Why does no-one ever talk about Colin Clarke?
Turkish replied to Midfield_General's topic in The Saints
He was my favourite player at the time. Following on from Steve Moran. I remember the day he signed clearly. it was front page of the echo as that sort of money was a big deal at the time. I was 9 and my dad worked for the echo office I was playing out the front when he came home from work and he walked down the garden and showed me the front page, He’d had a decent World Cup with Northern Ireland, think he scored twice in 3 games? thought he was brilliant after that and desperate for him to join so over the moon when he did. hatrick on his debut at home to QPR in a 5-1 win in the days when we used to start the season well. Was at the Man City game when he scored a great goal, cutting in from the left beating a couple of players and smashing it past the keeper Two good seasons, got an injury in the second then he started agitating for a move to a bigger club. Ended up going to QPR FFS Probably forgotten because most people who post on here won’t remember him, he was only here for two seasons and despite wanting a bigger club he left for one the same size and never really did much the rest of his career. Ended up down the road playing for the vermin. -
Did you copy and paste that from the guardian?
-
As I’ve already asked you and you’ve ignored by highlighting the issue, which seems to be all its doing in your view, does that mean no one was aware of racism before?
-
How can this be? We were told this was just a rumour in the express as Spurs aren’t spending.
-
Can’t remember. He definitely had something though. Puel got the best out of him, he was in fire until he got that injury. we didn’t use him properly but that’s no surprise given the clowns we had in charge.
-
Didn’t we have to sell him to buy someone else in Ralph’s early days? With Ings, Austin and Long at the time I guess he thought we we had enough up front to let him go.
-
Ross Barkley available on loan with Chelsea prepared to cover 50% of his wage. Get it done.
-
Indeed. We’ve done pretty well out of Celtic as it’s a well trodden path you’d like to think that gives us the upper have v Brighton. I’m far from convinced we can and will spend what’s required to get him though.
-
They’re highlighting the issue. Your words. So are they shining a light on something that no one was aware of?
-
You know I was thinking the other day Gabbiadini is perfect for Ralph’s system. Hard working, great clever movement, good finisher would be perfect running the space behind Adams.
-
Oh great, a player who once gets a sniff of a better off throws the towel in. We’ve not had our fingers burnt this way before…
-
So before they took the knee no one knew there was racism?
-
But as you said above “taking the knee won’t solve anything” you must agree it’s pretty pointless.
-
I would pretty much guarantee that hardly anyone on here has booed taking the knee, but quite a few don’t agree with it. Yet you’re banging on about how the racists have outed themselves. So that’s not true is it.

5th august. Ings is a wanker he didn’t say goodbye 6th August what the fuck is that? Ings said goodbye but not good enough he should have said more. like you say, get over it. Idiots thinking he loved the club and the fans and owed us. None of them give a shit it’s a job.

The sooner we’re back in the championship the better, fuck the premier league.

I would question why someone so desperate to appear not racist would chose to live in a small town with virtually no none white people. I notice he refused to answer my question a few weeks ago about despite banging on about racism and BLM for the last year telling everyone what they should be doing when was the last time he actually saw a none white person in real life. Given he lives in a 98.5% white village and due to Covid has hardly left it in 18 months
-
He lives in another world. Desperate to appear to being doing the right thing, much like the other issue he is quite vocal about, protests a bit too much.
-
No one is trying to convince you of anything mate, other than aintfrover and soggy who seem to think the whole world is racist.
-
Exactly. Of course we discussed the US and London riots and BLM stuff but interestingly my friend says that the most racism they get these days are from middle class people being quite patronising to them rather anyone calling them black cunts in pubs which is want people would have you believe.
-
I’m always amused how despite two of my best mates being black, with one who is like a brother to me, I’m like another son/brother to his family and he is to mine, yet apparently I’m a racist far right and pull out the “I’ve got a black mate” line, yeah because all far right racists spend their weekends and holidays with black people.
-
He’s does the same with me. And yes he’s droning on about the far right people on this forum and how people are standing up to them. Also having s go at white people thinking they know more about racism than BAME which is strange as its something he bangs in about all the time, he knows about racism as he lives in a small village with a 98.5% white population. Quite tragic he’s pretending to have us on ignore though.
-
Exactly. More bollocks and even more bollocks from Soggy. “This place used to be a haven for a lot of far right wing apologists but it is good to see more and more posters getting fed up with them and calling them out.“ what utter bullshit in yet another pious post. The way he goes on he knows more about racism than anyone!
-
So if some say they’ve experienced racism but some say they haven’t then it suggests that the systemic racism that is rife everywhere isn’t actually the case.
