  1. True that, watching the Crystal Palace one about cage football, nothing new there. We used to play in a car park or a piece of wasteland when we were juniors, when the older kids from Bitterne Park and St George’s came past on their way home theyd sometimes join in, we were 9,10,11 playing against 13,14 year olds, you’d get battered but it toughed you up. As a result of that I sometimes turned out for my brothers team at 14, 15 playing against adults then regularly at 16 playing hants league level. I do remember when I got older despite our junior school football team being pretty dominant and having some good players no one got picked up, it was kids from the more affluent areas that I guess could afford to ferry their kids round to football schools and send them to camps. Something none of us could do. Maybe it’s changed now but I remember seeing other kids with some paid for summer football camps and getting trials at saints and Pompey and I’d never even heard of any of them despite being a good player in my younger days
  2. Poor first touch gives time for Gomez to catch him and clear…
  3. Im glad you are so interested in me then 😀
  4. I like him. Comes over well, seems to a decent fella, realistic and down to earth.
  5. you obviously didnt read any of the shit he came out with during the BLM protests.
  6. The difference is Sog does think it helps. Who could forget him congratulating himself on “speaking out against racism” because he posted about it on here. Frigging hilarious stuff
  7. Is this what it’s all about Sog? You’re relentless bleating on here is part of your big plan to convince a few people on a football forum to vote the same way as you do🤣🤣🤣🤣
  8. Is he going to solve all those problems by relentlessly moaning about it on a football forum then?
  9. That's how it works though, right? Start off small, then as you have more equity and wage increases upgrade. There is something in the sense of entitlement some people have that they should have the nice house, car, holidays and lifestyle straight away, they deserve to have it all and social media has to take a lot of the blame for that with people in their teens and twenties only seeing their peers lives highlights reel, thinking everyone else has all that but them. It's created a culture of people constantly comparing their lives to everyone elses often with the view that theirs is inferior because all they see are the best bits of everyone elses.
  10. fixed it for you
  11. Wales is in our catchment area
  12. Actually you make a good point there. Maybe the poorer kids from Southampton can’t get to staplewood and it’s easier to get to somewhere in London. I know as a kid my parents wouldn’t have been in a position to get me there from townhill park. Surely the club wouldn’t miss out on potential talent these days due to logistical issues. It was just noticeable how generally the kids so far in the series have all been from relatively wealthy homes.
  13. I may be wrong but I thought it was Lee Bradbury. wait until to see see the Pompey fan whose daughter is at saints. How many times can he slip in he’s a Pompey fan 🙄
  14. The one with the kid that had Lukemia is a nice story, must be awful to go through that at such a young age and seemed a really nice kid. One thing that struck me was how all the kids i've seen so far come from relatively wealthy families, compared to the Crystal Palace one where most of the kids on it were from rough parts of London and a lot of single parent families.
  15. I;d have had Toney or Abraham ahead of Rashford.I just dont rate Rashford at all, if he didnt play for Man United and do a lot of good work for charity he wouldn't be anywhere near the squad.
  16. Is that the kid that's small. He looked a good player if so. I really liked those twin girls, brilliant attitude on them.
  17. Is any of this in your circle of influence Sog?
  18. Watched a few of these. It's good although the presenter is quite annoying, is it Alan Carr? It's great seeing kids playing football.
  19. oh come on MLG, he started exactly the same thread a few weeks ago which got locked so what does he do? Start another one. all this stuff has been done to death all over this forum, He's either very thick or loves the attention, i'm minded to think it's both actually.
  20. Correct sir.
  21. I'm really not sure how whinging about it by starting yet another thread on a Southampton football forum is going to fix the issue of building on Folkstone race course.
  22. You seem surprised.
  23. New manager bounce, 3-1 win for saints.
