  1. Away is even better than the home I reckon.
  2. I think its you that has an agenda against me, which is fine.
  3. The second line of my OP says: "Clearly we will be signing forwards soon." So how do you leap to the conclusion that I think we are doing nothing behind the scenes? No negative agenda, just a post about our strikers that you have interpreted completely wrong. I don't mind you disagreeing with my posts, but at least show you have read them, and don't talk for me.
  4. Aiming for CL football to not really aiming for it. Realism. Which doesn't thrill CL quality players unsuprisingly.
  5. To be fair, its only SFC that have already sold our three England WC players and set to lose two more of our very best players, plus have our record signing gone AWOL. Our needs arent the same as everyone elses. We need to build a new attack in one month, from scratch and have so far brought in one very promising player, but there is certainly a urgent need for more. Anyone who can't see that urgency is worse than the oft-labelled bed wetters.
  6. Lets shut the forum down then, if we can't discuss how to run the club or manage the team. Pretty much all threads on here do one of the above.
  7. Often looked better for Eng U21s than for Norwich. Maybe in the right team he could be good.
  8. Of course. But at times there is a necessity. We only have one striker who looks to have a future at the club and its only just over a month until the start of the season.
  9. Telegraph saying Saints in for Nathan Redmond but the 6m fee is a stumbling block. Stoke also keen. For me, he is a decent player with a lot of potential, and £6m is a steal really when you consider fees this summer. Certainly wouldnt waste much time haggling over that.
  10. I think quite a few teams have strengthened well, and apart from us (and Liverpool soon) nobody has lost anyone major that I can think of - although Swansea will they have already replaced Bony (note to Saints).
  11. Gamesmanship over the fee I think. Might end up with Pelle going on strike. Also worth noting that the Dutch articles are referring to the English media as the source, and I don't know if they all have much clue whats happening. End of the day, its a big fee, but if RK thinks he will get us goals then its worth it - not like we don't have any money. By crude calculations we have already made a 50m profit this summer. Will not even need to spend any of our own money this summer so an extra 1 or 2m surely makes little difference.
  12. Gamesmanship over the fee IMO, just like with Lallana. Pelle will probably end up going on strike or something to that effect. Re Sharp - he has to train with us because he is our player and it would be wholly unprofessional to stop him training. I would think he will almost certainly leave, because he isn't good enough. Be interesting to see how much he figures in the friendlies. Considering he wasn't even on the pre season tour last year, it would be a backward step IMO if he is brought back into the fold. Football is a ruthless game. He isn't good enough and unlike Gallagher, won't improve and doesn't have the raw ingredients to do so either.
  13. Great news, but would be better if we tied down the ones that really matter - Cork especially.
  14. Obviously will. As long as the ones we bring in are decent, I think this might be ok: 1. New signing 2. New signing 3. Gallagher 4. Mayuka Then Jay Rod to come back, although he is often best from the wide position. Sharp will end up being loaned out I think.
  15. Have to say it looks increasingly likely Schneiderlin will leave, and to be honest you can't blame him - he deserves a chance to play in Europe.
  16. How many do people think we need? Clearly will be signing forwards soon. Current set of strikers is an odd bunch... Gallagher - raw, should be development squad/sometime sub - ideally 4th choice Osvaldo - mental and still on holiday, clearing never playing for us again Mayuka - jury very much out Sharp - not good enough Jay - out til probably Christmas, but obviously quality When Reed said at the start of the summer that we had targets and were moving on them, does that still stand? Would have thought striker was a major priority, especially when Lambert went (quite a while ago now). The argument that other clubs haven't bought many players is fine, but I can't think of any sides with fewer, or less proven PL strikers than we currently have. IMO need two in quite quickly, over the next couple of weeks - so lets hope that happens. Must be difficult for the team to train properly, or the players to develop understandings seeing as probably only Gallagher will feature this season, and not as a first choice.
  17. Crook though, so based on nothing but needing to get paid.
  18. So obviously talented but just not sure if he will ever adapt. However, two things he clearly needs: 1. To play centrally 2. To get a run of starts Only then can we tell IMO.
  19. Anyone else a little concerned by the striker situation? Always felt we needed two since Lambert left, and two good ones at that. Such a key position, if the additions don't perform we will be in big trouble regardless of good players in other positions. Squad hugely lacks goals. Still think we will get Pelle and are haggling with Feyenoord over a fee.
  20. Buzzing for Izzy
  21. Chaplow would be the most energetic player in the league too.
  22. 3.) Jay Rod at times aside, nobody was available to run onto a through ball. Part of the reason Ramirez at times appears to struggle IMO.
  23. Nothing wrong with what he said, it is the reality. If I were Tadic I would be happy to play in the PL, and would know that if I had a couple of really good seasons then its possible a big CL team might come in for me. Downside, we might lose him at some point. Upside, we get a highly skilled and motivated player who knows he will need to do his best to catch the eye, and continue the rep of improving players, meaning its easier to attract the top young talent who see us as a great stepping stone to a top club.
