  1. Let’s hope not
  2. I look forward to him being written off on here around 5 years from now!
  3. Lol the saints voice, pathetic bunch of arse licking dins. The sort of people that wanted to be head boy at school.
  4. Shanghai Leisure Holdings
  5. LOL, top banta Ron.
  6. Surely it'll be more about when we can have Carling on tap, why are pies are so hot, and the LGBT representative will ask when we are going to introduce gender fluid training tops.
  7. As a player any worse than what we've got? Probably better. He's meant to be a massive bellend though so can see why hes not wanted around.
  8. Maybe the moderator also understands that discussion the clubs previous performance during transfer windows is very relevant to transfer window threads. Just because you and a few don't like it and want lots of copy and pastes from twitter such as @luigidelrosso I understand Southampton have enquired about koulibaly and everyone beating themselves off about it being a real statement of intent/not true/unlikely it doesn't make any of what has been said irrelevant.
  9. It isn't off topic, read it properly, it's talking about past transfer windows and how the club have linked lots of names but then failed to sign any of them. So what's your view of the past 3-4 January transfer windows? Because it seems a lot of people are, rightly, looking at our historical performance over a period of several years to base what 2020's performance is likely to be.
  10. Incorrect, it's a transfer window thread. Not a thread with people posting links to stories and everyone replying thanks. There isn't much news and it's a discussion about how the club conducts itself in the media in relation to transfers, so very relevant to a transfer window thread.
  11. The one that I find most concerning is the talk over a year ago of a full review of our internal structure after Les Reed went and talk of splitting his role. We changed the manager, results improved and nothing happened. No one came in, if there was a restructure it was to give Ross Wilson more power, it was only when Wilson left that we were forced into action, I don't think Crocker has started yet so we have no one in any senior position at the club with any clue about football. it kind of suggests that Goa Is happy just to stay in the league doing the minimum possible to do so.
  12. I find it bizarre that some people keep banging on about how terrible it is that people are discussing things that aren't news on here. A forum is for discussion, there has been a very interesting discussion going on about how the club handle the press during transfer windows. If you just want news there are plenty of news sites you can look at, newsnow is the main one. Also there isn't any news.
  13. Yes that's right, something along the lines of, if you excluded games he didn't start, games where he didn't get subbed off, games against teams outside of the top 4 in the country he was playing, games where he came on as a sub for more than 20 minutes, then he averages a goal every 245 minutes! What makes it even stranger is that Kruger said later they had thought about sacking Pellegrino several times but then results improved. So much for our much self lauded long term planning then if the managers job is decided on a win at a championship club in the FA Cup or against the team bottom of the league and then a record transfer fee is sanctioned with the managers job not just under threat, but he was actually sacked just over a month after the signing was made. It beggars belief.
  14. According to the telegraph articles we also just missed out on Maddison, McGuire, Promes too, all players that would have Improved the side dramatically, instead we ended up with a load of dross we can’t give away.
  15. The Quincey Promes story was a classic. Name was leaked for weeks supposedly his club said from day one he wasn’t for sale in January, we made a bid well below their asking price, because the obvious way to get someone to part with something they don’t want is to offer less than the minimum they’d take, then we claimed we’d sign him in the summer instead. Of course we didn’t and it all went quiet. So not a lie but obviously this was deal that was never going to happen but was leaked as a statement as to our ambition.
  16. there is a discussion going on about if and why the club leak names Of target fake or not to the fans via the media, which is very relevant to the transfer window and what a forum is for. If you just want news why don’t you go to news now?
  17. Well the article from Dec 2017 worked spectacularly then didn't it. We were linked with proven premier league players in all outfield positions and we managed to throw everyone off the sent as we snapped up Monacos fourth choice striker for a bargain £20m right at the end of the window.
  18. Appeasement. Quite simply. After a bit of bad news a good news story appears. Every. single. Time.
  19. Funny you should mention that it’s almost exactly two years since they were due.
  20. No idea what they’d gain from it, seems pretty stupid to me. However it’s always but he same source and it’s awfully convenient how shortly after some bad news a good news story appears in the telegraph. After the 9-0 Leicester loss there was another article saying about how we would be bringing in at least two new member of staff to replace Wilson and making a few signings in January.
  21. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/12/28/southampton-keen-daniel-sturridge-ready-make-audacious-move/ Wilson, one of the clubs favoured journalists, did this piece, a few days after Van Dijk was sold BEFORE the transfer window opened. Whole host of big names mentioned, Sturridge, Seggisnon, Mawson, Walcott, Shaw. What happened? We got in Carillo. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/11/19/southmaptons-off-field-overhaul-could-include-division-les-reeds/ then of course there was this little beauty, Paul Mitchell linked with move back, lots of talk of splitting Les Reeds role between several people, a new structure in place by January? What happened? Ralph came in, results got a bit better and it all went quite with the job being given to wee Ross and no one coming in. So that's two examples in the past 2 years where articles have appeared in the clubs preferred media outlet via their preferred source when absolutely nothing like what was claimed was happening did. Not saying it's a lie but it's certainly misleading, don't you think? Maybe Jeremy Wilson made it all up but he always seems to be the journalist with most names, most details and first to print whenever there is any saints news.
  22. Why? We won’t be signing him
  23. I won’t be satisfied until they are using analytics to predict offsides before they happen. It’s the only way to speed up the game by giving a free kick for offside before the offence is committed based on the data available.
  24. Twitter ???
