We are special but not in the way the club think. Even if we go on a decent run now we will still most likely go down as one of the worst premier league teams ever, almost certainly the worst Saints team ever as we need a point a game to match our the "performance" of the 2022/23 relegation.

It's ironic that in the period where we have spent the most money without having to fund signings by sales we've wasted most of it and got relegated twice. You're right it is about how it spent and boy have we spent it badly not just now but over the past few years. £100m+ in the last few years on strikers no where near premier league level. In the past we've done the same thing at centre back signing Hoedt, Vestergaard, Gardos, Salisu, ABK, Bendarek and given Captain Jack far more games than he should have got in the search for the new Van Dijk or Fonte, none of them have worked for various reasons when we could have signed a good solid, premier league defender like Evans or Dawson less than £5m, not sexy but would have done a much better job than all of them.

it seems to be the link to the mainboard as you can click on the actual thread and work its when you want to go from the front page into the mainboard. All the other boards seem to work okay
-
i keep getting this when on the main board, doesn't happen on the lounge or any others. Anyone know how to fix it?
-
hopefully he can help relegate the Skates and also get 6 months in the championship ready for next season

As we move out of the first quarter of the millennium I’d just like to wish you all a happy new year and look forward to another year of being preached too, posting links from guardian and hating everyone and everything id also like to remind you of one of the greatest threads that ever existed, posted on New Year’s Day at around 2am many years ago happy new year Saints fans

The truly dreadful Bridge of lies currently on. If anything was an incentive not to pay your licence fee it's this.

Me too, you could have formed a concept or mental image of how much we could spend with a 45k stadium but instead chose to be a bellend banging on about word which form questions. Given we've systematically destroyed your plans for how we can expand as being based on little more than hope and magic money trees this is all you are left with. Happy new year MLG, it was a pleasure destroying you again, it's been too long.
-
Incapable of forming a mental image or concept then? Why am i not surprised Rain Man,
-
Imagine - form a mental image or concept of. Imagine how much we could spend if we had a 45k stadium ergo - form a mental image or concept of how much we could spend if we had a 45k stadium.
-
How much could we spend if we had a 45k stadium given Chelsea have a 40k one and can spend £1b in 3 years.
-
that doesn't answer my question
-
Chelseas stadium is only 7,000 larger than ours and they've spent nearly £1b on players in the last 3 years. Imagine how much we could spend if we had a 45k stadium. Come on Dragon, get your mastercard out, whack those seats on.
-
So your plan for paying for it is to expect the owner to write out a cheque to cover it. also we don’t have to give away fans 3k, we can give them 1.7k as well so the empty seats in the championship aren’t down to the away fans. Relying on them to fill our stadium is also barmy. yes I agree a long term strategy is needed. But it shouldn’t include expecting the owner to cover the cost or being uncertain if we can actually sell the seats in the short and long term, it’s seems your long term plan is simply based on hope and entitlement.
-
You keep banging on about this but also missing the point that if we dont come straight back up we will have a debt of £40m+ for seats we dont need and cant sell.
-
"Only one more day to get through i can stop drinking." WTF? cock.
-
People seem to forget that although you earn more money from more seats it also costs money to put them there. We've had this discussion over and over again during the years and people scream, "expand expand expand" without realising it'll also give us a debt of at least £40m when we already have significant debt. If we sold out every week it would still take a good few years to actually see any profit from them. The only way it would be viable is if we knew we could sell the seats for a good few years, ie a waiting list for season tickets running into the thousands. Also no relegation on the horizon, no point spunking 10s of millions now so fans can boast about the size of the stadium when we wont sell out every week in the championship.
-
Lowe said it cost £1000 per seat to build St Mary’s and £3000 per seat to expand it. This was obviously many years ago but even using those numbers it would cost more to expand to 45,000 than it cost to build it in the first place.

TBF the CVs of the leaders stack up quite well. Dragon a billionaire, Rasmus has been a director at Brentford who did well whilst he was there (seems to be in-spite of not because of though) and also part time chairman of Midtjylland where they are in the most successful period ever. Kraft is meant to be worth £2b himself and an investor. BTW Kraft seems to be escaping a lot of the flack with most of it directed towards Rasmus. Kraft is chairman of Saints with Phil Parsons as CEO. It seems Rasmus is the president of Goztepe whereas Kraft and Parsons are more involved in Saints.

does he exist? Last time i saw him he looked like a kid whose dad had let him join in a game with his mates

Depends who was in charge. If it was Labour loads on here would think it was a lovely gesture from the caring party who really do want to make the country better. If it was the evil, nasty, lying Tories then it'd be a terrible idea from those who just want to get more tax off us to give control us with their propaganda, whilst giving large contracts to their mates to run it.
-
Lets hope so, they'll be shit as us before long!

cool it with the lesaphobia.
