  1. Something something great to be part of a cause that’s bigger than ourselves, something something scar tissue, something something good game but we have a responsibility to the community
  2. I think it’s fantastic even if Leeds beat us 10-0 we are the real winners Saturday.
  3. I can see it now 9 zeros night A dinner evening meeting saints premier league record breaking team. A never to be repeated evening with a team that made premier league history
  4. https://www.southamptonfc.com/en/the-great-escape-a-reunion-with-the-saviours-of-99 Jesus wept talk about celebrating mediocrity, this is on a whole new level. Let’s celebrate that time we stayed up when we were ever shitter than usual. This club 🤣🤣🤣🤦🤦🤦
  5. How much did we end up paying for Martins compensation? We paid about £3m for Jones IIRC then is cost another £5m to get rid of him. You'd have thought we'd have learnt.
  6. FFS Salford is Man United territory - we're going to be Moss side on Sea
  7. Well, when he said contest the next general election it's a bit like Maidstone will contest the FA Cup this season, but have got as much chance of winning it as Romney Marsh U7s. All he is known for as being an actor and a gobshite, lets not make out he is a "serious person"
  8. I think you'll find the poor run of results started when the CoT stopped giving hints from the dressing room, just as the transfer window slammed shut. Make of that what you will
  9. You underestimate Rasmus. He must have something about him to convince a billionaire there is some substance behind the shit he spouts. Maybe he's like that film Limitless, where every so often he takes a magic pill he is a genius, when it wears off the rest of the time he is an absolute waster. Come to think of it there is a resemblence
  10. We'll be rebuilding next season too. Adams out of contract, Frazer, Downes, Hardwood-Bellis, (and Holgate) to return to their parent clubs, we'll probably sell two or three others like Sully, KWP, so we will be 6-7 of our matchday squad down from this season, plus the scar tissue of not getting promoted this season.
  11. "You're just a shit Terry Cooper" on saturday?
  12. this. Cheers Les
  13. wake up, it's all on Eric Black
  14. I just read on another forum that if we lose to Leeds on saturday we will have a lower points total after 9 games than we have in the 2008/09 season. Checked it and it's true, we had 11 after 9 games. We have 10 after 8 now. The season we got relegated in 23rd place. We were we were skint, had to rely on playing a team of kids, not because it was some grand plan to be the Man City of the south but it was because it was all we could afford. The year we signed Tommy Forecast, Anthony Pulis and our star signing was the "world class" Ryan Smith. We had Portleviet in charge or the Dutch clown as he became known. lose on saturday this team will have made a worse start. 🤣
  15. If nobody saw it it was worth a watch, called "an absolute buffoon" by the DS then got questioned by the guys as to why he thought it was okay for him to break his own laws. 👏
  16. it isn't "this country" it's one gobshite on a station and a newspaper that gives gobshites a mouthpiece. If you go looking for things to be angry about you can easily find them. Like if you go looking for things that are positive then you can easily find them. 17. I will always have a lot of respect from Nick as he did a lot for the club in the 90s and 00s. He hated Cortese with good reason, for both club and personal reasons which I won’t go into. During our run back to the premier league which for many fans was a great period he barely had a good word to say. I know it was clouded by some other issues but even then what was a great time there was nothing but negativity. There were some rather strange articles about on TUI, I remember a game in the championship where we were flying at the top of the table, playing some great stuff and had just won a home game easily scoring 4 goals and all he did was criticise the club for the lack of advertising board sales around the pitch. Now when we’re are shit and have been shit for years the mantra is completely flipped. The club are doing their best, the fans need to stop moaning, like you say almost like a mouth piece for the club. I hope it’s not click bate but I can’t think of any other reason to express such polar opposite views to what is actually going on.
  18. No I don’t. I think Puel should have got longer. Hassenhuttl it had come to a natural end the close of the season before he left, no one hounded him out. The rest were crap and deserved the sack. martin needs to sort it out sharpish before he goes the same way. He got a squad which should be challenging for the title but we’ve lost more games in the last 4 than Burnley lost all last season, have the worst defensive record in the league and have been fairly fortunate in the points we have got. The bigger picture is we’ve had more managers than home wins the last 12 months, we’ve probably got one of the worst home records in Europe over the last 5 years. It’s no wonder the fans are pissed off, we’ve every right to be
  19. Illingworth speaks on behalf of all saints fans as he thinks we are https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/news/60936/will-russell-martin-be-the-7th-manager-in-a-row-hounded-out-of-southampton
  20. My sources tell me SAS who dares wins is going to be excellent viewing for those who are Matt Hancock fans 😉
  21. hasnt it been pleasant on here the last week or so......
  22. of course it is, Wankersen only breaks things that arent broken.
  23. Or more likely he'll start alright then go to shit like the rest of the team.
  24. There has been a lack of leadership on the pitch for years. People took the piss out of Duckhunter but he was right, a team of nice lads but none of them could grab the game by the scruff of the neck and turn it round. For years we've had teams who completely melt when the going gets tough. We're the team you want to play when you're out of form, either as a team or player because you know we wouldnt give you a hard time. Romeu had a bit of devil on him, other than that i'm struggling to think of a player we've had who the other team wouldn't want to face since Van Dijk and Fonte left. How hard can it be to find a couple of experienced players, in their early 30s who could give us a couple of years and help these young lads along with experience, leadership and game management? It really is incredible that year after year the club have ignored such obvious flaws in the squad and instead been obsessed with future resale value when we need a few players who can do a job now.
  25. agree with pretty much all that. We have good players, Harwood-Bellis is raved about, West Ham fans love Flynn Downes, Manning people were saying he could play in the premier league when he joined and so on. But we are so soft, predictable and easy to play against. Boro are awful yet we were lucky not to lose by more against them, Martins excuse that we lost our confidence when we scored is quite frankly ridiculous. Like going ahead is a negative thing!!
