spare ticket i wouldn't give it to them anyway as i wouldn't let a plastic Manc/Saints c*nt since next to me.
  6. I am glad you are a "farawaysaint" then.
  7.:lol::lol::lol: Quality, i can imagine your delight at that mate!
  8. Kids maybe, but not grown men in their 30's and 40's, that is just embarassing. Seen it many time at saints, home and away.
  9. I've been to Elland Road quite a few times as got family up there who are leeds, heard that a few times. I wouldn't worry though, it's got more than 4 words to it so our fans will struggle, plus any words will be clapped over and sung at 1,000,000 mph so they wont be able to make it out anyway.
  10. Believe me fella, i wish our away support was as good as theirs. You lot look and learn on the 29th. No wigs, face paints and jester hats, proper fans, making a lot of noise and singing decent, inventive songs.
  11. I went along to the 2008 chairty shield when they beat the Skates on pens, went with some Utd fans in their end. Found their fans sound as, good lads, some good songs and a lot of proper fans there. Not like a lot of the flakey, studenty and middle clas mongtards we get at a lot of away games, singing every song at 10000000 mph. Also their flags and banners are quality, best one was red, white and black horizontal stripes, a Man Utd badge in middle and the James lyric "If i hadn't see such riches i could live with being poor" written around it. Class. United have the best away support in the country IMO.
  12. It's called banter, a bit like Alps saying he over estimated my reading ability. Something i was deeply offended by.
  13. In the one game he has played this season he has kept a clean sheet. So yes he has 100% clean record. We should keep Fonte out as well as the Martin/Seaborne centre half pairing has a 100% clean sheet record as well.
  14. You are right about that, he is meant to be a bellend, rumour has it of course. I really dont know and cant comment, although Beattie was an utter c*ck and the unity amoungst the squad was good then. I guess it depends on the management being strong enough with him to not let his ego get him ahead of himself. End of the day he is a young lad who 18 months ago was earning £500 a week laying bricks, i am sure a good man manager will be able to sort him out, all IMO of course.
  15. I haven't appointed myself anything, asked you a couple of simple questions which you failed to answer. http://www.footballforums.net/forums/forumdisplay.php/62-League-One is a good site to research good L1 one players on, run along onto there, do some research get some names and come back when you can tell us who we need to strengthen with. There are lots of people on there who can tell you what to think.
  16. Do we need to strengthen or not? I cant decide now if you think we do or not.
  17. we need to strengthen, i dont know where, with who or why, but we need to strengthen. Fact. Ffs.
  18. Yep, course i am, like i said, it's not you it's everyone else.
  19. No of course there isn't, there wouldn't be, its not you, it's everyone else
  20. Two reasonable and non confrontational, non arrogant and non aggressive posts from ex pats, they didn't even say everyone else was talking b*llocks, Sweden Dave even goes as far as saying what type players we need, you see Alps it can be done without taking the skin off your chubby fingers tips due to such quick and angry typing. As i said as above Dave, in an ideal world i'd luck us to keep everyone, a motivated Puncheon will be like having a new player anyway if he wants to stay, if not then that area needs to be looked at. And i'd like us to sign a Charlie Austin standard striker, young, motivated but with a decent record who will get goals, Austin or Jordan Rhodes tick all the boxes on that score. People have mentioned Adam Le Fondre and on paper he looks good but I've never seen him play other than goal highlights so cant comment, i wouldn't be a hyprocrite and say someone i had never seen play was the answer to everything and will guarentee promotion.
  21. Apparantly Palace have made him an improved offer, a Charlton fan i know has told me just now. He is gutted, they really want him.
  22. So to sum this thread up then.... Alpine thinks we need new signings for promotion as the squad needs strengthening, however he cant say how he knows it does, why or where we need to strengthen or with which players, we just need to strengthen. He has never seen the current Saints team or any of our players play, so forms his opinons based on what he reads on internet forums and sites. Despite 95% of the people posting on this thread, most of them having see the team play, agreeing that new signings are nice to have rather than essential for promtion, a forum from which Alpine must surely use to form his opinion, he still insists that they are essential, although he cant confirm why, unless it's because someone MIGHT get injured. Despite insisting we need new players to make sure promotion is "nailed on" He cant make up his mind if we should sign new players ready for next season now, if we buy them now if we giving them time to settle in might upset our promotion bid, however what if someone gets injured and we haven't signed anyone? According to Alps that will ruin our promotion bid as well By the way you are all talking b*llocks and he right. Have i missed anything?
  23. You are contradicting yourself now Alps, give it up, you are looking really foolish.
  24. I take it the irony of your post is lost on you.
