  1. For Man City it could be a left back for 2-3m per season over a long career. Sounds like a bargain when you consider the money in football these days. Why should the decision to sell be based on it seeming like a lot of money. Spurs would sooner have Bale than 90m and Saints will rather Shaw than 30.
  2. Clyne can play LB but is much better at RB. Taylor, Davies etc are some way off Shaw's level. If Shaw wasnt top class he wouldnt have the whole top 4 wanting him. Can never replace with the same quality otherwise Chelsea, Citt and United would go and get Neil Taylor or Chelsea would play Bertrand. They want Shaw because he is miles better than those players and will be one of the very best left backs in the world in a couple of years.
  3. Clyne was a steal but the idea Shaw could easily be replaced is quite funny. Full backs are so key to our game and luckily we have three all worth a lot of money. Reality is there arent many bargains to be had and once Shaw goes 99% his replacement will be of lesser quality. Can't understand why any fan would want that. Im sure we will spend money next summer without have budgeted to sell Shaw so much better to keep our best players and add. Money in the bank doesnt win you any points.
  4. Couple of examples of who could 'easily' replace him?
  5. Should resist any offers. His value will only increase. He will have virtually all the top clubs keen on him. Lets have him in some of his best years rather than when he is learning. Besides, the club won't sell for any price. Shaw will only leave when he pushes strongly to.
  6. People did question it last season but he has come through it and to question it now or suggest he shouldn't be captain is foolish. Ultimately it has been the right call. As you say, others could do it, Morgan also. But Lallana is our leader on the pitch through his desire, work rate and performances.
  7. Lallana should 100% be our Captain. He is a leader within the squad and drives the other players to maintain high standards. Amazed anyone would even question it really.
  8. He obviously won't leave this window. Also when he does leave we will be in such a strong bargaining position. City, Utd and Chelsea all weak (by their standards) at left back. Think we will get a huge fee.
  9. No point having no aspiration. With a fully fit squad we can get a lot more points this season.
  10. This is the exact ramblings of someone who doesn't understand the game. When Ramirez got the ball, from I think Clyne, he could just have tapped it back to Clyne, kept possession, and shifted responsibility. Instead he tried to actually create a goalscoring chance. It worked. Many times it won't work otherwise we would score 10 + each time he plays. Luckily he keeps trying these kind of things because as today showed, it can make the difference. Hopefully in the next game when he tries something like that again the fans will cut him some slack. His role in the team is to unlock defenses and he is quite good at it (when given a chance, both my the Manager and the fans).
  11. No. Wasn't on the pitch long enough for me to consider him. Played well though, and we havent lost with him in the squad.
  12. Lovren was excellent and Guly looked extremely sharp, one pass out to Clyne would have been worthy of David Silva.
  13. Brilliant from Gaston. Hope Alpine Saint enjoyed the game if he saw it.
  14. What?
  15. The post above mine. Guidetti, Zaha, Bertrand.
  16. All of those you mention wouldnt get the game time their clubs would want. We would end up improving them for those teams as well. No thanks.
  17. Observation: Glasgow Saint is being mugged off in this thread. Sad to see a SWF legend fallen. #RIPGlasgow
  18. Well Fox is best mates with him... Idiakez a suprise but talented player.
  19. Someone at the TG who would know.
  20. Apparantly Ath Madrid are just looking at our new training ground setup.
  21. I think MP was being pretty honest. Reckon we have no intention of doing anything unless to replace and outgoing player. By that I mean a Jos, Maya, Gaston etc rather than one of the top lads who we won't sell.
  22. Light training according to the OS. Reckon start of Feb earliest.
  23. The only teams who do business at this stage of the window are the desperate ones i.e West Ham. If we do anything we will just wait and see what comes around. I am sure we would happily do nothing, but if someone on our radar becomes available then we will move.
  24. Palmeri just reports what Ginaluca DiMarzio reports the day before. He said basically theres no way we will let Osvaldo go.
