Not at all, thats ridiculous and its the same for all teams. But those who have used it regularly don't like it. Monk mentioned that too.

Crazy stat: @OptaJoe: 3 - Southampton have already conceded more goals from fast breaks this PL season (3) than they did last season (2). Caught. -
Not as well as last season from games I have seen. City apart.
-
The tempo of our game seems very slow at the moment. Maybe top many of those slow style European teams played in pre season? A very minor point but the new PL ball doesnt help. Is very light and bobbles up, so players often take an extra touch rather than playing first time.

He has a nice left foot. Its just, as with a few of our Academy players, physically that he struggles. Lacks that half a yard that you need in the PL. -

For me Pelle has been one of few positives at the start of the season. Certainly far from being a problem area. -

First sign post match on Solent of Koeman using the loss of key players as an excuse for poor defensive display. It is a valid one, but interesting nonetheless. -
CONFIRMED - Oriol Romeu joins on 3-Year Deal

Agree. Knows the role, decent on the ball. Didn't seem overly agile but a million miles better than Davis in that position. -

If anyone is showing hatred then thats a shame and quite frankly ludicrous. But today and last week has has been a weak link and out of his depth. As we know with Fox, Hooiveld etc any weak links get ruthlessly exposed in the PL. -

Very popr against a decent Everton. Key Points: 1. Koeman got the shape wrong, Romeu or Reed should have started, they had far too much space in the midfield and Davis is poor in that deep position. Koeman obviously wants our best player, Mane, to be as far forward as possible but it disrupts the shape. Long isnt a starter in a midfield position for me. 2. Yoshida and Targett were poor. Maya is a decent player but struggles at times against the more physical attackers and he was terrible at key moments today. Targett just isn't good enough right now for PL football. In an ideal world would be on loan in the Championship like Everton's no2 LB (Garbutt). 3. We should have learned from the first Lukaku break and not left Targett exposed following yet another dire Saints corner. 4. Romeu looked decent when he came on and importantly knows the role of that position. Not sure where Clasie fits in myself. 5. Why do we not own any midfielders who can be attacking if needed, all ours are either defensive or passers, nobody who looks to support the striker. This restricts our options in setting up the team. 6. Cedric struggled badly defensively, as at Newcastle. Nowhere near Clyne level. 7. Ultimately none of our signings have improved our starting XI (or even maintained it) and today we were missing 4 of our back 7 from last year. 8. Eventually, you will decline by continually losing the best players and replacing them with players with no PL experience and often at a much cheaper cost. Not a moan, just realism. 9. Lack of leadership on the pitch? Fonte and Pelle aside, I don't see a lot of talkers. -
Anyone who gives him stick doesn't really understand the game.

It's....predictably.....Arsenal. Haha.

Jonathan de Guzman linked with Bournemouth for about £5m. Good player for that sort of money.

SSN guy: "Its not Chelsea and its not Southampton."

We don't need anyone in that position. Koeman said many times, one CB and he is happy. We aren't suddenly going to be chucking £10m plus bids around for players in positions we don't require. Would be amazed if it was us and if it was it would only be if an attacker was being sold, and that is unlikely.
-
Haha. Who the hell thought this would be a great song to get the crowd going before a Southampton FC match? Scary.
-
Sad to notice at the Vitesse game we still have that god-awful song as the last thing before the players come out the tunnel. More bothered about that than a new CB. Its dreadful.
-
Fer has an abysmal attitude and would be a poor signing.
-
Steven Caulker and Rhu-endly Martina pretty tenuous! Juanmi too in a way. Plus Stekelenburg not a current Intl.

Sky reporting Fonte in talks with Villa

Agree but not sure we have the depth yet to loan him out. If we get Clasie fit and loaned in another midfielder as Monk hinted was possible then maybe in September sometime we could send him on a 3month loan with recall option. I don't see him going anywhere for the full season though. -
Villa board have definitely backed Sherwood.

Clyne and Schneiderlin went. Both in top 3 last season in their specific position. Neither for crazy money by PL standards. Villa is very different from Liverpool or Man Utd but you can just never rule anything out. Transfer window always throws up suprises, although probably not in this case. -

Aside from CB I agree. Centre back is just a different beast, they rarely get subbed on unless there is an injury and few 20 year old CBs play PL football.
