Personally I think Fonte had some interest that summer, then with players around him getting bigger contracts too he wanted one, which is arguably fair enough given he was captain and an important player. Reed refused, they feel out, no one supported him so he left. It’s a real shame he left, had he stayed he may have been only the second captain to lift a major trophy. He didn’t have to leave though, as others have said we can’t force Carrillo, Lemina and other mugs to leave and Reed doesn’t pick the team, so that’s where the flaw in his version is.

Given fonte was captain, Long term player and a big influence in dressing room, plus we’d given big contracts to a number of other players around then I’m sure he did want a longer deal, especially as at 33 it’s have been his last chance of a big deal. However I don’t think he did himself any favors the way he went about it, there are stories of him interrupting board meetings, trying to hold the club over a barrel and generally being a bit of d1ck about it all. It was a massive balls up to let him go, you need players like that around the club and then to cap it all we obviously didn’t even have a replacement lined up. Although Reed was obsessed with young players breaking through surely he could the huge gulf between fonte and Stephens.

What prompted this was a girl at work who in about a year transformed from a podgy mid thirties woman into an absolute machine, she looks incredible, like an athlete. However this has come at a cost, her social media is full of endless exercise videos or pictures of her with her fellow crossfitters. Dont get me wrong, her videos are impressive, very strong and fit now, but could so without so many of them and maybe on a different subject. It does seem like a bit of cult though.

They been answered by me and others several times. Unfortunately MLG doesn't like the answer so he either ignores it or repeats himself so we just go round and round in circles. As pointed out, MLG is the sort of person that needs things spelling out to him in finite detail. That's not my fault or the big man upstairs.

We have a pathway. Smallbone is in that pathway. What we don’t want are blocks to that pathway. We need the pathway to remain open. This will only encourage other young players to work harder for their place on the pathway. The concept of a pathway can only be good for the future of the club.
