Why does this matter? he is a big boy and i am sure he is capable of moving away from home for £10k a week. It'll come down to who he thinks is the best club and offers him the best deal.
-
It is no surprise that his best performances for us this and last season (apart from his first few games) came away from home. Isn't Adkins a psychology graduate or something? If anyone can sort out JP it is him.

If you really think we don't need to buy...

Which is exactly my point. We need players good enough to go straight into the first team and fight for a place and be used in a rotation system. A lot seem to bang on about cover players incase of injuries, suspensions etc. ONes to sit on the bench collecting a wage, i dont know what sort of player people think will join a league one club to do that but they sure as well wont be better than Martin, Buttefield, Connolly, Gobern etc. Chaplow is a classic example of a player coming here to inprove the standard of the squad and first XI. My line of thining is to have a squad of 22-24 good players and I've said numerous times that players better than we have are welcome, if we can sign Charlie Austin and Ryan Harley, brilliant, they would improve the first 11 and the standard of the squad, but signing "cover"or "squad" players, which will undoubtedly be worse or at best no better than what we have to sit around in case of injuries is not the answer. You end up with a massive squad full of average, unmotivated players and we all know where that has got us before. -

It is a case of getting the balance right, as i've said many many times, a couple of top quality additions would be more than welcome, but signing players no better than what we have and in reality likely to be worse just to act as cover is pointless. What sort of player is going to come here as "cover" for Lallanas injury for example? knowing they'll play for 6 weeks then might not play again this season? What we need are good players which enable us to change formations and systems to suit the match, opposition and conditions. People are slating Gobern, he is our 4th choice central midfielder, is a better player going to join us knowing they will hardly kick a ball for the rest of the season? In fact if someone is happy to come here and sit on the bench you have to question if you'd want them as part of your squad in the first place. There is a big difference between being a good player used as part of a squad and a player being signed as back up to the first team. -
I wouldnt be at all surprised, Howe is a big fan and i can see him going there.
-
It isn't, we missed four good chances and had one cleared off the line, quite how the stats say 0 shots on target is strange when we had one off the line which the players and half the crowd thought went over it.

I agree, the ideal model for the five year plan to get back to the premier league, which has 3.5 years left, is to have a squad of 40 players, a league one level squad full of back up players on 3-4 year contracts, all drawng £5k-£7k a week but not good enough to play at championship level, in fact most of them will hardly play anyway as they will only be back up or cover players incase of injuries or suspensions to our first XI. THis is much better plan than than 22-24 good players, good enough to play in the championship and above on £7-10k a week. I've seen this model somewhere before and it worked brilliantly, that team got relegated twice in four years and went into admistration, i think we should do it again. -

Notts County won away at Sunderland in the FAC cup two weeks ago, they are no mugs. As you say, maybe they played above themselves and we were definitely below par. That said though we still missed 3 or 4 good chances and should have won. We wont win every game FFS. -

Connolly isn't injured is he? He has been on the bench a fair bit lately. -
mine has started to have a fault where on songs sometimes it'll pause for about 1 second or so then start again, on one song it does it at exactly 1 min 22 secs in, i played the song five times in a row to check it and it stopped at the same point every time, then started again after about a second. Anyone suggest what the problem is or where i can get it fixed?

Lazy, fat, too slow, over rated, if MLT played these days in the internet generation he'd be slagged off every week. People forget he wasn't brilliant for 90 minutes week in week out which you need to be to be accepted on here.

Okay then so past form isn't a good rule of thumb to base the future on? So obviously with Man Utd being top and unbeaten in the Premier league this season it would be ridiculous to suggest they might win the league because West Ham might go on and win every game for the rest of the season and pip them to the title. Under NA we have won 14 and drawn 4 of our 21 games, in this time we have had injuries and suspensions to key players and we will again. Given his record so far i completely have faith in him to keep this record going. -

everyone knows he will be/has been missed, no one will despute this, but we are not a one man team. We are lucky to have Lallana in our current position, he should be playing in the Championship at least and is head and shoulders the best player in this league. But other teams manage to score goals without the best player in the league, why should be be any different? I trust NA to come up with a play to get the best out of the players playing without him, he got S****horpe promoted twice with a team worse than we have and without a player of Lallanas ability. -
or maybe she doesn't love you and your cock doesn't touch the sides anymore now she is getting it up the arse from someone else?
-
LOL, Blendelis, nicknamed two hearts. His sole contribution was to come on as a half time sub when we were 3-0 up at half time, not touch the ball in the whole of the second half and help us lose 4-3 away at Tranmere in the FA Cup. Remember Kleber Chala? Did he every play?!
-
Absolutely agree, people slagged him off when he was here but badly missed when injured, a very good player who wasn't appreciated until he was gone.
-
Yep he did, he said he was an attacking player and had never played left back before. Decent player and underrated. Paul Telfer Paul Rideout David Prutton Matt Oakley

Just as well Lambert doesn't rely on pace to be effective then isn't it! 3 goals in 5 games, and by all accounts Superb at Oldham and very good against Huddersfield and Exter. So you think we should get rid of Lambert then? and replace him with whom? So let me get this straight, no one on the saints team was winning the ball against Notts County? So by this then we should have been under non stop pressure because we had no one capable of winning the ball at all? Maybe now people are finally starting to appreciate the job Hammond does now he is not there. Lol at you comment about people working Jaidi out, he has played in England for Bolton, birmingham and now Saints for around 8 years, he has played in league one for 18 months now, dont you think this is ample time to suss him out and and exploit this supposed weakness? Or is it more of a case that as an experienced international player and ex premier league player he has a good football brain and positional sense meaning his is more than a match for most L1 strikers, believe it or not not every player needs to be as quick as Usain Bolt. And Notts County could have scored if they'd been more ambitious! LOL!!!!! The same could be said for any team in any game! Any team CAN score, if they do or not it's a different matter, one goal against in five games is a superb record, even more so considering we've got a a centre half who your granny could run rings round! CAll me optimistic but five wins and a draw in our last 6 one goal against in five and 19 goals in our last 5 matches, (yes thats right, just short of an average of 4 a game) doesn;t suggest a slump is round the corner. Clearly i am mistaken though and it must mean this side is flawed for all to see. -

one of the greatest ever threads on this forum had people on it claiming we can sign anyone we want and are the best club to join outside of the champions league teams and should offer the players we want so much money they cannot say no. I dont know how big a squad people think we need or how many player we need but one look at our squad says we have approximately two decent players, by league one standards for every position, of course players will get injured, suspended etc, thats the nature of the game but people are obsessing and panicing that we need to buy this, that and the other or we are going to go on a massive slump, it's just crazy! -
I'd love him back, excellent player at this and Champrionship level and would improve the squad and the first team.

Here you go again, highlighting little bits. Last week i said a couple more players better than what we have would be welcome and this week i've said a couple of players better than what we have would be welcome, not signing a Lowe style "one for the squad" what is different about that? -

to answer your questions, 1/ i take it you are judging him just on the 0-0 draw at not his superb performance against Oldham? Or his improved performances over the last couple of months, or his 3 goals in the last 5 games. 2/ Lack of trying to win the ball back? LOL! So the players weren't trying were they?! Gobern is our FOURTH choice CM player, Chaplow and Hammond will be back soon, how many Central midfield players do you expect us to have?! 3/ Jaidi, who your granny could run rings round apparantly, is part of a back four which has conceded ONE goal on five games and only 4 in the last 10. So unless you granny is on Back to the Future style hover board i suggest you have a rethink. Massive slump, lol! based on what? One 0-0 draw at home? Did you think we were heading for a massive slump after winning 6-0 at Oldham? -

If no one leaves we dont have a problem, you say Lambert wont score 30 goals this season, probably not, but last season he scored half our goals, this season Barnard, Gully, AOC and are all weighing in more, even Chaplow has scored 3 (i think) in the time he has been here, i dont think a central midfielder scored many last season. OUr squad is good enough, provided no one leaves, obviously then we will need to look at it. How many teams in this league can bring in a player like Puncheon when a midfielder is injured? As i have already said if we can get in a couple of quality players for this league to improve on what is here, a Charlie Austin for example then brilliant, but i dont think just buying squad players to make up numbers is the answer. -
Unlikely,do the maths, 12.5k tickets sold to STH's, c4.5k for Man U inc segregation, leaves c15k tickets left for everyone else, if they sell that many today i'd be amazed purley due to logistics of it. I am sure there will still be some left on thursday, Pompey didn't sell out for 3 or 4 days and that was a much bigger game.
