Turns out he was far off the mark.

We wont get there the season after next, very few teams achieve back to back promotions. We need to get out of this league first then worry about the championship, clubs of similar and bigger size than us plus 3 relegated teams coming down every season with all the parachute payments will make it a massive job to get to the Premier league. Given the form of the players this season none of them are top half Championship players.
